Pity Party

I don’t know what to do now. Am I really acting like a child? I just don’t want Harry and Louis to stop being step brothers. I’m trying to protect him but I guess I should let it go.
Louis practically hates me, he would hate me more if he found out I was dating his half-brother. I don’t even want to imagine the things he would do to me.

This relationship was doomed from the get go but I still want him. He makes me happy instead of depressed. He actually make me believe in feelings that I never had before.
Maybe I am childish maybe I’m just not ready for him. He deserves way better than me anyways. I mean we only have been together for 4 days, But we been through hell and back during the two years we been friends.

“Melanie! Melanie!” Niall yells. I come back to reality when I hear Niall scream at me. “Melanie are you okay, you’re crying really badly?” He says more softly. All the attention is on me and I hate it.
I just want Harry to hug and hold me and tell me everything is going to be okay. Harry looks at me with regretful eyes, I know he feels bad but I did this for him to protect him.

“I’m fine” I wipe my tears off my face. Water proof makeup is the best invention ever made, I truly am a crybaby. I move my arms a little and look at my phone. David is going to be at the clinic five minutes after us.
Niall looks down and back up with blurry blue eyes. I look down and see what created the tears. I look back up at him “What happened?” He mouthed out.

“Nothing” I mouthed back. “Stop lying” he whispers. “I’ll tell you later.” I whisper back. “Do you have an extra shirt?” He starts to grab his backpack.
“No, I thought I did but I don’t” He quickly hands me a grey long sleeve. Everyone else is in their own little world while Niall and I are talking.

Lilly and Harry occasionally look at Niall and I, as for Jessica she has her eyes glued on the road and pays no attention to any of us.
“You should change when we get to the clinic. Be careful so they don’t see.” He moves his head to Harry and Lilly. I nod and say thank you.
We arrive to the clinic and I quickly get out of the car. “I’m going to the bathroom.” I practically run into the building as well as Niall to make sure I’m okay.

“I’ll be okay, you don’t have wait for me.” I say as I enter the restroom. I ran to the empty stall locking and stripping my shirt off. The blood dried and I knew that it would never come out so I tossed the shirt to the dumpster and washed my arms up.
As I was washing a young nurse came in and saw all the red water running down the drain, “Oh my, are you okay?” She runs over to me and examines. “Where is the blood coming from love?”

I was in complete shock so I stuttered horribly “I-I am okay, it’s nothing” I move slightly away from her. She smiles softly “girl I know how it goes, its fine, I used to do it to.” She raises her sleeves and reveal the deep scars on her arms.

“Now let me see your arm.” I nod slowly and give her my injured arm slowly. “This is really bad, there was way too much pressure on your wrists. I’m surprised you haven’t passed out yet. Are you here to see a doctor about this?”

I move my head side to side. “No, I’m here because of my brother, he is ill.” She nods slightly “I’m not going to get preacher on you but it is my job to make sure people are safe and by the way of your arms, you are not safe. I’m going to give you this card with my number.”

She hands me the card and I accept it. “My baby cousin is in that group, he is 19 and has lots of trouble. You probably know him from South Houston. I see you a lot with his step brother.”
As the words fall out of her lips I know who she is talking about and I don’t like it at all. “You mean Lou- Louis?” I stutter out. “Yup that’s the one. He has major anger and bipolar issues, and a personality disorder but don’t tell him I told you please.”

“I won’t tell him, I promise.” I stick my pinkie out of habits with David. She laughs at my childish acts and wraps her pinkie around mine. “Here I have this for you. She takes out a gauze and medical tape and gives it to me.

“This will help if it busts again. Next time call me and lease try out the group it will help a lot. It helped me.” She smiles and walks out. That’s kind of strange she didn’t even use the bathroom nut it’s whatever I guess.

I started clearing my arm again and tossed the paper towel into the garbage. I take one last look at myself before walking out. “Took you long enough Mel, you okay?” Niall startles me. I completely forgot he was waiting for me.

“Yeah, I’m fine, just took a while to wrap it up.” I say as we walk out. “Is David here yet? I really need to talk to him.” We keep walking down the hall to the waiting room. “Yeah he is over there” he points to the corner. “I am going to go get something to eat, I am starving. Do you have any requests?” he smiles and takes out a pen.

“Uhm Nandos, sounds good.” I say and smile. “Let me put that in my handy dandy note book, you know you’re really lucky you said that because I was only going there anyways.” He chuckles out.
“Whatever Niall, just go get me and the others food, thank you.” I swat his arm then turn to go talk to Dave. “David what happened to you? You looked perfectly fine this morning.” I give him a quick squeeze.

“I was asking Ana Marie to the dance and I was so nervous I got sick, but at least she said yes! Any who after she said yes and everything was settled I took off to the bathroom and puked all my lunch out.” He says as he looks at the ground.

“You must be super hungry then?” Harry hands him a bag of potato crisps from the vending machine. “I’m super hungry but I’m scared I will not keep it down” he pops one into his mouth.
“It’s worth the risk though.” He chuckles softly. “I hope you feel better buddy. I know how it feels to be bit by the love bug” I grab one of is chips and eat it rather quickly.

“I guess I’m hungry too. Niall is bringing back food for all of us so I won’t eat any more of your chips. I say. “Good because I wasn’t going to give you any more any ways.” We laugh and Harry just lightly smiles.

“I’m going to go check when we will be seen.” Harry walks off fast to the counter. I just stare at the ground till David grabs my hand “Okay Melanie what happened to you and monkey toy, something is up and I want to know?” He asks concerned.

“I ran into Louis and he grabbed my wrists.” I unravel the gauze and show him the busted cuts. “Melanie what the hell did you do to yourself and why the hell did Louis bully you. I thought I told you to stay away from the two evil people. He slightly yells only for me to hear. He knows I get bullied by Eleanore and Louis but I tell him to keep his mouth shut so he don’t get hurt in the process. I just want him and Harold safe.

Eleanore told me if any one finds out that she would go after the closest people I have, which is my parents, David, Harry Lily, and Niall I couldn’t live with myself if anything happens to them.
“I know you cut, but that that bad Mel really.” He holds my hand for comfort. “So how does this add up to monkey toy” he asks confused on his face.

We got in a text fight. I take out my phone and show him the messages. I have tears brimming in my eyes again. “What am I supposed to do David?” I choke out slightly.
“Mel bear, this isn’t your fault, if monkey toy wants to be a dick then let him. You are not acting like a child you’re just looking out for him, sacrificing your humanity for him.

If anything he should be crying for you, I know you love him but Melanie you got to be strong. Don’t give in, he will come around, I promise.” He finishes his talk with me and the nurse calls him up as Harry sits down.
Even though David is 3 years younger than me, I feel he is much wiser than me. He knows how to help and care for me. I look down to my hands and as I did Harry starts talking.

“I heard some of what David said, and I guess it’s true. I shouldn’t have told you that, I just been having a bad day. I had to kick two of the best footy players off the team today and it wasn’t good.
I know I was wrong as soon as I hit send. I just wanted to help you and I know I shouldn’t have kept bugging you, but Mel I worry about you a lot. I love you so much and I just want you happy.

I hate when your down and I want our relationship to last but it’s hard when you don’t tell me anything. You just bottle your emotions up and then let them burst when I say something wrong.
So Melanie if you want this relationship to work then we can’t have any secrets. I will come clean to you if you come clean to me. I’ll even go first if you want?” He is full on soft crying as he chokes out his words.

I’m so sorry Harry, I am a childish girl. I want to tell you but you have to trust me, that I can’t tell you why I was so down this morning.
I love you and it’s for your own good, okay? Maybe down the road I’ll tell you but for now please trust me on this.” I cry out softly.

“What can be so bad that you can’t tell me Melanie?” He grabs my chin softly so I’m looking straight into his glossy green eyes.
This is all déjà vu, happening again and again and probably again in the future. I don’t want to go round and round. I’m getting dizzy from all the spins.

“Harry please trust me on this. You really don’t want to know.” I choke out. This is so painful, I hate seeing him hurt. “Please tell me Mel.”
“Baby please trust me. I promise I’ll tell you later when it’s the right time.” I kiss his lips softly and all the bad moments prior to this disappeared.

We locked our lips feeling the shocks of electricity in out veins. We haven’t talked or touched for an hour and we practically gone mad because of it.
We continue to kiss before we hear whistles “get some!” Lily cheers out making all the patience’s look up to the strange teenager.
“Sorry she is really hyper.” Harry says making everyone go back to what they’re doing before. “Lilly sit down” I motion her to sit.

“You’re not my mom, you can’t tell me what to do” she chuckles out as she sits down. “Then why did you listen” I stick my tongue at her. “Because I’m polite.”
“Whatever” I roll my eyes and intertwine my hand with Harry’s. I seriously missed him. Is this a bad thing or a good one? I am in way to deep but I honestly don’t care, as long as I am with Harry.

As I sat there with Harry a text message came in. I didn’t want to look at it so I just left it there. “Are you going to look at the text message Melanie?” Lily says with a slight anger raising in her voice.

“Later” I simply say and cuddle into Harry’s chest. Out of nowhere Lily grabs my wrist and tries to pull me upward. “Ow what the hell is wrong with you?” I hissed from the slivers of pain that shocks up my arm.
Everyone eyes start to pierce through us both. “Get the fuck up and I’ll tell you bitch.” She grabs my arm and makes me get up. “What the hell Lilly? Leave her alone, what did she do to you?” Harry gets up and pulls me behind himself.

“She knows exactly what she did! What is it Mel, Harry just wasn’t enough for you huh Melanie?” She stares down to my shirt and Harry looks at the shirt as well. Harry leaves my side and looks straight into my eyes with disbelief.

“Hey guys! I got us Nandos!” Niall comes in with bags of food and then dies down when he sees Harry and Lilly looking depressed as ever. “What’s going on?” he sets down the food and looks at us.
“I’ll tell you what’s going on. What the fuck is Melanie wearing your shirt!?” Harry screams at his face. “You guys can’t be serious, right? It’s just a fucking shirt and I don’t think she would be wearing it if it wasn’t for you Harry!” he pokes his finger on Harry’s chest.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Harry back shots pushing him back. “You guys are being so immature, he gave me the shirt because of this.” I pulled up my sleeve and reveal the cover wrist.
“I can’t believe you guys would think we were anything, I would never do that to you Lilly, and Niall has always been a brother figure to me. Harry I honestly don’t even know what to tell you.” I sadly say.

“I guess you guys have zero trust in both of us” Niall scoffs. They both stay silenced as they collect the right words to say. “I’m sorry Mel? I didn’t mean to turn Harold against you. I just really thought you guys were messing around. I mean the way you guys just ran off to the restroom, it just triggered me, I’m really sorry.” She comes and gives me a tight hug.

I should still be pissed off, but Lily will always be my sister so I just let the problem go. “It’s fine.” I look at Harry and look straight into his green eyes.
“I-” I cut him off and kiss his lips. “Don’t say anything. Please.” I pick up his chin so I could look at his face. He is just the most beautiful creature the Gods created.

“I love you, through my pity parties and mad hatter attitudes.” I say as I kiss his lips passionately. “I love you through little things and no control laughter” He whispers into my ear.

As I was about to laugh, the doctors called me in. “I’ll be right back.” I kiss his cheek and walk to the doctor. “Hello Doctor Mendes, What is it that you need to talk about?” I sit in the chair next to David.
“Well Melanie, we have had this conversation before, he needs to stop the smoking. You are older than him and I really need you to take care of him, I know it’s a big responsibility but seriously if he is going to start soccer he needs his lungs.

I’m not only saying this to you but I spoke with him and he said he will try his best to stop.” I nod as he hands me a medical slip and heads us out.
As I walk out, he grabs my shoulder and turns me around, “Melanie I am being serious, if he does not stop I will call authorities and your parents.” He gives me a weak smile and let’s go.
I walk back out to the waiting room and see Lilly and Niall holding hands. I walk closer and Lilly lets his hand go. “I saw that, you guys are so cute, but I just came here for my food.” They both blush bright red as I grab the Nandos bag and walk off to the corner where Harry and David is sitting.

“Hey babe, and dork.” I hold Harrys hand, grab the semi warm food and hand it out to David and him. “Are you going to be able to eat David?” I ask as I take a bite. “Yeah I’ll be okay but I think we should go home, I’m pretty tired.” He gets up. “We have to wait for Harry’s prescription.”
“Harold Styles, your prescription is ready” the lady from the front counter yells. “Well we can be going now.” Harry laughs and grabs his medicine. “Love birds, we going to leave you.” David shouts out.

They blush and starts walking hand in hand. They are so adorable. I hope Niall is well to her, I mean he is a very mature guy, he won’t intentionally hurt her but I still don’t want her to cry if he breaks her. I remember in the seventh grade she balled her eyes out over the most popular guy Luke Hemmings, they were supposed to go to prom but he ditched her for Ariana Grande at the last minute.

“I am making the bed duh, if my parents come home I would like for them to think I was thinking appropriately.” I giggle out. “Oh we both know you are not thinking appropriately.” He wiggles his eyebrows in a playful manner.

“I would like to think that I was daddy.” I move myself to his body and watch as he fails miserably under my spell. “Melanie stop.” He groans out. “Why daddy, what’s wrong daddy, you don’t want your dolly calling you daddy.” I moan every daddy out into his ear.

HARRY POV
The car ride was really awkward, it had a horrible vibe. Melanie and Niall were talking throughout the whole car ride, so I started to talk to Lily, we kept each other company but all we wanted to do is be with the ones we love.

She talked about how Melanie and she became friends, Mel was being bullied by some other girls, and so Lily took it upon herself and cut the girls pony tails right off. They both ended up in time out, and ended up best friends forever.

They spent every day together, and they were always put into the same class as each other. In high school it is way different, they have complete different schedules. She said it took a toll on Mel, she started to act strange and never wanted to talk about anything anymore.

It is getting better now, but she is scared that it will happen again and she will block her out fully. I would hang out with Mel and I never saw change in her personality, she was always the same colorful, playful funny little girl, I fell in love with when I first met her.

I see my future with her and I always want to be with her, but I am so afraid of losing her. I want to tell someone about herself harm but I am afraid that she will never trust me again. So I kept quiet and just listened to Lily go on about my future wife.

Yes I plan on marrying this girl, even though we barely started going out, I have always loved her and I always will. Our day was very stressful when it came to Niall’s shirt but I should have known that she would never cheat on me.

I mean she didn’t date anyone because she liked me so much and I kind of did the same. I’m not saying that I haven’t had my fair share of girls but when it comes to Melanie, I know I have found the one.
No one can come between her and I, not even the Gods above, can separate the two of us. It’s her and I against the world forever and always.
