When I woke up the next morning, I remembered my crazy dream. Niall and I were talking, and getting a long well, and he asked for my phone number! I had to be to class in an hour. I made myself some breakfast and checked my phone. I had a text from an unknown number. Who could that be? I opened the message and read, “Hey Kayla, it’s Niall have fun at class ;)” OH MY GOD IT WASN’T A DREAM!!! I thought excitedly. “Hey, thanks I’m about to leave now xoxo.” I replied. I quickly put his number into my contacts, and then called Lindsey. “Hello?” she said tiredly. “Oh my god Lindsey, you’re never going to believe what just happened!!!” I said speaking really fast. “Whoa whoa slow down, and breathe. What happened?!?” She said excitedly. I took a deep breath and then said, “Niall texted me!!!” I practically screamed. “Wait what, he texted you what did he say? What did you say?!?” “He basically said hey it’s Niall have fun at class with a winky face, and I just said hey thanks I’m about to leave now.” I said. “Oh my gosh he texted you!” now she’s screaming. “I know! Ok I got to go I’ll meet you in the lobby in ten minutes.” I said. “Ok bye,” she said before hanging up the phone. I have always liked Niall, not because he’s famous or rich, but in all actuality I liked him even before I heard him sing and before he was famous. I found their video diaries on YouTube, back in 2010, before I even heard them sing. I quickly got dressed, brushed my hair and teeth, did my makeup, and met Lindsey in the lobby of our apartment building. As we walked to the campus a block down, my phone vibrated. “Is that Niall?” Lindsey asked, nudging my arm with her elbow, and a slight grin moving her, and eye brows up and down.”Ummm, yeah” I said, pulling my phone out of my pocket, and checking my phone. “What did he say?” “Hold on! Gosh clam down he’s just a regular person!” I said giggling at her excitement. “I know, you’re right, sorry.” She said taking a deep breath. I opened the message and it said, “What time do you have lunch? Maybe we can meet up?” “AHHH” I heard Lindsey squeal quietly. I knew immediately she read the message over my shoulder. I hit her shoulder lightly. “Stop snooping!” I said laughing. “Sorry I can’t help it. I feel like you wouldn’t tell me.” She said. “You’re my best friend, of course I would tell you, I tell you everything.” She smiled, and I looked back at my phone to reply. “Sounds great! I have lunch at 12:30.” I replied as we walked on campus. “Great! Want me to pick you up outside the school at 12:35? He said. “Sounds good, I have until 2:00 then, I need to be back.” I typed back, “Alright I’ll let you go now. See you then! ;)” “Ok bye J” I replied. Class starts in 10 minutes. I stood there smiling at my phone. Then, I looked up to see Lindsey looking at me anxiously. I handed her my phone quickly. She didn’t have to ask I already knew what she was going to say. “You know, I haven’t seen you this happy in a long time. It’s nice to see you this way,” she said smiling before reading the messages. A huge smile spread across her face as she read more. “Looks like someone has herself a date.” She said smirking. “I don’t know if it’s considered a date. Let’s say it’s more like friends hanging out.” I said smiling. I’m totally willing to give things a try with Niall, but I am going to keep a little bit of a guard up, I can’t have another repeat of my past relationship. Lindsey had the same problem in her previous relationship. Heart break happens all too often, and I don’t want to be next. She handed my phone back, and I put it away. We walked to our first class together, and I smiled the entire way. I can’t wait until 12:30! I thought to myself.
