Love in a Photograph
party
Harry's POV:
I open up the envelope and pull out the sheet of papers. My divorce papers, never would I imagine I would be divorced at age twenty four. I am setting up my new house in LA for my birthday party tonight. It's weird to think that Hayley and I are not married, I mean after I sign these papers. I know she had to go and heal but it still hurts, the absence of her was everywhere. I know she hurt more than me when we lost him I mean of course she was his mother, his carrier and she reminded me it was her job to protect him. The loss of my, our son definelty caused so much space in our relationship and I was the only one to say goodbye.
I will never get over this, I still love her dearly, but things just don't work out. I grab a pen and flip through the page I need to sign. I get my hand ready but am interrupted by a kook on the door.
"Oh just out the back please" I tell the caterers.
I look at the time and realise I need to change, I take the papers upstairs with me.
My house is filled with people and I stand alone in a corner with a red cup in my hand sipping it slowly. I see Louis come up to me. "This isn't how it supposed to be." I take another sip he pats my shoulder. "It's not too late to fox it." He says. Is it to late though, my head is so clouded. I then see the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on walking in. http://memberfiles.freewebs.com/18/74/131207418/photos/undefined/glam.jpg
My ex wife, just her presence lights up my world. FUCK I think I have made the biggest mistake of my life. I see her rejecting a drink from El and she whispers something in her ear. I decide to walk up to her.
"hey thanks for coming" I hug her, does she feel the awkwardness too? "NO problem" she smiles, gosh I miss that smile. "Do you want a drink.?" I ask her. "No I'm good thanks" she touches her stomach, hm weird.
Everyone has left and the house is a mess. I hear some noise outside, so I go out to my backyard and see her picking up the rubbish putting in a garbage bag. "You don't have to do that." I say "It's fine" She bends down to pick up another bust she stumbles a bit. "hey I got you" I grab her by the arm and help her on my lawn chair. "Are you ok Hayl's, you look a little place" I notice. "Yea I'm fine."
I bring out some water. "So you wanna tell me what's going on?" I ask as I have just put the pieces together. "I'm just tired I guess" she lies.
"Hayley I know were not married anymore, but you can still talk to me. Now let me try again. What's going on" I assure her.
"I told you Harry I'm fine." She stands up agitated. "I should go" She puts her cup down. "Hayley you don't have to." She looks at me blankly. "Harry this is too weird". She says putting her palm over her forehead. "What's weird?" I ask.
"This, us, now."
"Hayley, were still friends." Are we though.
"No Harry were not. I'm your ex wife and your my ex husband we are not friends".
"I gott go." She grabs her stuff and ignore me as I call out her name.
