Changing My Life

Chapter 1 Welcome To London

Amy's POV.
I've just entered the London Heathrow airport and retrieved my suitcases. I have called a taxi and gave the driver the address to my new flat. It's a 4 story flat in a very nice neighborhood.
I'm flat no 2 so thankfully I won't have huge flights of stairs to go up to everyday.
We have just arrived, so I paid the nice driver and said a quick 'Good Day' to him. I was left in front of the flat. I sighed before grabbing all my suitcases and carrying them towards the flat.
After 15 minutes of getting all my four suitcases upstairs I rummaged through my purse to find the key. When I did, I opened the door to find a very nice full furnished flat with a nice, welcoming aroma. I carefully placed all my luggage inside next to the front door.
The layout of the flat is very simple but comforting and nice at the same time. Not too big and not too small. Just perfect for me. From the front door you enter a small corridor which leads to the living room and a joint kitchen with a balcony. Then another small corridor but slightly bigger than the other one where you find 2 bedrooms and a bathroom as well as a washroom.
I went to the living room and plopped on the sofa and just stared around for a while since I was jet lagged due to the 3 hour flight. I started thinking of how my life is going to be like here. If I will make any friends .... like that is possible everyone hates me ...... If I will get in the music school I applied for ....... very funny as if I'm good enough ..... Lost in thought and knowing if I kept going I will end up breaking down thinking of my family and end up cutting sleep took over. Thank you Jet-lag.
2 hours later
I woke up to a strange place and got confused immediately so I shot up from the couch I was on only to remember that this was what I would call home from now on.
I went to explore my new home starting with the kitchen. Opening cupboards and the fridge and freezer only to find nothing. I made a mental note to go shopping later after I go to McDonald's or something. I went to the bedroom and was surprised to see it was spacious there was a soft rug which I could lay and draw for hours. A queen size bed and a closet big enough for all my clothes. A bedside table with a lamp and a desk. A dresser and a window which had a window seat where you can sit and take a look at the neighborhood.
I went to the bathroom and saw it was small and comfortable just enough for me and then a smaller bedroom. I moved my luggage from the front door to my room and started unpacking. After 1 hour of listening to music and singing to myself so as to not get that much bored I was pretty much done so I decided to take a walk and look around to see if there was a grocery store near by.
I grabbed my keys, phone and purse and left, locking the door behind me and jogging down stairs and exiting the building. I started walking around admiring people's lawns and just the surroundings. The neighbors all waved they seemed pretty friendly and welcoming obviously noticing I was new to the neighborhood.

I turned around the corner and saw a very busy street, the total opposite to my neighborhood. I picked a store and got a cart and basically got every type of food that I can survive with and returned home with the grocery stuff, put them away in the cupboards and fridge and went out again but this time calling a taxi to go to McDonald's and telling the driver to be back in like 2 hours or so, giving me enough time to explore London a bit since it's so difference to what I grew up with.
