Chapter 3: Back in San Diego!

Jessa’s POV

I stepped off the plane with my purse over my shoulder and phone in hand. When I walked down the narrowed corridor with my mom behind me, I saw a few familiar faces. My dad was standing a few feet away with his band mates.

“Sissy!” My dad cheered running over to me.

“Dad!” I jumped into his arms and wrapped mine snuggled around him as he lifted me into the air.

“I’ve missed you so much.” He mumbled into my hair.

“Me too.” He set me down and looked at my mom while I faced his band mates eager faces. “Jaime!” I hugged him.

“Hey Jessa.” He squeezed me closer.

“Cant. Breath.” I poked his sides until he let go.

“Sorry.” He whispered while I went to hug Mike.

“Tinta!” I almost shouted when I got to hug Vic.

“Babygirl!” We always got over excited to see each other, that’s how it’s been for my whole life. “I’m so glad you're back.”

“I am too! And guess what?” I looked into his dark eyes. “I’ll be 18 in 5 days.”

“No, shhhhh. You're making me feel old.” He covered my mouth with his hand and then looked at my dad who was glaring at us. “She started it.” He pointed and uncovered m mouth.

“No I didn't, he did.” I looked at my dad.

“Whatever you say, let’s go.” He chuckled rolling his eyes.

I giggled to myself while Vic threw his arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer to his body. We walked over and got our bags before heading for the cars. I knew that Vic would let me drive so I stayed with him, plus he has a nice car.

“Sis, do you want to ride with us?” My mom, Chelsea, asked impatiently.

“Nah, I’m gonna ride with Vic.” I shrugged looking up at him. “If I can.”

“Of course.” He smiled and kissed my forehead.

“Okay.” My mom mumbled throwing her stuff in the hatch back of my dad’s car.

I was right, Vic drove his nicest car and I loved driving it. A 1967 Black, convertible Mustang, my dream car. He popped the trunk and set my stuff inside before handing me the keys. I got in happily and buckled up.

“So, Mike how’s Angela?” I asked looking to the back seat where the tall, lanky guy was sitting.

“She’s great but she isn't here, she went back to see some old friends.” He seemed kind of sad that she was gone but happy that she was okay.

I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket, pulling it out I saw that it was Zayn. He was just making sure I landed alright so I quickly replied before starting the engine. It almost purred as I revved the engine.

“I love this car so much.” I mumbled fixing the mirrors.

“Me too.” Vic laughed as I backed the car out of it’s parking spot. “So, what’re we doing for your birthday?”

“I just want to hangout with everyone, Patrick’s supposed to be here tomorrow.” I really didn't want anything special, having my brother back was the best gift.

“You know your dad isn't gonna just ‘hangout’ on his baby’s 18th.” He was right, my dad was a ‘Go big or go home’ kind of guy. “I know what I’m getting you.”

“Oooooh what?” I was so excited.

“I cant tell you.” He teased as I headed for their place.

“I hate you sometimes Vic.” I pouted hearing Jaime laugh from behind me. “Shut it, Spike.”

“Oh is someone grumpy?” He cooed in my ear.

“You know I hate surprises.” I grumbled.

“Why do you think we do it?” Vic laughed.

“Ugh.” I turned the radio on and up loud enough not to hear them anymore.

“Chels!” My dad called downstairs as his footsteps got quieter.

“Yes?” She asked back to him, their voices were too low to hear so I got out of bed and started getting dressed.

I found my favorite pair of shorts and my hummingbird tank top. My dad and mom were still talking when I turned the radio on. Dancing around my room, I found my make up and did it quickly.

“Sissy!” My dad yelled up to me.

“What?” I opened my door so I could hear him.

“Wanna go to the signing with me?” He seemed eager for me to go with him.

“Yes!” I almost jumped, I love the signings. “I’ll be right down.” I grabbed my phone and purse before running downstairs.

My mom and dad were sitting at the table when I set my bag on the table with a ‘clunk’. I shoved my phone into my pocket and pulled my hair into a messy bun while my parents started laughing.

“What?” I looked at them with attitude.

“You might need some shoes.” My mom pointed to my bare feet. “It’s just a suggestion.”

“What if I want to go bare foot?” I asked looking at my dad who was laughing even harder than my mom.

“You’re such a weird child.” My mom stood up and kissed my forehead before going to the garage.

“Duh, I’m your guys’ kid!” I yelled as the door slammed and looked at my dad. “I’m gonna go grab some shoes and then we can go.”

“Okay.” He was still laughing when I left.
