I walked out onto the deck wearing one of Harry's t-shirts over my bathing suit. Harry shook his head with a smirk when he noticed the sketch book and pencils in my hand. I set the sketch book and pencils on the table then made my way to a lounge chair. I wasn't ready to get into the pool yet; it was still a bit too cool for me. As I sat down, Harry jumped out of the pool. His stride was slow and almost strut like. I gazed up at him with a blank expression. He placed his hand on my face gently.
"Are you alright, baby?" Harry whispered. I nodded and kept my eyes on his. "Are you sure?" He probed. I just nodded again. My mind was going a million miles a minute from the events of the entire holiday we had spent together. With his boys being around, I was having a hard time processing things. But I didn't want to share that with him just yet and I didn't want to share in front of the boys either. He leaned forward and lightly pressed his lips to mine. I sighed faintly. I felt like I hadn't been kissed all morning. I rested my hands on Harry's wet hips and drew him a little closer. I locked our lips in a gentle unhurried fashion. I wanted to taste him. I wanted to breathe in all of him I could.Harry smiled against my lips.
"That was a bit different." Harry murmured as he backed out of the tender kiss. I grinned at him weakly. "Are you sure everything is okay, Noli?" The concern returning to his eyes as he caressed my cheek with his thumb affectionately.
I kissed him once again, "I'm fine, Harry."
"If you were, you'd call me baby." His concern was getting stronger the more I denied what was going on in my head. I sighed and gave up. Harry's brow furrowed with more worry, "Noli, what's going on? Did I do something wrong?"
I shook my head quickly, "Oh Jesus, no." Harry's worry turned to sadness. "Can we talk about it later, please?" I pleaded quietly, noticing that the boys had all of their attention on Harry and I. He placed his lips on mine soothingly. I smiled when I felt the water from his hair dripping onto my shoulders.
Harry backed away once more whispering, "I love you, Enola." He rested his forehead on mine as my eyes slid closed. We stayed intimately close for just another moment.
"Go play with your friends." I teased pushing Harry back a bit. He ran his hand through my hair gently before running back to the pool. He jumped in, almost landing on top of Niall. I giggled when he popped above the water, grinning like a little boy.
I sat at the edge of the pool drawing. My focus was Harry, of course. I concentrated on his eyes and his smile. The two things he used to show the kind of man he was. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear before dropping my eyes back to my sketch book. I made my pencil curve the way that Harry's eyes did. Brilliant green eyes.
My concentration was broken when I felt a body next to mine. I looked up to see Niall looming over me. I smiled politely at him then returned my attention to my drawing. Niall sat down beside me.
"Enola." His voice was gentle, like he was attempting not to scare me. I turned my gaze to his. I told myself to play nice because Harry loved the boys so much.
"Niall." I replied pleasantly.
"What are you drawing?" Niall inquired leaning over me a bit. I flipped the sketchbook so he could see the nearly completed drawing. He laughed a bit, "I should've guessed." I furrowed my brows at him then set the book in my lap. "Hey, are you okay?" Niall placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Why would you say it like that?" I asked genuinely curious about his response. I didn't like the way he responded to the drawing. I stared down at the drawing waiting for an answer.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's just that you are so taken with each other. It was kind of a silly question." Niall answered with tenderness. I nodded, keeping my eyes on the drawing. I felt Niall lean over me again. "It's amazing. It looks like a photograph." He stated.
"Thanks." I mumbled.
"Listen, I know that things are a little tense between us. I think you're really nice and all but Harry is..." Niall paused like he was searching for the right words.
"I know. It's alright." I replied before he could finish his sentence.
"Enola, I know that he loves you. And I can see that you are quite smitten with him but...do you feel for him the way he does for you?" Niall seemed almost uncomfortable to ask. Like he feared what I had to say.
"Are you asking me if I love him?" I smiled a bit as the question flew from my mouth. Niall nodded slowly, fear hiding in his eyes. "How many times are we going to have this conversation, Niall?" I inquired feeling a bit annoyed with the boy. I had been honest about how much I cared for Harry. When Niall shrugged, I could see that he was actually asking out of curiosity and not a need to be protective. "Harry is a very...special person." I began. Niall lifted his eyebrow. "He's loving and kind. He can be as cheeky as a little boy. He also has the ability to be the sexiest person you've ever met. I've never met another person with his passion for living. He is a wonder, that's for sure. To not care for him is virtually impossible. He's one of those people who you can speak to for just a moment and you are a better person because of it. It doesn't take much for him to infect your heart with this...pure elation." I explained calmly but with a smile. "I may not know exactly how I feel about the man but I do know that I am not the same person I was six days ago. Not by a long shot." Niall stared at me like he was trying to figure me out. "I'm sorry I can't give you a straight answer. I know that's what you want but people are more complicated than that. We've got more dimensions than this drawing. What you're asking me to sum up into three small words can't be done." I paused for a moment to let his brain catch up. "Love is a comprehensive idea. Like art. Just because you can look at a painting and see a pretty picture doesn't mean you understand it." I stated quietly. Niall nodded slowly as he smirked at me. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked quickly, as he was making me uncomfortable. He shook his head and looked straight out into the vineyard. I watched after him with curious eyes. What the heck was that?
"Baby, will you please get in the pool?" Harry begged as he hung off the edge of the pool. I shook my head and threw my sketchbook onto the lounge chair. I didn't want it to get wet from the drenched man at my feet. "Please, Noli?" Harry pleaded once again.
"No. I'm not ready yet." I responded bluntly. Harry groaned and got out of the pool. I looked up at him as he stood beside me, soaking my legs. "Harry, what are you doing?" I inquired, inching away from him.
"You're getting in the pool, love." He smiled and reached for me. I squeaked and stood as fast as I could. I hurried over to the table. I used the frosted glass table as a barricade. Harry had me cornered. "Come here, Noli." Harry purred with a devious smirk.
I shook my head and giggled, "No way!"
"Enola! In the pool!" Harry shouted playfully. I shook my head. When he tried to come closer to me, I stripped off his t-shirt, revealing my lavender bikini. He smirked and inched even closer. I threw the shirt at him, hitting him in the face. I bolted out from behind the table with a loud laugh as Harry tried to remove the garment from his head. He raced after me, chasing me around the pool. I squealed loudly when Harry caught me around my waist, lifting me into the air. "In the pool, baby." Harry laughed, holding me bridal style.
"Harry!" I shrieked before he dropped me into the pool. I could hear him laughing as I sank into the water. Once my feet hit the bottom of the pool, I pushed myself up to the surface. I glared at my smirking lover as he swam toward me. He took me in his arms, still chuckling. I wrapped my arms around his neck as though I was seeking comfort. But as he tried to kiss me, I shoved him under the water with a giggle. I quickly shifted myself, sitting on his shoulders. Harry nipped at my thigh causing me to gasp. He placed his hands on my thighs then flipped me over into the water as he came up for air. I recovered quickly then jumped on his back, wrapping my legs around his waist. Harry looked back at me and smiled. I bit my lip gently, loving the sight of his dimples and bright eyes. He kissed me passionately as he brought me around to face him. I clung to him like I did just a few days earlier when we were alone in the pool.
"You two are absolutely ridiculous. You know that, right?" Zayn teased from behind us. Harry pulled his lips from mine and blushed.
"I forgot they were even here." He murmured to me. I couldn't help but giggle at his confession. "I love you." Harry uttered tenderly. I pressed my lips to his once again, not caring that the boys were watching us.
