End Of The Day

I’ve been thinking all day about what Tracy said. Yet as I arrive at Louis’, I’m still unsure of my answer.
Louis opens the door wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Such a simple outfit, yet he looks impeccable. I’ve chosen to wear a red skater type dress with white converse.
“You look beautiful, Lea. Red is definitely your color.”
I blush yet again. “Thank you, Louis. You are looking handsome as always.”
“Thanks, Love. Dinner isn’t quite ready. How about a walk on the beach first?”
“I’d love that.”
As we pass by the kitchen I look over to see someone in a chef’s coat. “Louis, did you hire a professional chef to make us dinner?”
“Yes.”
I stop walking, he stops also. “What is it?”
“Louis, you didn’t have to do that. I could have made us something.”
He grins. “I was trying to impress you, Darling.”
I tilt my head, looking into his sweet blue eyes. “You don’t have to spend money to impress me.” I take his hand. “You impressed me the first day I met you. And it didn’t take money or fame. Just you.”
Louis squeezes my hand. The words just come honestly from my heart. I can tell they mean a lot to him though. He leans in for a kiss, then pulling back. “How about that walk now?”
We stop on the deck to remove our shoes before continuing out onto the sand. I look ahead to the ocean, its waves crashing against the shore. Such a beautiful view. I could never imagine having a private beach as my backyard.
Louis takes my hand as we begin walking towards the water. “How was your day, Lea?”
“It was pretty good.”
“Did you worry?”
I shake my head. “No. Every time I started to worry, I thought about you telling me not to.”
He laughs. “Good. I like that. Can I make a confession?”
“Of course.”
“I called Tracy today to make sure you were ok. I was worried about you.”
I’m surprised. “Louis, why didn’t you just call me?”
He hesitates. “I didn’t want you to think I was pressuring you.”
I wrap my arms around his neck. One hand on his back, the other in his hair. “I wouldn’t have thought that. I would have thought how lucky I am to have such an amazing man concerned about me.”
He looks into my eyes. His looking even bluer than they were moments ago. “You think I’m amazing?”
I smirk. “Have I not made that clear enough?” I don’t wait for an answer. I move in to
kiss him. As I take his soft bottom lip between mine I tug at it with my teeth. When I feel his tongue, I happily open my lips to it. I can’t suppress my moans as his tongue aggressively explores. As he begins to pull back I bite it gently. Following through on my suggestion from this morning.
“Damn, Love.” Louis tells me in a raspy voice.
I grin as I run my fingers through his hair, grasping a handful. Watching as he slowly closes his eyes. “You like that?”
“Mmm, yes.” Louis says as he gently lays his forehead against mine. “Have you thought about my offer, Love?”
“I have. It’s just...I…” I pause.
Louis pulls back slightly to meet my eyes, still so close to me. “What is it? You can tell me anything, Lea.”
“I’m just not used to depending on someone else. I’ve always had to take care of myself, solve my own problems. No knights in shining armor for me.”
Louis leans in to kiss me sweetly. “How about this one time, you let me rescue you?”
His sweet honest eyes cause my own to fill with tears. My heart does that damn flutter thing again. Words won’t come, I nod my head yes instead.
Louis pulls me tightly into his arms, kissing the top of my head. I relax into him, knowing without a doubt that I’ve finally found my knight in shining armour.
