Summary

Creatures and humans live happily alongside each other. When a plague hits the world, the creatures are wrongly blamed and banished to their own realm. Twenty years have passed. A dangerous Evil has come to the Creature Realm. In an attempt to save their subjects, Queens Luna and Nova band together. Sending some creatures back to earth in hopes of sanctuary and eventually defeat the Evil. However the earth is still dying. What’s left of the human race now resides in North America where it is too cold for the plague to spread.

Meet the main character Casper. She is anything but a normal teenager. With a dysfunctional family, pushy boyfriend, and a weird birthmark on her rib cage, not to mention failing on her KSMT (Kendrickson Society Measurement Test) so she can’t go to school. She takes care of her younger siblings and works at the town’s farm. With her life in a rut she accidentally creates a pretend identity and now uses it as her only escape from reality.

Harry is a vampire, Prince to be exact. His mom is Queen Nova. Since he was four, harry has had a crush on Casper but won’t admit it. He managed a high score on his KSMT and goes to Kendrickson High. He has lots of friends and is one of the more popular kids. One of his secret pleasures is going to the island to “get away from reality” and be the real him.

During one of Casper’s identity breaks she runs into and Harry. A spark happens which goes unnoticed. Since their visit she has dreams; ones she can’t explain. She now has more questions than answers and she’s getting frustrated. Casper befriends Harry and agrees to let him accompany her on her errands. There’s something about this girl that gives Harry a sense of adventure. She reminds him of someone but can't figure out who.

Something happens to Casper and she runs off, hiding from everyone that cares for her. Her trust is broken and can’t explain what’s happening to her. She’s scared of herself and for everyone around her. “Monster… that’s what I am. A monster… monster.” It’s now up to harry and all their friends to find Kaitlyn and reveal her past to her. Not to mention the evil that is lurking in the shadows waiting for the right opportunity to strike.
