{Later That Day}

“She wants to.. you know.’’ Niall says, sitting down on the couch.
‘’What?’’ Jana asks, rather confused.
‘’Melanie.. she wants what we talked about.’’ Niall reminds her.
‘’Oh.. that. Ni, that’s a big decision.. to make.’’ Jana sighs, looking over at him, her eyebrows knitted as she stares at him, trying to make out his thoughts.
‘’You’re only doing this because you know it will hurt Cody, that’s all.’’ Jana shakes her head lightly in shame at him.
‘’No it’s not, I don’t even care about him. I care about Melanie, every damn day she goes home and suffers because that bastard doesn’t even attempt to care about her.’’ Niall retorts, assure of his true reasonings.
‘’Whatever, but remember the consequences. Every action has consequences.’’
“Jana, baby, I know what I’m doing.’’
‘’You’re only doing it for your benefit, Niall. It’s pretty obvious.’’

‘’Thank you again, Dad, sorry for such short notice.’’ Tori sighs as she pushes a strand of hair behind her ear, glancing up to meet Niall’s eyes.
“No problem baby, we can keep them anytime you need us to.’’ Niall smiles, looking down at the sleeping baby in his arms.
‘’I’m really sorry, though, to cancel any plans for you.’’ Tori adds in.
‘’Babe, I don’t have plans tonight, stop stressing over it. Besides, you’ll do fine, you look beautiful. Just relax.’’ Niall assures her with a light smile.
‘’Thank you, and I hope so. I just.. I don’t know.’’
‘’Don’t stress it baby, good luck.’’ Niall says, leaning into kiss her cheek.
‘’Thanks Daddy.’’ She whispers softly.
‘’Daddy? I haven’t heard that word leave your mouth in a long time.’’ Niall grins.
‘’I’m just nervous.. afraid.’’
‘’You’ll do fine Tori, I love you babe. Call me so I know you got home safe.’’ Niall nods lightly.
‘’Okay, love you too.’’
‘’Now get goin’ before you end up being late.’’ Niall says, gesturing for her to leave already.
She laughs a little and smiles back at him, turning on her heel and heading towards the driveway.
‘’Niall? Was that Tori?’’ Niall heard Jana say as he shut the front door, locking it just out of habit.
He turns to see her coming down the stairs in her bathrobe, the strap tied tight.
‘’Yeah. She dropped the kids off.’’ Niall says as Jana reaches him, carefully taking Kaylee from his arms.
Jana starts to lightly rock her arms just to make sure she stays asleep.
‘’I’ll go put her the nursery.’’ Jana whispers lightly.
‘’Where’s Lexi?’’ Niall asks, not too sure of where she ran off to a few minutes ago.
“I don’t know, probably where ever Talya and Tiffany are.’’ Jana says.
Out of no where came a loud bark, both of them knowing who it is automatically.
‘’Damn it, Niall.’’ Jana sighs, glancing over her shoulder to see Toby standing in the foyer now.
‘’I’ll get that bastard outside, just go lay her down babe. I’ll go check on the kids in a minute.’’ Niall insists, smiling lightly as he remembers he forgot to shut the back doors earlier.
