Surrounded yet Alone

Luna’s POV

We waved goodbye to all the fans as we walked off stage. I stopped as soon as I knew no one could see me. I took a deep breath as I felt Niall giving me a bear hug from behind, "I told ya you had nothing to worry about." he whispered in my ear. He was right. The show went really well and the fans were so great. It was really unbelievable.

I turned around to look at Niall and gave him a kiss when we were quickly interrupted by Harry, Liam, and Louis having a “coughing” fit. We turn around and look at them reluctantly. I can tell my cheeks are bright red but luckily they probably can’t see it since it’s so dark backstage.

“So are we going to have to deal with your PDA now?” Louis asks Niall and I.

Luckily Niall talks for the both of us, “Mate, don’t be just bitter because you don’t have a girlfriend.” I’m just stuck looking between the boys and Niall wondering what will happen next.

“I’m just saying you guys have been a thing for about 4 hours. Maybe you should slow down?” Louis says. Ouch. That kinda stung. I guess we did move a little fast, but I’m okay with it. The next thing I know Niall grabs my hand and pulls me into my dressing room. I look back to Harry and give him a confused face. He responds with a shrug before I’m behind a closed door in my dressing room with Niall.

“Do you think we’re moving too fast? I mean we can slow down or I don’t kno-” he says before I have to interrupt him.

“Niall, I think we’re going as fast as we want to go,” I tell him with a smile, “and if anyone has something to say about it, let it go in one ear and out the other. It’s our relationship not theirs.”

Niall’s face lights up as he smiles. Everytime I see his smile, I get butterflies in my stomach. Every. Single. Time. He pulls me towards him for a kiss that started sweet, but turned very passionate fast.

A few minutes later we are interrupted by my phone ringing. We break the kiss and I sigh as I answer the phone, “What Harry?” I snap at him. I didn’t mean to sound rude, but I was upset since I was right in the middle of something.

“Geez, relax Luna. I didn’t say anything, Louis did”, Harry said defensive.

“Sorry Harold, but what do you want?” I tell him.

“We have to leave soon so you and Niall need to meet us on the bus.”

“Okay we’re coming” I hang up the phone, “We’ve gotta go meet the boys on the bus now. Pennsylvania is next!”

“Ok, love. We’ll continue that later.” Niall says with a wink. I roll my eyes even though I’m happy inside. “But before we go out there, I almost forgot to tell you. My manager isn’t thrilled with us being together. At all. She wants only our close family to know and absolutely no fans can know. It’s kinda risky, but we can do it.”

Of course, dating Niall Horan has it’s price. “Okay. That’ll be okay, I guess.” is all I can manage to say. I’m a little upset even though I had a feeling that’s how it would have to be.

He smiles, “Then let’s get going before Louis kills us even more.”

He holds the door open for me and we make our way out of the stadium and to our security so we can make our way through the fans and to our bus. We walk out the stadium doors into the swarm of fans. I’m being deafened by screams and blinded by flashes but we eventually make it into the tour bus safely.

“There are the love birds”, Harry says as I roll my eyes.

I suddenly realize how tired I am since I’ve gotten no sleep the last couple of nights. I head straight to the back room and collapse on my bed. I just lay there for a couple minutes to remember the amazing first show we just finished.

Suddenly I hear from the front of the bus, “I don’t care! You aren’t ruining another relationship for me, Louis! I really really really like Luna and I’m going to do everything I have to to make her mine”.

This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen. I don’t want the drama between the band. I just want to be Niall’s girlfriend and be in love with him without anyone caring. Wait. Love? Is it too soon? Is Louis right? Is management right? It hasn’t even been a day and I’m paranoid already. Will this all fall back down on me and ruin my career? Before I know it I have tears running down my face. Did I make a mistake? Would it have been easier ignoring my feelings for Niall and his endless little flirty comments? I can still hear Niall and Louis arguing in the front of the bus which makes me cry harder until I hear the door to the back section of the bus open.

“Luna?” Liam says quietly. He closes the door and comes over to me, “What’s wrong? SHould I get Niall?”

“No!” I say urgently. I can’t explain this all to Niall right now. I have no idea how he’d react. “Um, I-I’m just worried about Niall and Louis and the shows. I’m just stressed out, yeah I’m just stressed out.”

“I know love but I promise, once you get over the first couple of shows, you’ll have so much fun. I can promise you that”, Liam says.

“Thanks Liam”, I say as I give him a hug.

“I’ll let you get your rest now. See you in the morning.”

“Thank you Liam. I’ll see ya tomorrow”

And with that, Liam walks to the front of the bus as I quickly fall asleep.

Notes

Sorry for no update yesterday! Just a heads up, this upcoming week is going to be super super busy so I'll work on the chapters when I can. I'd rather put out good, long chapters rather than short, bad quality chapters.

thank you so much for reading and baring with me throughout the next week. I'm trying to get as much writing done until the school year starts, then once it starts I'll probably update once or twice a week. :(
