The Making Of Us

We’ve been in London for about two weeks now and things couldn’t be any better. Johannah is doing well and I am doing great too. I have a doctor’s appointment today to get an ultrasound to check on the baby.

“How have you been feeling?” Dr. Glass asks

“I’ve been fine, still get sick now and again” I say

“That’s normal, some people experience morning sickness throughout their whole pregnancy” she says

“How about we take a listen?” Dr. Glass asks

“Ok” I say lying back and lifting my shirt.

I’m starting to get a tiny baby bump not too big yet but my clothes are starting to not fit very well. Doctor Glass grabs the Doppler and puts the warm gel on my stomach to find the baby’s heartbeat. That’s when I hear the thum..thum of my baby’s heartbeat. I realize its not as strong as last time and the doctor notices that too. She doesn’t seen too worried about it though. After my initial check-up I make my way over to ultrasound and take a seat; waiting for my name to be called. Niall finally arrives just five minutes before they call me back .

“Cassandra” the tech calls

“Right here” I respond

“Follow me right this way please” she says

Niall and I follow her back to the ultrasound room, I take a seat on the bed while Niall pulls up a chair beside me. The nurse enters my information into the machine. Then once again the warm gel is being placed on my stomach and then we see our baby on the big screen. The doctor is taking all different kinds of measurements then asks us if we’d like to know the sex of the babies.

“But I’m only 19 weeks, I was told I couldn’t find out until week 21-22” I say

“Wait a minute… did you just say babies? Like in Plural… more than one?” Niall blurts out

“Yes sir, I am finding another fetus sitting behind the one on the screen.” She moves the Doppler around and there it is, the other baby.

“Sometimes twins go unnoticed until you have a second ultrasound. And you’re far enough along to see the sex of then too. I have a pretty good view of both of them actually” She says

“Well what are they?” I ask impatiently

“Mr. Horan, Ms. McGavin. I am pleased to tell you that you are expecting a boy and girl…congratulations”

Niall and I look at each other with tears in our eyes. He leans down and kisses my forehead gently. I’m still in shock over the whole finding out it’s twins. But I guess I have no choice; Niall and I will just have to work twice as hard to give these guys the best lives we can. After the appointment I call my dad and Niall calls his mom and dad in Ireland to tell them the unexpected new.

“Cassie, Hey baby how are you? How was your visit today?” dad asks

“Well Niall and I have a bit of a surprise, we went in for the ultrasound and the lady asked Ni if we wanted to know the sex of the babies.” I tell him

“BABIES!?” my dad shouts into the phone

“Yes daddy, we are having twins, a boy and girl. I’m 19 weeks and they were able to tell us today.” I say

“Cassie that’s wonderful, twins… you guys are going to have your hands full. How big are they did they say?” dad asks

“The tech said they were as big as the palm of our hand and not even a pound yet. I guess baby A which is the girl she’s in front; they said her heart rate was a little low. So I am on bedrest for a couple weeks then go back for another check-up.” I tell him

Later that night after we inform everyone of the surprising news, we all gather outside to eat dinner and then pile into the theatre downstairs to watch a movie before we all head to bed.

“Congrats love you and Nialler are going to be great parents” Liam and Zayn hug me as they make their way up stairs.

Niall has already gone up to shower and get ready for bed. I stayed behind to finish watching the movie and catch up with the boys and Taylor.

“Congratulations love” harry says embracing me long and hard.

“I really mean it though, even though I still have feelings for you and feel horrible for taking advantage of you I really do wish you and Niall the best of luck. You’re going to need it, with twins and all and if you ever need a nanny Uncle Harry will be on call 24/7.” He says to me

“Thank you Harry your support means so much to Niall and I and about the how feelings thing keep that to yourself and do not let Niall find out about it. I’m not trying to sound rude but it will cause a shit storm of trouble.” I say

“No problem love I’ll admire your beauty from afar” he says giggling a little

“Whatever you say Harry.” I tell him before making my way upstairs with Harry trailing behind me.

I get to the kitchen and see Taylor making a bottle for Johannah and Louis has the baby on the kitchen table with a blanket under her; changing what I suppose is a poppy diaper. He’s got his shirt pulled up over his nose.

“How does so much shit come out of one tiny human?” he asks to no one in particular

I walk over to him and see what he means. This girl has poop all the way up to her neck and down to her feet. It looks like a shit grenade went off and the smell is something horrid. I help Louis by holding the baby up while he strips off her onesie and sleeper. He tossed the dirty clothes to the floor and take the wipes and wipes her down then take her so I can run some warm water in the sink.

I help Louis give the baby a bath before going upstairs to get ready for bed. I hug Taylor and Louis and give kisses and hugs to Miss Johannah then go upstairs. I hear the shower running still so I decide to go in to join Niall in the shower. I open the shower door and stare at my man for a short moment before he sees me standing there naked.

“Cassandra Jean words cannot explain how beautiful you look right now. You have thee perfect little baby bump that makes you all the more sexy.” He says to me

I step into the shower and push Niall out of the way of the hot water. I stand there letting the hot water cascade down my back, it feels amazing. My back has been aching quite a bit lately but the doctor said it will only get worse as I expand. I grab the bath poof and start to massage soap onto Niall’s back and gently wash his hair as he does the same to me. We get out and dry off, putting on our pajamas. Niall wearing just his boxers and I wearing my panties and one of his long t-shirts and nothing else. We lie in bed just talking for a half hour before I start to nod off.

“Cassie I love you with all my heart and soul, nothing is ever going to change that. I can’t wait for these beautiful babies to get here so we can hold them and take care of them forever.” Niall says to me

“Ni, baby I love you too. You and I..Always” I say as I fall asleep
