Niall’s POV
“Luna, you’ve had a bit of a rough past couple of weeks, how are you holding up?”
“Yes, I have. Um, I’m doing better than I was a few days ago.” Luna hesitated to answer.4
“What’s the worst part?”
Who the hell thinks of these questions? Her parents just died and they’re asking her what the worst part is!!
“Well, probably that I came back to being on tour so soon. I-it’s been hard, but the guys have supported me throughout this whole time.” she smiled towards Liam and Louis. She basically ignores me in public because she’s terrified that people will find out about our relationship. I don’t like keeping it a secret, but it’s what has to be done.
“And so to all of you, are any of you in a relationship right now?” the interviewer asks looking between us all with anxious eyes. We actually talked to management about what to say if this particular question popped up. They said Louis, Liam, and Harry can be honest in the future (they’re all single now), but either Luna can say she has a boyfriend from back home and I have to say I’m still single.
“I’m still single”, I say first.
“Actually, we all are except Luna”, Harry says maintaining eye contact with the lady interviewing us.
“Oh Luna? Who’s the lucky boy?” she says on the edge of her seat.
“Well he doesn’t really want to be in the public eye. He’s from back home.” Luna says blushing. I want to laugh out loud and I’m doing everything I can not to smile.

“Hello everyone. It’s great to see you all again.” Simon greeted us. Harry, Louis, Luna, Liam, and I have a meeting with management today. Simon’s there of course, then Lisa who everyone loves, and Melanie who we all think is trying to make our lives a living hell every time we have to meet with her.
“Hello”, we all say as we shake everyone’s hands.
“Sit down please , we have a lot to discuss.” Melanie says. I do everything I can not to roll my eyes at her.
Luna is sitting next me and I’m sitting on the end. From left to right we sit me, Luna, Harry, Louis, Liam across from Melanie, Simon and Lisa.
“So as you all know, the purpose of you all being in LA for three days is mostly so you can do more publicity stuff, such as the interviews you’ve done today.”, Simon starts off as we all nod.
“Well, you need to do more stuff than just interviews.” Melanie interrupts looking between me and Louis.
We must have looked confused because Lisa cuts in and says, “What she means is, we need more controversial stuff to be circulating. We need to get people talking.”
“So what better way to do that than get Niall and Louis a new girl?” Simon finishes.
“I already have a girlfriend.” is all I manage to say. I’m confused. Why can’t Liam or Harry have a new girl?
“Nobody knows that, Niall. Listen all you have to do is go out with some girl a few times, we can pick her if you want, be seen holding her hand, maybe kiss her a couple times, then after a few weeks you can stop and everyone will forget.” Melanie tells me. I can’t look at Luna right now. No matter how much I want to, I can’t look at her. There’s no way I’m actually going through with this though.
“Why can’t Harry or Liam do it?”
Melanie sighs, “Harry just got out of a relationship and there’s already been some speculation about you and Luna’s relationship. This way will be easiest for me. I won’t have to cover up for you two any time soon.” she pauses for a moment, “Louis, I’m assuming you’ll just see Eleanor as your ‘girlfriend’?”
“Sure, Melanie”, Louis doesn’t care as much. Him and Eleanor have done it before. They’re very close friends and it benefits them both as it gives them both publicity.
I look over to Luna, “Are you sure you’re okay with it?” I whisper as quietly as I can to her.
“Whatever we need to do, babe. It’ll be okay”, she smiles as she grabs my hand. Except it wasn’t her smile. It was a defeated and sad smile.
“You’re positive?”
“Yes, honey. We’ll be fine, we can make it through this”, she gives me that smile again.
“Fine, Melanie.” I sigh.
Everyone’s eyes snap up to me except Luna’s. I just keep staring down at the table.
“I’ll do it.”
