Strong (Book 2 in the No Control series)

“Liz?!”
As I’m kneeling in front of the toilet, I lift my head just in time to see my handsome husband standing there in nothing but his boxer briefs. He kneels down beside me. “You alright, Love?”
“I’m ok. Stupid morning sickness. Please go, I don’t want you to see me like this.”
Liam kisses my forehead. “I seem to remember some vows about supporting you, even when things are difficult. So I’m not going anywhere.”
I nod my head, then the wave of nausea overcomes me. Liam holds back my hair, gently rubbing my back.

“Thank you.”
“Anything for you, Beautiful.”
“I’ll be out in a minute.”

After brushing my teeth, I return to the bedroom, finding Liam sitting by the window, deep in thought. He looks up as I sit beside him.
“You feeling better, Babe?”
I smile. “Yes, thank you for your help.”
He sweetly kisses my forehead.
Taking his hand, I ask him. “Are you alright? You look worried.”
He sighs. “I’ve just been thinking, what if I’m not a good dad?”
I smile, squeezing his hand. “Liam, you will be an amazing dad. In fact, you already are. Everytime you take care of me, you are taking care of him or her also.”
He rubs his thumb slowly across the back of my hand. “What if I’m too young, what if I’m too busy, what if…”
I interrupt him. “Together, you and I can do anything. We will help each other to be the best parents to this little one that we can be.”
I watch his sweet, shy smile come across his face. Laying my hand alongside his cheek, I let him know. “If this baby turns out to be even as half as kind, loving, funny, and thoughtful as you are...Then I will know we have raised them well. I love you, Handsome.”
“You always know just the right thing to say.” Liam pulls me into his arms. “I love you more, Beautiful.”
