Harry felt his heart drop, did she really just say that?
“You’ve been what?!” He said through gritted teeth, trying not to raise his voice too much.
Penny nodded, her eyes were red and he could see the tears forming.
“I’m so sorry Harry, it was a huge mistake…” Her voice was shaky and he could tell she was truly remorseful, but that was no excuse.
He felt his lip quiver and turned his head to look out the window. His world falling down around him and nothing she could say would fix it.
“How long.” He demanded.
“Since the beginning of the tour…” A sob escaped after the words and her face was buried in her hands.
“I’m a fool.” He said and sat back, running his hands through his hair. “I can’t believe you did this to me Penny…”
The hurt in his voice was obvious. He felt betrayed, like his two best friends had worked together to shred his heart.
He stood up abruptly and walked to the door, yanking it open and walking into the hallway.
This was too much for him to handle, this was not what he expected to hear when Penny woke up.
And Niall, how could he do this to him? He brought him with him to see her!
He pulled his phone from his pocket and pressed call on Niall’s name.

“Hey, everything okay?” Niall asked upon answering.
“Where are you?” Harry’s voice was low and calm.
“Outside having a smoke.” Niall sounded oblivious. Of course he was.
Harry hung up and made his way outside, spotting Niall near the end of the walkway. He walked up to him. His fists clenched at his side.
Niall turned to smile at Harry only to be caught off guard by Harry’s clenched fist slamming into his jaw.
“Oi! What’d you do that for mate?!” Niall demanded.
“I’m not your mate. Mates don’t fuck your girlfriend!” A sheen of sweat on his cheeks as he spoke. The color drained from Niall’s cheeks as he listened to the words.
“Harry, I didn’t mean to…it just happened.” The redness on his jaw was apparent now as he spoke.
“Sure, no premeditation at all, yeah? Just accidentally fucked her. Of course! Why didn’t I realize it sooner?” Sarcasm dripping from his words.
“Fuck you Niall. Fuck both of you.” He said turning on his heel and walking toward the parking lot, not looking back.
