It's complicated

"Caitlin. Caitlin wake up." Someone whispered. I opened my eyes and saw Niall. I quickly sat up.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I wanted to see if you were okay." He smiled. "And Lizzie." He added.

"Thanks. I'm fine now. I'm sorry about last night and how I freaked." I sighed and looked down at my leg. Just something to make my body uglier then it already was. Niall put his hand on my leg. I looked up at him and he smiled at me.

"you don't have to apologize for last night. I should be the one apologizing. I'm sorry for saying what i said. It's really none of my business." He sighed.

"It's fine. Don't apologize." I said. He looked up into my eyes. His eyes are a beautiful shade of blue. It reminds me of the ocean. His eyes traveled from my eyes to my lips. It felt like he was trying to memorize my face as he looked around. He slowly leaned in closer to my face. His lips touched mine and i felt like it was just him and i in the world. Nothing else mattered at that moment.

I started kissing back. His hand moved over my cheeks to cup my jaw. I moved my hands onto his cheeks. One of his hands moved around my hip. He pulled me so I was straddling him. I moved my hands to the back of his head.

I pulled back and rested my forehead on his so I could catch my breath. "I'm sorry. I can't do this to Celine." Niall whispered. What?

"who's Celine?" I wondered.

"She's my fiancé." He sighed. I jumped off of him.

"You have a fiancé?" I asked.

"yeah." He said like it was no big deal.

"Oh my god. I just made out with someone who's about to get married. Oh my god I'm an awful person." I rambled and paced back and forth.

"you're not an awful person. You didn't know and I was the one who kissed you." Niall pointed out.

"you need to go tell her. I'm not one of those girls. I don't want to break you guys up." I sighed and ran my hands threw my messy hair.

"I know you aren't one of those girls. You're nice and kind. You would ever do anything to hurt anyone purposely. You have a heart of gold." He said and looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes. I would give anything to kiss him right now.

I opened my mouth to say something but his phone started to ring.

"It's her." He sighed. He doesn't seem too fond of her considering they're getting married.

"Hey." He mumbled.

"I really don't care."

"Sure."

"Wait youre coming here tomorrow?"

"Yeah I'll come pick you up at the airport. What time?"

"Okay. See you soon."

"I love you too." That part of the conversation hurt me in a way I've never been hurt before.

"I think you should go." I whispered looking down at the ground.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you by that. I want us to be friends." Wow friend zoned. Hard pass.

"I don't think that's a good idea." I said.

"Niall? Mommy?" Lizzie said sleepily. She's awake.

"Yes baby." I said and walked over to her. I pushed her hair back.

"Why are you guys fighting?" She asked. I looked up at niall.

"We weren't fighting." Niall smiled.

"Then why did mommy tell you to leave?" She asked.

"I just have to go do some stuff." Niall sighed.

"No! I want you to stay and play." She smiled. He looked up at me. I sighed and gave him a small nod. His smile grew.

"what do you want to play?" Niall asked and grabbed Lizzie's arm. He helped her sit up.

"We can play princesses!" she clapped.

i let out a small laugh. "Oh. Are you sure you don't want to play super heroes?" He asked.

"No. I like princesses." She smiled.

I sat on the couch and pretended to watch the tv but I was really watching niall and Lizzie. he was so good with her. She loved him so much. Everything would be so much easier if he wasn't engaged. But that's my life. Nothing's easy and everything is as hard as possible. But I'm used to it.
