Surrounded yet Alone
Today's the Day
Luna's POV
It's only a four hour drive to New York City, but it's taking forever. Part of me wants to get this over with and the other part of me just wants to hide in this tour bus for the next year-ish. It's been pretty quiet on the bus. I've been on my phone for the past hour going on Twitter and watching YouTube videos. The guys have been watching some stupid TV show. They're all super excited for tour, of course. They aren't even nervous at all.
I decide it'd probably be in my best interest to get some sleep since I got none last night. I head to the back where there's a big bed, only to be followed by Harry.
"Hey what's up", I say to Harry. We're in the back so there's a little more privacy, but if we talk loud enough everyone can hear our conversation.
"Not much, just wondering how you feel about Niall?" Harry says casually. My eyes bug out of my head and I can feel my cheeks blush.
"Um, w-well what do you mean?" I try to ask innocently even though it comes out terribly awkwardly. I'm the worst at hiding my emotions and I unintentionally remind myself of it literally every day of my life.
Harry pokes me in the stomach, "C'mon you know you like him. I'm not blind, I see the way you guys flirt." Just as I open my mouth to deny that I've ever flirted with Niall, Harry opens his and says, "Listen, you two would be great together and I know you both like each other. I know what I'm about to say sounds like we're in high school, but I've got to ask... If Niall asked you out, what would you say?"
I can't believe this is happening. What should I say to Harold? I haven't even thought about going out with Niall, "I guess yes" I say, surprising myself even. I finally make eye contact with Harry and see a big grin on his face, "I'll pass the news on, you should be expecting to hear from Niall soon."
"Whatever, Harry. Just let me sleep for the rest of the ride please", I say as Harry rolls his eyes and walk out of the small "room", I'm assuming to go tell Niall what I said.

"Wake up Luna! We have to go to sound check", I hear Louis shout as I rub my eyes and sit up. Ugh, I slept in my contacts gross. I go to the bathroom and suddenly remember the conversation I had with Harry right before I went to sleep. Whatever, I still don't think Niall likes me like that. I'm not going to believe anything until he says it himself.
I walk out of the bathroom and speak of the devil, there's Niall waiting for me, "Ready to go, love?" he says.
"I'm just about as ready as I'll ever be", I answer him honestly. He grabs one of my hands and we make eye contact, "Please don't be nervous Luna, you're going to be great". After that, all I can do is smile as we head out of the bus surrounded by security, who are surrounded by fans. Screaming very loudly fans. Very. Loudly.
I take another deep breath and walk towards the huge stadium in front of me. First sound check, here we go.
*** (skip sound check)
It's only 2 more hours until our opening act goes on. At this point, I'm shaking like crazy. At sound check I got to see how big the stadium actually is and let me tell you, it's huge. Luckily sound check went well and I didn't forget any words.
We have three dressing rooms total. The guys are sharing two and I got my own at this venue. I guess that's good because I have a lot more makeup than all of the boys combined. I have about an hour before I have to start getting ready so I figured I'll try to pass time on Twitter.
I hear a knock on my door, "Come in", I say as Niall comes around the door, "Hey whats up?".
"Hi, can we talk for a minute", he says as he walks over to me.
"Of course", I have a feeling I know what this is about...
"Well, I know Harry talked to you", Niall says with a nervous laugh, "So", he continues and starts rambling, "Um well, I don't think we can date because we would have to keep 'us' a secret for awhile, but I can do you one better so do you- would you be my girlfriend?" he finally makes eye contact with me. The nervous look on his face is melting my heart and the next thing I know, I have my lips pressed onto his. Wow, Luna! I even surprised myself by doing that. After a few seconds he presses his forehead to mine and says "So is that a yes?"
I can't help but laugh and say, "Of course" before our lips press together again.

Niall had to leave when my assistant/makeup/hair artist, Candy, came in so I could start getting ready for the show. He was going to tell our manager and the boys before the show. I'm still so nervous, but my hair and makeup looks great. I didn't want it to be too fancy or too light, Candy did an amazing job. She finished a couple of minutes ago so right now I'm just pacing around my dressing room and texting my parents. I miss them already.
"Can I come in?" I hear an Irish voice say from behind the door. I open the door with a smile on my face. "How are you feeling?" he says.
"I'm better, still really nervous, but I'm better." I tell him very honestly.
"Luna. You have absolutely nothing to worry about", he takes my hands, "They heard your voice on the album and love you. You're going to be great and no matter what happens, I'm always here for you."
I look at him with a smile. "But right now, we need to go backstage because the opening act is almost done", he continues. My eyes widen and my heart starts beating out of my chest.
"C'mon, it's okay you have nothing to worry about.", he stands up and leads me out of the room to backstage. I'm speechless. I'm slightly terrified of going onto that stage. I can't even think straight right now. This is insane. I mean it's insane. Like really insane.
"Luna?" I snap out of my thoughts and look up to see Harry looking down at me, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah sure"
We walk up the stairs to the stage, Niall grabs my hand and gives it a quick kiss before dropping it.
The last thing I remember before going on stage, is hearing the intro to Clouds and running on stage behind the boys.
