A Friend, A Lover, A Stranger

He walked in.. the mail in one hand, a package in another. "Babe, the package is for you." He said, handing it to me while shuffling through the mail. I took the package from his grasp and walked over to the kitchen counter to cut it open, inside was a letter and another small box. I reached in and pulled out the letter, it was from him.

Dearest Alix,

Here's to n ew beginnings and old memories. You are a beautiful person, inside and out. And I'm sure he agrees with me... but I can promise you I love you more that he does... I can guarantee. I have loved you longer, I have loved you more. But it is because I live you more it is that I know you love him more. And therefore, I will have to let you be with him, because your happiness means the world to me. And he makes you happiest.
