The night was quiet, still, cold. Not a sound in the entire house, even Kaylee was sleeping peacefully in her crib. Melanie’s eyes stare at the screen of her phone, she just got it earlier this year for being trustworthy and all of that stuff.
Her finger hovers over the send button, debating if he would even see it at 2:07 in he morning. But yet, she knew he would, she just somewhat doubted he would care, even though she knew he would. Honestly, she didn’t know what to do, or to think even.
But it was too late to back out now, she hit the send button, and then it was official. She sent it, for good, nothing will change it at all, nothing in this world.

To Niall:
I need to tell you something Ni, it’s important.

It wasn’t but moments later that she got a reply, shocking her as her phone vibrated on her stomach. She picks it up and reads over it, sighing in relief that someone in this world cared about it.

From Niall:
What is it baby? Everything okay?

To Niall:
Not really.. It’s about Tori and Cody. :(

From Niall:
What is it? What’s going on love?

Melanie sighs before deciding her reply, she knew if Cody found out she would be grounded, punished, in huge, super-duper, major trouble for a long time.

To Niall:
I’m not supposed to tell you, or anyone. I don’t want to risk Tori and Cody’s relationship. I just wanted to let you know. Please don’t tell them I told you!

From Niall:
I won’t baby, just tell me. Please.

To Niall:
Okay. Well.. for a few weeks, not too long, when Cody gets mad.. he’ll push Tori. Or hit her.. slap her.. she fights back sometimes. But I don’t.

She patiently waits for the quick reply Niall sends. But she closes her eyes, expecting him to blow up and get mad because she hasn’t told anyone about this, but it was the complete opposite as she read it.

From Niall:
What do you mean.. you don’t? Does he do it to you to?

To Niall:
Yeah.. but not all the time, just a few times. I’m okay though. I just needed to tell someone. I wanted to tell you.

From Niall:
Okay baby, you need to get some rest. You have school tomorrow.

To Niall:
I know.

From Niall:
I love you, okay? So much.

To Niall:
I love you too.

From Niall:
If you want I’ll bring you some lunch tomorrow, yeah?

To Niall:
Okay, thanks Ni :)

From Niall:
Anything for you babe, anything. I love you, now go to sleep. Goodnight.xo ♥

It was that morning, around eight or so, that Tori got a call. And of course, she knew exactly who the cause of it was. But yet, she decided to keep it secret, and not tell a soul, hardly not even wanting to tell herself.
“Toe-toe!’’ Jagger yelled happily as he ran down the stairs and into the living room, that was his nickname for her, only because he used to not be able to say her name well, now it’s just a habit.
‘’Hey darling, did you sleep good last night?’’ Tori smiles as he sits down on the couch beside her, running her hand through his messy hair.
‘’Yep, no bad dreams.’’ He nods with a smile.
‘’Good, you need to go back upstairs, it’s too early for you to be up babe.’’ Tori says with a smile.
‘’But please, Daddy isn’t going to put me in time out! Please Toe-toe, please?’’ Little Jagger begs with those blue eyes staring up at Tori with desperation and need.
‘’Okay, babe.. okay.’’ Tori gives in, unable to resist Jagger’s little pout he pulls when he really wants something.
‘’Tori.. I need a Band-Aid.’’ Melanie says as comes in from the kitchen, her hand over her wrist as she nervously sits down on the couch.
‘’Melanie.. I told you-‘’
‘’Where did you put the Band-Aids?’’ Melanie asks, not wanting to discuss the situation at all, especially not today. Not on this day.
‘’There’s some in the bathroom, and there’s one in my purse if you can find it.’’ Tori tells her, sighing lightly.
‘’Okay.’’ Mel only nods, nothing more, nothing less, before leaving to go cover up her fresh scars. She needed to get to school, she had semester finals today, and couldn’t miss.
And she couldn’t risk anyone, no one at all, seeing her arms.
God only knows what would happen then, especially to Tori’s reputation around the world, and Niall’s too.

‘’Everything that you’ve ever dreamed off.. disappearing when you wake up.. but there’s nothing to be afraid of.’’ Tori sings softly to Kaylee as she rocks her in her arms, sitting in the rocking chair in the baby’s nursery.
‘’Tori?’’ She heard her name being called out a few times.
But before she could reply at all, or in any way, Cody came into the room and smiled when he saw them.
‘’Beautiful.’’ He winks lightly as he walks over to them, leaning down to place a kiss on Kaylee’s forehead, and then on Tori’s lips.
‘’Did Melanie get to school?’’ Tori asks, looking down at the sleeping baby in her arms.
‘’Yeah… Cara texted me and said she hesitated to get out, but she did. She watched her walk in, so we won’t be having a repeat of what happening last month.’’ Cody says with a sigh as he leans against the crib.
He was referring to Melanie’s disappearance, just a few weeks ago. Tori dropped her off at school one morning, watched her go in. She got a call from the school telling her that Melanie wasn’t at school, the school done that for everyone though, just to make sure the parent’s knew.
But of course, they didn’t.
What they didn’t take in as a factor was that the night before, Cody and Tori got into yet again. Cody left a hole in the living room wall, now covered by a picture frame so Niall would never see it, and Tori even made a few bruises on him.
In her house, they live on a basis of only the strongest survive.
