The New Boy

I woke up from another horrible nightmare. I sat up sobbing hysterically. I still couldn't talk. I tried screaming but nothing came out, just pain. "Katie cat, it's okay. Calm down." Liam said and ran over to me. I looked around the room and back at him. I nodded my head. "I'm sorry." I mouthed. "It's fine." He smiled. I laid back down. It hurt to sit up for long periods of time. Harry came in. "Hey baby. Did you have another nightmare?" He asks. I nodded my head again. "I'm so sorry." He mumbled and hugged me tight. I pulled back. "Caitlin." I mouthed. "I just dropped her off at my mom's place. Zayn's on his way too." Harry replied. "Well I'm gonna go get some coffee. Do you guys want anything?" Liam asked. I shook my head. "No we're good but thanks." Harry smiled and Liam left. Harry laid down with me. I straddled his lap. He pulled me down gently and kissed me.

I buried my head into his neck. He ran his hands up and down my back. "Everything's gonna be okay. You're my beautiful, strong, perfect baby girl. You can do it." He whispered. I hugged him tighter. "I love you." My voice cracked. It was the faintest noise that you could only hear if you were right next to me. "I love you too." He smiled big. Harry sang quietly as we just sat there together.

A doctor knocked on the door. We both looked up at him. "Hello Ms.Horan, how are you feeling?" He asked. I gave him a thumbs up. "Well I have some good news." He started. Harry and I both waited for him to continue. "You're pregnant!" He smiled. I looked over at Harry to see if he was happy or not. He had a huge grin on his face. He kissed me hard. "We're gonna do an ultrasound right now." The doctor said and brought a wheel chair over for me to sit in. Harry picked me up and sat me down gently. Harry pushed me behind the doctor.

We got to this room and Harry picked me up and set me on the table. The doctor came over and turned on the monitor before putting gel on my stomach. He started moving the stick over my stomach beside the wound. "This is exciting. I wasn't here for the first one." Harry pointed out. I nodded my head. The doctor kept looking from my stomach to the screen. He turned it off. "Is there something wrong?" Harry asked. "Yeah. Um...The baby is dead." He mumbled. I gasped. I looked at Harry who already had tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry." The doctor apologized before walking. Harry hugged me tightly. "I'm sorry." Harry sobbed. "For what?" I asked in my quiet cracking voice. "I should've taken you with me to go pick up Caitlin or called Zayn or Liam when I left. None of this would've happened. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry." He kept repeating. I pulled back to look him in the eyes. I just shook my head. He wiped the tears streaming down my face. "It'll be okay." Harry said but I think he was mainly trying to convince himself. I nodded my head in agreement. He hugged me again. He stroked my hair gently.

After we pulled ourselves together he helped me back in the wheel chair and went into my room. Zayn was there with Liam. "Where did you guys go?" Zayn asked. "Well, um... Katie was pregnant so we went to get an ultrasound and found out that... it's dead." Harry struggled to say without crying. "Oh god, I'm so sorry guys." Liam said and hugged both of us and so did Zayn. Harry set me back in bed. I cuddled with Harry while he talked to Zayn and Liam about stuff. I wasn't really listening. "Go to sleep baby." Harry whispered. I slowly drifted off to sleep while Harry rubbed my arm.
