All I ever wanted

Lucy's p.o.v

It was the 31st of December, also known as New Years Eve. Harry and I had planned a dinner and then it was some huge New Years party he wanted to attend. I was fine with whatever, as long as he was with me. I was done with my hair and makeup for the evening and walked out to the living room in our suite where Harry was waiting. ''You look handsome'' I said noticing his Gucci suit, ''and you look crazy beautiful'' he smiled as I twirled for him. ''You ready to go?'' he nodded towards the door, ''yup, just gonna send a happy new year text to our friends'' this was the first New Year celebration without our friends and it made me kind of sad. We literally spend every New Years together but this year everyone had different plans. ''Done'' I said and put down my phone in my little Chanel bag. We followed security to the garage where a car was waiting for us. I climbed in the backseat and Harry came after me. He put his arm around me and started humming as the car drove through Paris.

We arrived at a nice restaurant and got a private table in the back. A lot of people looking of course, but that didn't bother me anymore. ''Welcome to Deux Rienne, I'm Madelyn and I will be your waitress tonight'' a brunette gave us our menus with a smile. ''Thank you Madelyn'' Harry said and she giggled and walked away. ''She totally has a crush on you'' I laughed, ''what can I say? I'm pretty good looking'' he smirked and I hit him with the menu. ''I can't read this, it's in french'' Harry said and put down his menu with a sigh, ''well obviously. We are in France, honey'' I laughed. ''Just order some chicken for me and I'll be fine'' he said and started playing with my Infinity bracelet. He had given it to me on our one-year anniversary. Can't believe we've been together for four years now. The waitress came back with a big smile on her face, ''are you ready to order?'' she looked at Harry. ''We are'' I said and she turned to me, ''We'll have this, this and this'' I pointed in the menu and she wrote it up. ''Drinks?'' she asked ''red wine, please'' I said and she disappeared with a nod. We didn't have to wait long for our food and I saw Harry wrinkle his nose when he looked at the little side order I the waitress had brought, on my wishes. ''What the bloody hell is that green mess?'' he asked when the waitress had left. ''Side dish, it's rude not to try it'' I said, he shrugged and took up his fork. He stared at the green mess before placing it in mouth and started chewing with a disgusted face. That's when I bursted out laughing. ''Lucy what exactly is this?'' ''escargot'' I said playing innocent. ''What exactly is escargot?'' ''snails'' he immediately stopped chewing before grabbing a napkin spitting it out while I was laughing my ass off. ''You tricked me in to eating snails, you idiot?'' he said but couldn't help to smile, ''you should read the menu next time'' I said wiping away tears that had fallen from my laughs. ''Your turn'' he said and placed one escargot on his fork and waved it in front of my mouth, ''okay'' I smirked and opened my mouth. He practically shoved his fork in my mouth making me grab the fork myself and started chewing. I have him back his fork while I tried my hardest not to make a face. ''It's really good actually'' I said with my mouth full, ''oh really?'' he smirked just as I felt sick. I spat it out and chugged my glass of wine. This time it was Harry who laughed his ass out.

We sat on the restaurant until 10.45pm and we were a little late to the party. But, as the Queen says in my favorite movie 'The princess diaries' 'a queen is never late, everyone else is simply early'. Not that I compare myself with a queen but...ugh. I'm so glad no one knows what I'm thinking, other wise no one would probably talk to me. ''Ernest, can you swing by the Eiffel Tower, Lucy hasn't seen it by night'' Harry said to our driver, ''oh my god, Harry'' I squealed. ''But aren't we already late?'' ''doesn't matter if we arrive now or in half an hour'' he shrugged and started playing with my hand.

Harry's p.o.v

I was so nervous I can't believe she hasn't noticed all night. Our driver dropped us off close to the Eiffel Tower, there were so many people down there in front of it and I wanted this to be a private moment. I didn't want to cause a scene. Lucy walked a few steps in front of me with her hand still in mine. She let go of my hand and leaned against the fence looking out over the Eiffel Tower. My hear was about to explode out of my chest. I had only been this nervous one time, the first time One Direction performed at Madison Square Garden. And this was even bigger. She stood with her back to me when I took out the little blue box from my pocket. I kneel down on one knee and took a deep breath. ''Beautiful, isn't it?'' she sighed, still with her back towards me. ''Yes you are'' I said. She spun around and her jaw dropped as she laid her eyes on me. ''Lucy'' I said and she walked over to me with wide eyes and hands covering her mouth. ''You are the best thing that has happened to me. You are genuine, kind and truly amazing. I'm so lucky to be able to call myself yours. Through the years we have been through tough times, heart ache, fights, tears. But also good times, laughs, hugs, kisses. When you walk in to the room, it brightens up my day. No matter how shitty it was a second before. I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see you, and when you laugh...It's like I forget how to breathe'' I made a pause when tears started to stream down her face. She smiled and I continued. ''Falling in love with my best friend was possibly the best thing that could happen. I know we both were insecure in the beginning, I mean it happened right before our eyes. You were the girl I used to text when I had an awkward date and turned in to the one I wanted to kiss at the end of the night. I wish there were more hours of the day because I can't get enough of your time. I love that until this day we still are best friends who make fun of each other and play fight. I love the way you love me, unconditionally. I love the thought of having mini versions of us running around in a couple years. Because you are that person. You are the one I want to spend my life with. You are the one. Lucy Wellington, will you marry me?'' I opened the box and she let out a sob before starting to jump up and down. ''Yes, yes, yes'' she squealed. I stood up and reached for her left hand, she was shaking so much when I placed the diamond ring on her finger. I lifted her up and kissed her before spinning her around. ''I love you'' I said as I put her down, ''and I love you'' she said and kissed me again.

Lucy's p.o.v

We were in a car heading somewhere I didn't know. I was too busy looking at my finger that now had a diamond ring on it. ''I need to tell you something'' I said and looked up at my beautiful...fiance. ''I might have known you were gonna propose, I didn't know when but...I found the ring four months ago'' I blurted out hoping he wouldn't be mad but he chuckled lightly. ''I know'' ''wait what? How did you know?'' I asked, ''because you told El, El told Lou and Lou told me. It's okay, I bet you were surprised it would happen tonight anyway'' he smiled and kissed my cheek. ''Are you kidding? I had no idea'' I said truthfully. To be honest I had forgot I found the ring so it was a surprise. ''I can't believe we're engaged'' I sighed and went back to eyeing my ring, ''you like it?'' Harry nodded towards the ring, ''love it'' I smiled.

''You remember Natalie who answered my phone a couple of months ago?'' ''how could I forget?'' I snorted but gave him a quick smile. This was not the time to act like a bitch. ''She works at Tiffany's, where I bought your ring. She helped me customize it, get your size, she basically helped me with everything'' he said and I mentally face palmed, ''I feel so stupid now, do you know how much I hated that girl for answering your phone?'' I let out a laugh. ''Mr Styles, we're here'' our driver said and stopped the car. It looked like we were on some kind of club, but it looked completely dead. ''Are you sure this is the right address?'' I asked when we got out of the car, ''positive'' Harry said and hooked his arm in mine. We walked inside and I noticed the security didn't follow us in and it made me paranoid. ''Harry I wanna leave'' I said when it suddenly was pitch black dark, I held on to Harry's arm for dear life, ''Harry you know I don't like the dark. Please can we leave ple..'' ''SURPRISE'', I screamed of fright when the lights turned on revealing all of my friends, Harry's family, his friends and people I had spoken briefly to.

With my mouth wide open in shock I looked to see a huge banner that said 'CONGRATULATIONS HARRY AND LUCY' and the club was very party decorated. ''Welcome to our engagement party'' Harry grabbed my waist and gave me a passionate kiss and people started to cheer. ''I can't believe you're here, I knew you were up to something'' I said and gave Eleanor a hug as she and Louis came up to us. ''I know, this dummie almost blew our cover yesterday'' El laughed and hit Louis' arm playfully. ''Sorry. How you you doing, love?'' Louis said and kissed my cheek. ''I'm engaged, I'm doing great'' I grinned making them both laugh. ''My little Lucyloose is engaged'' I turned to see my favorite Irish man grinning at me and I gave him a bone crushing hug, ''I've missed you, Leprechaun'' I said and let go of him ''there she is'' Liam came over and lifted me up in a hug making me let out a loud laugh. ''I can't believe you all are here'' I said. I was on the verge of tears. Once again my friends had been able to fool me with a surprise party. ''Out of my way, I need to see the ring'' I looked to see Gemma pushing through the crowd that now surrounded me and Harry. Everyone wanted to congratulate us. I reached for Gemma's hand and pulled her towards me and immediately gave her a bone crushing hug. ''We're gonna be related. Finally'' Gemma gushed and reached for my left hand and let out a scream. ''I can't believe my brother has such good taste'' she said making me laugh, ''a little birdy told me he had some help'' I smiled.

''Poppet'' Harry's mum pushed through the crowd ''congratulations'' she said and pulled me in for a hug. ''Thank you Anne'' I smiled and hugged back. ''Have you seen my parents?'' I figured since Harry's family were here mine would be too. Anne let go of me with a frown, ''they really wanted to be here but..'' she began but I cut her off ''it's fine. I need a minute'' I smiled and pushed through the crowd trying to find the exit. I smiled and said thank you to the people I passed. When I finally found an exit I stumbled out in an alley, guess the wine had taken it's turn on me. I leaned against the building as the tears started to fall, just breathe. ''Baby?'' Harry had stepped out after me and immediately took me into his arms hushing me. ''I just feel like they should be here, y'know? Your parents are here. It's like I died with Ty because they don't even care anymore'' I sobbed into his chest. He stroke my hair gently, ''everyone goes through grief different. They'll come out of it, they just need time'' he whispered. He let me cry for a moment before I decided to pull myself together. This was our engagement party. I wasn't going to ruin the night for everyone else because my parents decided not to show up. ''I'm sorry'' I said and wiped away my tears, ''don't be'' he smiled and gave me a kiss. ''I'm ready to go back inside'' I forced a smile and grabbed his hands. Together we walked back inside. To our engagement party.

Ugh I have been wanting to write this chapter for so long and when I finally do I'm not fully satisfied with it. I hope you guys like it anyway. I'm not sure where to take the story after this, I have something planned but I'm pretty much clueless. So please comment if you have an idea, will of course give credit if I use your idea :)
