All I ever wanted

Lucy's p.o.v

I had been experencing what felt like cramps the whole day but I didn’t want to ‘cry wolf’ so I hadn’t told Harry. It was now 3.22 in the morning and I couldn’t sleep because of the pain. After tossing and turning for another 15 minutes I decided to take a hot bath to ease the pain. I crawled out of bed, careful not waking Harry up and went in to the bathroom. I ran a hot bath for myself and sunk down in the water immediately feeling the pain ease. I sat there for about an hour before I thought I should try to get some sleep. I emptied the bathtub and put on a robe while feeling the pain switch from getting better to only getting worse. Now it was like really bad cramps. I bit my tongue not to growl and took a deep breath before going back in to the bedroom. I put my hands on the bed and rocked back and forth while concentrating on my breathing.

Suddenly it felt like someone grabbed my uterus, ripped it out and stepped on it. I screamed in pain and poor Harry sat up with a horrified expression. ‘’Oh my god, Lucy?’’ he said rushing over to me ‘’I….I think it’s...it’s time...n-now’’ I got out between my heavy breathing. ‘’Yes. Okay uhm...yes. I...I’m gonna get the keys’’ Harry was clearly stressed out his mind but I couldn’t calm him down since I was in so much pain. I watched Harry as he put on a t-shirt and sweatpants before placing a steady hand on my back and led me downstairs. We got downstairs and Harry was running around doing God knows what. ‘’Harry what are you doing?’’ he stopped and looked at me confused ‘’I’m getting the keys’’ ‘’the keys are in your hand, baby’’ I said and he looked down to see the keys in his hand. ‘’Let’s go’’ he said and led me out to the car. He opened the passenger door and helped me inside. ''Seatbelt'' Harry said and I shook my head ''I can't take the pressure on the stomach'' he nodded and went over to the drivers seat. The whole 20 minute, felt like a year, ride to the hospital Harry had one hand in front of me in case he had to hit the breakes.
‘’I need you to call your mum, Eleanor, Niall, Louis, Liam and Sophia. Call them in that order’’ I said leaning back in the seat trying to breathe. Harry took up his phone and called his mum in no time. ‘’Mum? We’re on our way to the hospital, you need to hurry’’ he said before hanging up. He called everyone else before we arrived to the hospital.

‘’Heartbeat looks strong. You’re doing good, Lucy. Almost time to push now’’ my nurse told me and I got more nervous by the minute. ‘’Is your mum here soon? I really need her here’’ I said to Harry who sat next to me holding my hand. I had grown so close to Harry’s mum over the months sine my own mum pretty much had disowned me. Anne had been there through thick and thin and right now I really needed her support. ‘’She’ll be here soon, love. Don’t worry’’ Harry said and stroke my hand. ‘’Can you go out and call her?’’ I asked and he nodded and stood up ‘’I don’t wanna leave you alone though’’ ‘’send in El or Niall’’ I said annoyed. Why can’t he just do what I say? A moment later Eleanor stepped in. ‘’Are we ready for the baby, mummy?’’ she said cherfully sitting down on the chair ‘’as ready as I can be’’ I said panting. ‘’Do you have everything you need or do you want me to get you something?’’ I was in the middle of a contraction so I just angrily shook my head at her.

‘’Okay Lucy I think we are ready to push’’ my doctor came in to the room ‘’no, no, no’’ I shook my head. ‘’Harry and Anne isn’t here’’ I said feeling the panic grow. ‘’Lucy darling, we can’t post pone labour’’ the doctor said. I grabbed Eleanor’s arm, a little too hard because she flinched, ‘’go find them’’ I growled and she immediately stood up and left the room. ‘’I’m going to need you start pushing, honey’’ the doctor said ‘’no, I’m closing my legs. This baby is not coming out unless Harry’s here’’ I yelled just as the door opened again. ‘’I’m here, baby. I’m here’’ Harry rushed inside with his mum following him. Thank god. I bursted out in tears as the came to my side. ''Hey, what's going on?'' Harry said concerned ''I'm scared'' I sniffled. Harry was stood on one side of the bed as he too my hand and squeezed it. ''Everything's gonna be okay, you can do this'' he said soothing. Anne came on the other side giving me a kiss on the cheek and started stroking my arm. ‘’It’s time Lucy’’ the doctor said and I took a deep breath. ‘’Let’s do this’’ I said confidently.

‘’GIVE ME THE FUCKING EPIDURAL’’ I screamed. If I thought the pain I experienced before was bad, that would qualify as heaven right now. I was crying. I was screaming. And I was turning poor Harry’s hand blue. An hour later I was exhausted. I don’t think I can do another push. ‘’Lucy we can see the head’’ I heard the doctor say and it was like I was given more power all of sudden. I saw Harry trying to peek down there and I grabbed him by his collar ‘’don’t you fucking dare’’ I growled making him laugh nervously. ‘’I think the baby’s head’s too big get me the vacuum ectraction’’ the doctor said and first it felt like someone was pushing the baby back inside and I thought I was going to faint from the pain. But then I heard ‘plop’ and the baby was out.

‘’It’s a healthy boy. Ten fingers, ten toes, congratulations’’ the doctor said and I started to sob. ‘’It’s a boy’’ I smiled and looked at Harry who was wiping tears from his eyes. ‘’Does daddy want to cut the umbilical cord?’’ the doctor asked and Harry’s eyes lit up as he nodded. ‘’Congratulations mummy’’ the nurse said and I got my little lad on my chest. And when he took his first breath and started crying I just zoned out. All I could hear was him, all I could see was him and he was so beautiful. I started to sob as soon as I saw him. He was taken away from me too soon to be washed up and both Harry and I cried as we watched him. ‘’You did great, Luce. You’re so strong I’m so so proud of you’’ Harry said and kissed me. I got my….my son back on my chest and he cuddled right into me. I was feeling so many emotions at one time it was quite hard to focus. I was happy. Happy that he was healthu excited, nervous and scared. But mostly I felt love. The second he was put on my chest I loved him. And I would continue on loving him and caring for him until the day I die.

Harry's p.o.v


''Would you like to get the others so they can meet him?'' ''huh?'' I looked up from my son where he was lying in my arms sleeping. ''Think our friends might want to meet our son'' Lucy gave me a tired smile. She looked exhausted, but only she can make exhausted look beautiful. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she had dark cirkles under her eyes, still incredibly beautiful. After this day I'd never think twice about her strenght, she's so much stronger and tougher than me. I look up to her. She's my inspiration. I stood up careful not to wake the sleeping infant in my arms and placed him in his mother's arms. ''I love you, Lucy'' I kissed her cheek and left the room to get our friends. They all stood up as soon as I entered the waiting room. They looked excited, nervous and tired. ''It's a boy'' I grinned as they started to cheer. ''Lucy is extremely tired so it has to be a short visit, but you should come back tomorrow when she has more energy'' I said and everyone was very understanding. I brought them inside with me and soon revealed the two most perfect humans in my life. ''Hey'' Lucy smiled. I stood next to the bed and looked at our friends. ''Niall, Louis, El, Soph and Liam. Meet Tyler Edward Styles''.
I watched as our friends took turns holding mine and Lucy's little lad and for the first time in a long time I just knew, we were going to be okay.
