End Of The Day

Honestly, I’m not sure how I made it to work. I was so distracted by Louis’ kisses. And the way he looks at me, I swear my heart melts.
There is this annoying little voice inside that keeps asking me what the hell I’m doing. Reminding me that he lives in another country. Insisting I can’t have him and my career. I continue to tell that little voice to shut the hell up. Being with Louis feels so good, I don’t want to focus on logic.

“Good morning, Lea. How are you sweetie?”
I give Tracy the look. “Well…”
“Sit down and tell me all about it. Can I grab you some breakfast first?”
“No thanks. I had a banana at Louis’.”
She turns around quickly. Her eyes squinted. “Is that an euphemism for something else?”
I laugh so hard I almost fall out of my chair. Once I regain my composure I tell her. “Not yet, Tracy, not yet.”
She grins. “Hmm, that sounds promising. So what’s the problem then?”
I share the whole Monica story with her. Including Louis’ offer.
“I think you should take him up on his offer.”
“Tracy, are you sure that’s the right thing for me to do?”
“Lea, life is too short to overthink everything. Besides he seems like a great guy. The look he gets in his eyes whenever I’ve seen him talk about you is incredible. He’s crazy about you.”
I smile. “I’m pretty crazy about him too. It’s just, I’ve always taken care of myself.”
Tracy touches my arm. “Then Sweetie, maybe it’s time you let this handsome prince save you.”
