Old Friend

Back to now, I was working in the pub when my best friend Laura came in with her books. She was nearly finished with school.
“Kim, can you give me a big cup of coffee, please?” I nodded my head to her. She was sitting at a side table by the window. I brought her coffee over. It was very quiet that day. So I thought it was time for a little break. With my own cup of tea, I joined Laura . She was looked sad, so I asked her what the problem was.
“Well you would never guess. Chase broke up with me and his reason was that ’I’m too jealous’.” She said with a sarcastic face. Chase and Laura had known each other for a couple of years now. I never liked Chase but he made her happy so I was happy. She knew I was thinking about Chase.
“Now you can tell me; I told you so!”
“Laura, you know what I think about him but he made you happy. So I’m not going to give you that kind of talk.”
“Kim, are you done with your tea?” I heard my dad yelled at me. I looked at him.
“Yes almost. I’ll be there in a minute.” I looked back at Laura.
“Girl, it’s going to be alright. I have an idea. Why don’t we go out tonight? Just be crazy. Maybe you can get rid of your thoughts of Chase.” I stood up and walked back to the bar.
The afternoon Laura was sitting there without moving an inch. When it was 6 PM I was done working, grabbed my jacket and bag and walked over to her.
“Are you coming or do you want to spend some more time here?” Laura looked up. She nodded and gets her things together and we walked out of the pub.

We were getting ready for a good night out. Julie had just got a new boyfriend and she couldn’t stop talking about him, we would meet him later that night. I was going to drive that night.
We arrived at 'Touch'. We were late but we could found a seat. We ordered the drinks and I was looking for Julie and her new boyfriend. She told us how special he was but she never showed us his picture and didn’t even say his name.
After a view minutes Julie called us and she walked over and took a seat.
"Well, where is your guy?" Janet asked.
"He is getting me a drink. He will be here any minute." Julie answers.
A familiar person came walking towards our seat.
"Well girls, this is him. Harry, those girls are my best friends." Julie said to guy with a smile.
"You’re… I’m Janet." She smiled.
“I’m Laura, hi." The girls shock his hand.
"Kimmie, is it really you?" He asked me.
"Yes…" It took a few seconds before I knew who he was.
"Harold! O my gosh. Long time since I saw you." I hugged my old friend. Julie had a surprised look on her face.
"You know him. How nice." Julie responds.
“Everyone knows him, Julie. He is from One Direction.” Janet whispered to Julie.
That night Harry and me couldn’t stop talking.
"Where have you been?" I asked while Julie was on the dance floor with Laura and Janet.
"All over the world.” He smiled. “Just been busy with One Direction. As you might know.”
“Who would have thought that right?" Harry smiled like I used to remember.
"I never thought about it. I do know your music but…"
“But…? Great friend you are, Kimmie!” We laughed.
"Wow, guess you really made you dream come true. I’m proud of you." Julie, Janet and Laura came back over after I finished speaking.
"Harry, I want to go home." Julie said when she saw him.
"OK we will go than. Bye girls hope to see you soon. Kim, I will call you tomorrow, maybe we can chat some more." Harry stood up and was holding Julie’s hand.
“I still work in the pub my dad own. Just drop by anytime.”
“Will do!” He hugged me and left with Julie.
"Wow that's great to see an old friend again." Laura said.
"Yes it is." I was still shocked. It was nice seeing him again after so many years but I felt butterflies in my stomach now. Oh no, this is not good.
