The Princess, The Straight-A Student, The Gang, And The Blue Hills At Sunset

Chapter 2: The Note

"What's going on?" I asked. Mom and dad looked at each other. Mom looked at me and said, "Honey, I just got off the phone with my boss. He said that Gina, a gal that I work with, quit her job and he wants me to take over her job until further notice." I stood there shocked. "Did you try reasoning with him?" I asked. She nodded. "Yes, I did, but to no avail." She said. "Well, on the bright side, I'll be able to spend the summer with dad." I said, trying to get people being positive again. "Yeah, there's always that" They said in unison. Whenever they say the same thing in unison, its a little creepy. We were interrupted by our thoughts by my phone ringing. I went upstairs and answered it. "Hello?" "Hey Liv!" "Hey Sylvie! Ya ready to come over?" "Yeah, um, my parents aren't home so I'll just walk over." "I have an idea; how about we meet halfway?" "Sounds good." "Okay, see ya soon. Bye!" "Bye." I began the long walk. Just to the halfway mark is long, let alone all the way to her house! Ever get that strange feeling that someone is following you? I never have, that is, until now. I didn't go faster or slower on my walk. Just kept it cool. I was finally at the halfway mark, though Sylvie was no where in sight. I sat down at the river's edge just thinking of everything that happened. I felt so overwhelmed. No matter how hard I try, I'm almost always stressed out. All of a sudden, I felt a firm grip on my shoulder that pulled me up. Which may I add, hurt a lot! I turned around, not so shocked to see 4/5 of One Direction standing right in front of me. "So, this is your little hideout? Doesn't look like much of a hiding spot to me." Louis said, laughing. The others laughed as well. "Actually, no. Me and my friend like to hang out here." I said. WHY DID I JUST SAY THAT???!!! They looked at me. Did I feel insecure? No. I mean, what kind of person thinks they're alone and then is picked up by their shoulder to see the most dangerous gang in Arizona right in front of them? OF COURSE I FELT INSECURE! I looked behind them and saw Sylvie in the distance. "SYLVIE!" I yelled. They looked behind which gave me a chance to run. I ran to Sylvie and gave her a giant hug. "I am so glad to see you right now." I whispered. "Back to your house?" "Yep." I said instantly. We finally made it back and went up to my room. I shut the door and the window. "What was that all about?" Sylvie asked. "I have no idea but earlier, that Louis guy gave me this." I said, pulling out the note he gave me. "Have you read it yet?" "No. Not yet." I opened it up and we read it.Dear Olivia, Yes we know who you are. And we know you know us. We want you to meet us at the school next weekend. Just you. Don't bring anyone else or any kind of electronics. Meet us there at 6:00 pm exactly. If you don't meet us there, there will be consequences. And don't tell anyone else about this note. -One Direction
"Oh no. Liv, what are you gonna do?" "I don't know Syl. I can't believe I'm saying this but I am so scared. If I do go, they're probably going to try to hurt me. And if I don't go, they're probably going to hurt you or my family." I said. I'll have to make my decision soon. We move on from that subject and played a few games. Before we knew it dinner was ready. Mom made her famous spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and ranch. Most of the time we spent having a good laugh about things. I didn't tell my parents about what happened in school or what happened.when I went to go meet Sylvie. After dinner, me and Sylvie went downstairs and practiced dancing to our favorite songs. Of course we changed into more comfortable clothing. We danced to Sabrina Carpenter's Eyes Wide Open and We'll Be The Stars, Dove Cameron's What A Girl Is and Set It Off, and Britt Nicole's Ready Or Not. Without a doubt, Set It Off is the hardest one to learn. Before we knew it, it was time for her to leave. Me and my mom gave her a ride back home. It seemed like the ride only lasted a few seconds, and then we were back home.

@Call_Me_Godot
Thank you for the tips I will definitely take them into consideration. BTW I was up late last night writing this so not all of it came out exactly how I wanted it to. So again thank you for the tips.

I think throwing French in there is really cool but Sylvie and Olivia's conversation is a bit formal. Instead of bonjour or au revoir, you could've gone with salut. And typically using vous verbs is something you do respectfully, like talking to adults or someone who holds more authority over you or when you're speaking to a stranger. Parlez-vous francais was the right thing to ask Louis as Oliva doesn't know him personally but she'd ask Sylvie parles francais?

Its just like you'd ask a stranger hello how are you but you'd ask your best friend hey what's up. :P
