Truth Never Fails
Lina’s POV.
Liam slowly turned around and looked at us. “Oh my god….” I’m pretty sure my facial expression was the same as everybody else’s, shocked as hell.
We all walked downstairs silently and went back into the living room where we continued to “watch” TV. We all tried to focus on Teen Titans, which was on right now, but the fact that we just saw 2 people who were in such denial about each other kissing was prohibiting us from it.
“Okay can we discuss the fact that we just Louis Talia in a heated make out sesh?” We all looked at Azalea, who looked so fucking happy that I thought her mouth was going to rip of her face. We all basically agreed and started talking about what we all just saw.
“I mean they were ALL on each other!” I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I had to let it out. We all did. “Talia’s face was priceless though. She looked like she seen a ghost!” At this point, all of us were rolling on the floor laughing. I was laughing so hard that I had tears coming out my eyes.
“Where’s Niall?” Penelope trying to control her laughter, answered Harry’s question. “I think he’s upstairs still sleep.” I wiped my eyes and stood up from Zayn’s grip. “I’ll go get him, be right back.” I brushed my hair out my face and headed towards the stairs.
As I was walking up the stairs, I overheard talking. Sounded like it was coming from Niall’s room…
I headed for his door and the talking got louder. “If you hurt her, I’ll fucking find you and kill you.” I stopped dead in my tracks right in front of his door. Oh god this cannot be happening. As I was about to knock on the door, trying my best to hide the guilt look on my face, the door swung open.
“Hey Ni-“The look in his face said it all. I knew what his question was going to be and it was not about to be a jolly truth he was about to here. “Who the fuck is Jace.” I flinched at his tone but nevertheless, still felt guilty for not telling him. I looked back at the phone he had in his hand and his eyes. His fucking eyes.
They were a different type of blue. One that I never seen on him before. I sighed and looked down the hall, trying not to answer his question. “Lina…” God he sounded piss. I sighed, a little irritated and ran my hand through my hair. “You’re paying for my funeral” I grumbled and made my way inside his room.
He closed the door and made his way to his bed. I stood in front of his window, admiring the view. “How much do you know?” I turned to look at him but he shook his head, clueless. I sighed and walked over to him, sitting next to him.
“Look, I was hoping she would tell you but looks like she didn’t” I turned to him and put a strand of hair behind my ear. “Tori used to be in a gang.” I’ve never seen Niall’s eyes so big. By the looks of it, this was gonna be a long story but it’s time he found out.
“Tori had a very troubling childhood. Her mother was a drug attic prostitute and her father was an alcoholic. She always had to defend herself ever since she was a little girl. When she moved to LA, she joined this gang named Mad Swan Bloods. Jace was the head of the whole entire gang. That’s how I met her.” I looked up at him and his eyes were glued to his hands. “Y-you were in a gang?” I sighed and nodded.
“I took care of her and looked after her. She was so fragile and hurt looking. Jace assigned me to her. Everyone in that group had something against her, for no reason. I wasn’t one to take someone under my wing but Tori…I knew she had something more to offer. She was special. Of course Jace made her prove herself that she was capable of being in the group.”
Niall shook his head and looked down. I turned away from him and faced the wall in front of me. “Jace assigned me to look after her but I did more than that. I taught Tori everything she needed to know in order to stay alive in that cruel part of that city. He didn’t know I was teaching her things but I didn’t want her to get hurt in this. I tried to talk her out of it the first few days but being the stubborn Tori that she was, she didn’t listen.”
“As I got older, I didn’t want to be in the gang anymore. Me and Tori were at the top of our fame in the gang. Everyone wanted us to do something for them or came for advice. One of my closest friend died in one of our usual stick outs. That’s when I decided to leave. I talked to Jace and after a heated argument, I left.” He looked up at me and his eyes were a softer blue this time.
“A couple months after I left, Tori called me and told me she was leaving. I told her it wasn’t that easy and to let me handle it with Jace. She didn’t listen and did it herself. One rainy night, my doorbell hand rung. I went to go see who it was and outside was Tori, soaking wet and looked horrible. She told me she ran away. One of the most stupidest things you can do is run away from a gang you were accustomed to. The only reason I was let out so easy was because my oldest sister was known for torturing people who hurt me.”
I looked over to Niall who just looked so hurt. “Why didn’t she tell me?” His voice was so soft and broken like. “Niall, look. I know your hurt but she doesn’t like to talk much about her personal life. This is one thing that she knows will have people worry their ass off if she let it out. You know how she is when people gets so worried about her.” He nodded and sighed. “Tori made a mistake. Now Jace isn’t the one to let things go. He’s a grudge holder. If it’s one thing he’s good at, it’s keeping his promises. Now he is fulfilling that one promise he made to Tori, and that’s coming back for her.”
“I can’t let him hurt her Lina. I need to protect her.” My head shot up and I looked at him like he was crazy. “Niall you can’t. She doesn’t want you to get hurt. You need to stay out of this.” He shook his head and grabbed at his hair in frustrations. I was about to comfort him when the door opened up. We both looked up aaaaaaaaand just the girl I wasn’t hoping to see in this situation.
“Uhh what’s going on…?” I looked at her and she knew. Just by my facial expression, exactly what this was about.
“You might want to do some explaining for yourself Tori…”
