The Making Of Us

Niall POV:

We’ve been waiting for hours now, Cassie’s dad called and said their plane was delayed and they couldn’t get here until tomorrow morning. So I called Cassie’s grandparents and they have been up here with us waiting to hear about Cassie’s condition. Another half hour has passed before the doctor comes out.

“Party for McGavin please”

Cassie’s grandparents get up to go with the doctor and ask me if I would like to come too, so I get up and follow behind them to a small room. Once in there the doctor shuts the door and motions for us to take a seat

“Ok so we got Cassie stabilized. She took a pretty significant amount of both the Tylenol and her own medication. I am obligated to tell you that we did have to resuscitate her once we got her back to the operating room. But after successfully pumping her stomach and getting enough charcoal in her system to soak up the remainder of the drugs, she is stabilized. The nurses are going to move her into a room upstairs soon then everyone else can come and see her. She’s going to be out of it for a few days due to the meds we are giving her but she’ll be ok”

I’m sitting there numb with silent tears running down my face, as do Mr. and Mrs. McGavin. I don’t know how I feel. I’m glad that Cassie is hopefully going to be ok, but I feel numb at the same time. I almost lost her, the best thing that has happened in my life so far and I almost lost her. The doctor shows us back out to the waiting area.

“I’m going to call Taylor and let her know what is going on.” I say to Cassie’s grandparents.

The boys follow me outside and I tell them everything the doctor told me, then I call Taylor.

“Hey Taylor sorry it’s late but we are at the hospital with Cassie, can you just come up here and I’ll explain what happened, better yet Harry will help me tell you what happened.” I say glaring at Harry

It took Taylor about 10 minutes before she got here, we waited for her outside.

“Niall are you ok? Is Cassie ok? What is going on?” Taylor says crying

“Cassie is going to be ok but I’ll let Harry tell you what he did and then I’ll tell you the rest” I say motioning for him to speak

“Erm… you see the night we all went out for Cass’s birthday” He started

“Yes Harry I was there what the hell did you do to my best friend?” she asks frustrated

“Uhm, well when she got up to use the restroom and I excused myself also, it was because I went to wait for her to come out of the bathroom and kiss her. She asked me if I was crazy and I kissed her again and one thing lead to another and we ended up having sex in the bathroom at the restaurant.” Harry says hanging his head

“Don’t leave out the part where you walked into the bathroom and she wasn’t wearing anything but a towel.” I tell him smugly

“How could you do that to her Harry? What the fuck were you thinking?” Taylor yells at Harry

“That’s not all, after we got back to her house after going to Liar’s Club she went upstairs and was getting sick so I was helping her. I told her I was going to stay in her room with her so she wasn’t alone and we ended up having more sex throughout the night, but she was so shit faced she didn’t remember it, at least that’s what she told Liam.” Harry explained

“You son of a bitch! It’s not enough that she’s depressed from her mom dying, and dealing with Niall having to be away but now you have to come and fuck her and screw up her and Niall’s relationship? Good job Styles, way to go….and the award for World Biggest Fuckface goes to Harry Styles.” Taylor is yelling at him

All the boys including me are kind of huddled away from Harry right now, if fists start flying we don’t wanna be hit but hey Harry deserves whatever comes to him. He did this to himself.

“Niall please tell me why Cassie is here please” she says to me

Cassie’s grandpa comes out at this time to let me know Cassie has been moved up to a room and wants to know if I would like to go up and see her. So I let Louis explain what happened

Taylor’s POV:

“Ok love so Niall was getting up to punch Harry I’m sure when we all heard a huge thud come from Cassie’s room, we all ran up there to see what happened. It looked as if she had just passed out but when Zayn and Liam went into the bathroom to get a towel for her bleeding head they seen pills everywhere. So we put two and two together and had Harry call 911. She wasn’t breathing and had no pulse, so Zayn was doing chest compressions and I was doing mouth to mouth while Liam was on the phone and Niall was trying to stop her head from bleeding. Paramedics got here and took her away and we’ve been here ever since.” Louis explained

“So because of all this shit she gets from assholes at school and online and her mom dying and now this ass hat. My best friend decided to take a shit load of pills because she thought her being dead would solve everything?” I ask tears rolling down my face.

“We don’t know why she did it. We just know that she had her stomach pumped and she had to be resuscitated upon arrival. So she almost didn’t make it but she’s ok now the doctor assured us.” Liam says to me.

I feel faint I just fall to my knees sobbing uncontrollably as Harry bends over to help me
“NO! DON’T YOU FUCKING TOUCH ME THIS IS PARTIALLY YOUR FAULT! FUCK YOU HARRY!” I shout between sobs

Zayn and Liam help get me off the ground and pull me into a hug, Louis grabs my hand and leads us into the hospital.

“Hi Cassandra McGavin was moved upstairs we were just wondering what room” Louis asks the lady behind the desk

“She is in room E402. Take this hallway to the elevators and go to floor 4, take an immediate left and follow the hallway labeled East Tower her room is the second on the left side.” The nice lady says to us.

“I think I’m just going to wait outside you guys” Harry pipes up

“No mate you’re coming with us. As much as I hate to say this you are partially responsible for Cassie doing this. Harry I love ya bro but you need to tell her your sorry and that you will not make any more moves on her. She needs to know that you are going to leave her alone.” Liam says to Harry.

We arrive at Cassie’s door, from the hallway we can hear the beeping of the machines. This is insane being up here on the intensive care floor again. This time because my best friend tried to commit suicide. I don’t know what I would do without her but I’m going to make sure that nobody at school knows about this. They will never let her live it down. The nurse says only three people allowed back at one time, not a surprise that’s how it always is. We take a seat in the corner of the waiting room. Niall comes out and informs us that Cass is sleeping and is very exhausted from going through all that crap tonight.

Tomorrow we will come back and get to see her. Mr. and Mrs. McGavin are going to stay the night here until Cassie’s dad and step mom can make it up tomorrow as well. I’ve been instructed to go home and get sleep and to call Nate and explain to him about what’s happened with this sister. He is away on a college visit so I’m sure he will be here sometime tomorrow as well.

Niall’s POV:
The boys and I are back at Cass’s house. Everyone is sleeping in the living room tonight except myself I’m going to crash in Cassie’s room. Before I get ready to sleep though I clean up the blood from the floor and night table and dispose of the saturated rags in the trash. As I go to lie down in her bed I fall to my knees and pray for the first time since I was a child.

“Dear god, please let Cassie be alright. You know she means the world to me and if I lose her I would be lost. I wouldn’t know what to do without her in my life so please god just do me this one favor and leave her here for me. I promise I will protect her for eternity I won’t let anything happen to her anymore.”

“Mate she’s going to be ok.” I hear Harry say from the doorway

“What do you want?” I ask

“I just want to apologize for this mess I’ve helped cause. I’m sorry for sleeping with Cassie, I was a shitty mate and being selfish and destructive. I can’t take back what has happened but I am truly sorry mate. I understand if you can’t accept my apology right now and don’t want to speak to me but I will keep apologizing to you until you do.” Harry says to me

“You should be apologizing to Cassie, not me. It’s her that you caused trouble to. I will eventually forgive her and you but for now you should be apologizing to Cassie and her family” I say to him before shutting off the light and climbing into bed.
