Something Good Can Work

I've been in this hospital room for almost two weeks now. My lungs keep filling with fluid and they have drained them three times. They want to monitor me while I adjust to my new medications. My heart is the problem.
They said its congestive heart failure, apparently I had an undiagnosed heart condition. Basically, my heart was not pumping like it should have been, causing my lungs to fill with fluid. I hadn't noticed how swollen I'd been, since I was in bed for almost a week.
I could have died, it could have gotten that bad.
Luckily, I'd woken Lou up who had in turn gotten gran and called an ambulance. This hospital is cozier than the ones back home. The nurses are not awful either. I'm hoping I'll be out this weekend, I've seen Lou and Harry--no one else.
I was surprised to see Alison when she knocked on my door. Har was at school and gran was at home, taking a break. "Hey, Ali." I couldn't deny our last meeting was weird, she'd been a little peeved because of the kiss. She sat down in the chair next to my bed, giving me a smile.
"How are you? We've all been so worried..." Her voice was soft and caring.
"I have been better, I laughed slightly before choking on air and coughing. "Sorry, still feeling a little out of it. How have you been?" I changed the subject quickly.
"I've been okay, I didn't want to bombard you and with what happened at the party...with Niall...I just didn't know how to face you." She spoke quickly and i could tell she was fighting tears.
"What, why?" I arched a brow. "Because. I'll never be you and I was so mad at you after the party. Everyone falls at your feet--you can have any guy and I know that Niall thinks of you more than me and if you ever decided you want him, you could merely snap your fingers and he'd come running..." Spoken with such resentment.
"I..." What do I even say to this? "I can't help that Ali. I'm sorry, I love Harry though. I love him with all of me and I promise if I have anything to do with it...I will always be his. I want Niall to be happy and you too. Especially if that's together, but if it's not then babe you gotta move on..." I was feeling a little winded.
My doctor told me not to get worked up. I think Ali could tell how it was effecting me, because her face looked terrified.

"Knock knock" perfect timing, Harry peeked his head in the door and then stepped in.
"You all right love?" He asked as he walked near me, taking my hand in his.
"I've got to go...I'm sorry summer..." Ali said sheepishly before scurrying out the door. Harry gave me a look.
"She is mad at me because Niall likes me..." I say with a sigh, catching my breath.
"So I heard...." He said with grin, sitting on the side of my bed.
"Oh? What else did you hear..?" I felt my cheeks burning, how embarrassing. Our first verbal expression of love heard from eaves dropping. Not exactly romantic.
"I love you too..." He said before leaning forward and pressing his soft, supple lips against mine. I felt my heart skip a beat, he probably made this all happen with as much over drive he'd sent my heart into.
"I brought ice cream, mint chocolate chip. And my laptop, I think maybe a nice binge fest of Buffy will fix you right up." He said, he didn't dwell. He didn't make it weird. It felt right. "My favorites." I said with a grin, scooting over to make room for him in the bed as he set his laptop up at the foot of the bed. He handed me the carton of ice cream and had a spoon for each of us. We watched my favorite episodes and he laughed when I mouthed the words. We snuggled, I fell asleep in his arms.
He always made it better.
