The Hipsters and The Girl
Leaving is never easy
Louis’s POV
I’m not ready to leave yet. My family means the world to me and I have to leave again. I continued packing as my mind was filled with memories of before I left for the X-Factor.
“Hey Lou?” My mom asked form the doorway with a cup of coffee in her hands.
“Goodmorning mom.” I set my shirt down and walked over to her with a smile on my face.
“Good morning.” She handed me the coffee and kissed my cheek. “What time do you and Lexi leave?”
“Our flight’s at 6:00 and we’re going to America.” I looked down at the coffee in my hands. “Mom, can I take you and the girls out for lunch please? It would just be us because Alex is going to have lunch with her parents and all of their “new additions”.” I knew that wasn’t going to go well but hey, its her idea.
“That sounds like it’s going to be awkward.” My mom laughed to herself. “I have an idea. Why don’t we all go together; me, the girls, Alex and her family and you? It’s going to be hectic but it sounds like it would work better than leaving her alone with her family and I want to see her mom.”
“Sure, that sounds way better than the other idea. I will have her call her parents when she gets out of the shower and then I’ll let you know but no matter what, we’re going out.” I looked into my mom’s eyes.
She smiled at me and then left the room. As soon as the door closed, I heard the shower turn off.
Alex’s POV
“Well I guess this is goodbye.” My dad said as he looked down at his feet.
“Yea.” I mumbled not knowing what to say.
“I love you sissy please come back and see us soon.” My dad sounded choked up which made me know that he was serious.
“I love you too dad.” I hugged him and felt his hug me back.
Now I have to say goodbye to his kids…I mean my siblings. I know that I say I love them and it isn't their fault but in a way I cant stand them because they get my dad and I don’t.
“Bye boys, it was nice to meet you.” I knelt down and hugged each of them.
“Bye Alex.” They all mumbled back to me and then I stood up and looked at Joey.
“Alright, I know that you barely know me but I trust you to take care of this family okay? Don’t let my dad mess up again please.” I was whispering into Joey’s ear. “Please just promise me that you’ll look our for the boys and Anniemae.”
“I promise.” He nodded at me. “I wont let them get hurt by dad.”
“Thank you. I’m sorry that I cant be here to protect you from him but I’m only a call away. Call me whenever you need to, I’m always here for you Joey.” I looked into his eyes as he nodded, I handed him my phone number and then was embraced tightly by him.
“I love you Alex.” He mumbled into my shoulder.
“I love you too.” I smiled rubbing his back until he let go of me. “Alright, I gotta go, call me tonight.”
“I will.” He smiled at me and then slipped my number into his pocket.
I went on saying goodbye until we were done. Louis let go of his mom as I let go of mine. I knew that he wasn’t happy to leave and I could tell that he was breaking but he would hold it together until we were alone. We looked at each other and weaved our fingers together.
“It’s time to go.” He mumbled to me and I nodded.
We looked back at our families and saw our moms clinging to each other with tears in their eyes and then kept walking. I gripped his hand a little tighter as I fought tears.
