Old Friend

The next morning Julie came. I was still asleep when she came.
When I woke up I heard her and Harry talk.
“It’s Kim right? That is the one you love more than me. I know it. I won’t be surprised if she is lying in your bed right now.” And before I know it the door went open.
“See, I know it!” She said while Harry just stand there looking at her.
“You know what? I’m glad that we split up.” She walked madly to the door and slammed the door behind her.
“I’m sorry?” I said when he looked at me.
“Don’t be. It’s better this way.” Harry jumped back in bed again.
“What time is it?” I asked after 5 minutes. I didn’t know what to say to him. I was feeling sorry for him that he lost her and it was my fault.
“It’s almost 11 AM. You should get to work.” He gets up and walked to the bathroom without saying a word.
“I’m off, bye.” I yelled in the hallway after I got dressed and fresh up. I didn’t hear him so I just stepped outside.

That day went fast and I decided to go to bed early.
‘Ring ring.’
“Damn thing!” I said reaching for my cell phone. I was almost a sleep.
“Hello??” I was a bit upset until I hear a sweet voice of a person that I was thinking about all day long.
“He sunshine, how are you?” It was Harry.
“I’m alright. I was just about to go to sleep. I’m tired.”
“O I’m tired to but I can’t sleep. You’ve been on my mind since you left.” I blushed.
“Listen there is a reason why I called you. I’m leaving the day after tomorrow and I realized we never been on a real date. So I wanted to ask you to spend tomorrow night with my?”
“Yes I would love to.” We had a sweet and small talk; we hung up and tried to get some sleep.

Although he has been my friend for years, this was weird, going on a real date with him the next day.
When it was 7 PM he rang my doorbell.
“Are you ready?” Harry first says when I open the door.
“Hello to you to.” I smiled at get my coat.
“What are we going to do?” I said when we were driving.
“You talked about bungee jumping?” He asked.
“Mm yes!”
“Well I want to do it now!”
“You’re joking right?”
“Yes I am. But we will do that someday.”
“So are you going to tell me or not?”
“We are going to see a movie. Just the two of us in the back with a popcorn.” He parked his car.
“I never been here.” We stepped out of the car.
“This is the smallest movie theater I ever been. I though it will be fun and not so many fans to bother us.” He placed his arm around my shoulder.
“We could have been watching a movie at your place.”
“I know but then I know I couldn’t keep my hands off you.” He whispered in my ear.
“Plus I wanted to take you out before I go.” He took my hand and walked to get out tickets to see a old movie.
We got our drinks and popcorn and walked into the theater. There were some fans who recognized him so he made some time with them and then walked over to me and took the seat next to me and grabbed some popcorn I was holding.
“Hi.” He said with his mouth full.
“Charming.” I smiled. He give me a kiss on the cheek.
“You haven’t change, weirdo.”
“Still haven’t seen nothing yet.” He smiled taking a sip from his drink.
The light dimmed and the movies started.
“Have fun girl.” He placed his arm around me and I cuddle closer to him. I gave him a quick kiss before grabbing some popcorn and start to eat.
When the movie was about the end I looked at Harry. His head was lying on my shoulder.
“You’re not sleeping, aren’t you?” I start.
“No I was just thinking.” He moved to stretch his arms.
“Do I want to know?”
“I don’t think so.” He smiled placed his arms around me.
“That’s too bad.” I whispered in his ear giving him a shiver along his back.
“You’re alright?” I smiled when he looked deeply into my eyes.
“You’re driving me crazy know that?” I shake my head sideways with a sneaky smile.
“Let’s go.” He grabbed my hand and we walked, well almost run to his car.
“Harry?” We heard and turned around.
“Julie. What are you doing here?” Harry asked.
“We went to the movies. Same as you did I suppose.” Mark walked behind her.
“There you are. Shall we go?” He kissed her neck.
“In a minute.” He looked up.
“Kim, hi.” I waved with my free hand. My right hand was holding Harry’s.
“Can we go to the car now.” Mark said to Julie. She only smiled at him.
“Bye!” She waved and walked away with him.
“Shall we go back to your place?” I whispered in his ear.
He took me to his car and hold the door open so I could take a seat, afterwards he walked to his seat and started the car.
“Are you alright?” I asked. He didn’t said anything he just nod his head and looked back to the road.
“It’s Julie, isn’t it?” It didn’t seem like he was listening.
“Harry. Where are you going? You missed the turn.”
“I know. I want to take you somewhere.”
“You are scaring me.”
“Don’t. I’m not going to kill you. Just relax.” He picked my hand that was lying on my knee and brought it to his lips and gave it a kiss and then smiled to me.
“If you want to talk you know I’m here.” I squeeze his hand a little.

After a half hour drive the car stopped.
“That bad?” I joked getting out of the car and leaned to the car next to Harry.
“You know this place. It clears your head so good.”
“I know. I came here a lot. But it’s been awhile.”
“I’m sorry, Kim.” He started.
“For what?”
“I don’t know.”
“It’s alright. You feel bad about how things ended with Julie but you saw how happy she is with Mark, for some reason.” He laughed.
“I know and I didn’t think about her when we are together and she is not around, but seeing her with that guy..” I walked away from to car to the lake.
“Kimmie, wait. I’m sorry. There was something that I wanted to ask you tonight.”
“You are hurting me right now, you do know that.”
“Yes, and I want to talk to you about it. Please.” He handed a hand and I took it and we walked further away from the car.
“I don’t know what to do about me feelings for Julie. There are gone when I’m with you alone but when I see her, they come back.” Harry tells me.
“I know what you mean and I can’t help you with that, although I want too.” We sat down on a bench.
“Like now I want to kiss you…”
“When you are back from your promotion tour we will see what is going to happen.”
“But I don’t want to. I can’t be away from you for 2 whole months.” Harry putts his arm around me.
“You’ve been away for four years. You can survive two months.” I smiled.
“It’s different now.” Harry said.
“I know, it’s going to be hard for me to.” I felt the first tear rolling down.
We just sat there without saying a word for a while.
“Why don’t you come with me?” He said suddenly.
“What do you mean? Just leave everything here?” He smiled.
“Yeah you can work for us. I don’t what you can do but I will think of something.”
“I don’t know. What about my dad and the pub?”
“Talk to him, maybe he is ok with it. Please Kimmie?” He gave me that look again.
“Ok, why not! Can you drive me up there now?” We stud up and ran to the car.
