a band of cousins
all grown up
I stepped out of the warm shower and dried myself off quickly. I threw my robe on and stepped out of the bathroom. Sydney rushed past me, thinking that she would be late. Usually she showers first but I got to today.
Ellie, Abbi, and Taylor walk out of the other bathrooms. Anna and Mara rushed in. Ellie helps me put my hair up in my towel while Abbi turns on the radio and Taylor sets up the stuff.
The room has four bathrooms. The majority of the time Sydney and I share a bathroom, Anna and Abbi, and Mara and Taylor. Ellie kind of gets it to herself but occasionally some friends will come over and use that one. The room also has seven closets. That's one for each of us. We all share our clothes but we still have our own closets. There are two cabinets filed with hair supplies and makeup. We have seven stools in front of a table with a huge mirror. We generally don't use all of the stools at once but we still have them all. Abbi and Ellie sat down on two stools.
I plug in the blow dryer, straightener, and curling iron. I usually do their hair, even though they are all older, because they say I am the best. I don't really think I am but I do it anyway.
Ellie's hair was naturally a little wavy so I straightened it. I pinned her forehead bangs back with a headband. I put a small amount of foundation and some blush on. I put some eye liner and mascara on. Her eye lashes are blonde so I had to put on a lot so that you could see her eye lashes. I didn't put any eyeshadow on her because she doesn't like it. She went to her closet and opened it. She pulled out a coral one shouldered dress that hung down from her body. She wore some white heels. She came back over to help me anyway she could.
I curled Abbi's hair with a small wand. I straightened her bangs. I put a little foundation on but didn't put any blush on because Abbi blushed enough on her own. I carefully put on eye liner, mascara, and a touch of purple eyeshadow. She got up and walked to her closet. She pulled out the outfit she was going to wear today. It was a purple dress with small straps that went down to her knees. The skirt of it was not too tight against her body. She had a big white belt and white heels. She then sat down carefully on the bed.
I curled Taylor's hair and braided her hair around the back. I added some foundation and blush. I put on a little eye liner and mascara. She decided that she wanted some eyeshadow so I put on some light brown eyeshadow. She opened her closet and pulled out the outfit. It was a light blue sundress that flowed down close to her body. She had on a thin light brown belt with light brown wedges to matches.
Taylor walked back to the music and looked through the songs. Anna, Mara, and Sydney come out of the bathrooms and wait patiently for me. They pick out their outfits and hair and makeup while they wait.
I curled Mara's hair. I put on some foundation and blush. She put on her own mascara because she doesn't like people too close to her eyes. I put on her eye liner and green eyeshadow though. Her outfit, that she pulled from her closet, was a green dress. It was not skin tight but still pretty tight. It had long sleeves. It had a thin black belt and black heels. When she was finished she sat back on the bed.
I curled Anna's hair and put it up in a cute high ponytail. I put on foundation and blush. Then I put on some eye liner,mascara, and some light eyeshadow. I don't trust her to do any makeup because she puts tons on and messes up a lot. She walked to her closet and threw it open. She put on a lavender dress, it went down to her knees. The dress had cool straps. She had on lavender heels even though she didn't need them. She was really tall already.
Sydney did her own makeup but I did her hair. I curled her hair tight and straightened her bangs. She put on a lot of makeup but I didn't say anything to her because I guess she liked it like that. She ran to her closet like she was going to be late. She pulled out a red skin tight dress. Her heels were really high and silver sparkly. She continued to fix herself up until we were all ready.
I finally did my own hair and makeup. I put my hair in a cute up-do with a braided headband. I put on a tiny bit of foundations and blush. I added a little bit of tan eyeshadow with eye liner and mascara. Anna and Ellie helped me slip into my dress. It was a one shoulder dress that poofed out a little. It was a light pink, usually not my color, and it had a sparkly middle and a small upper section was sparkly. I added some sparkly converse sneakers and I was about ready to go.
We walked downstairs when we were all ready. Brady and Jake were waiting in the living room. They were dressed in jeans and a button up shirt. They are so lucky they don't have to dress up.
"Nice dresses," Jake said after he looked at us.
"Cool hair," Brady said.
Nana and Papa walked in from the kitchen.
"You girls look beautiful," Nana said with a huge smile.
"My little girls are all grown up," Papa said.
We all thanked them and got in the cars.
