Main characters point of view:
I’m sitting here holding his hand, hoping and praying that everything will be ok. I hear a knock on the door, and people are coming in. I turn around to see Greg, Denise and little Theo. I get up from my chair and pick him up and hug him tightly and place a kiss on his cheek. He and Niall are so close this must be killing him to see his uncle like this. I let Greg and Denise have some alone time with Niall and I offer to take Theo for a little walk. Theo is a few steps ahead of me I see Harry walking I stop to wait for him so we can walk together. I see Theo as he is getting a bit too far ahead “Not too far sweetie”.
“You know this may seem whatever, but I kind of wish I had the accident instead of Niall” Harry indicates to me as we are walking.
“Your really good with him, taking care of him I mean.” I can’t believe Harry has said this. Who on earth would want to be in Niall’s situation right now? With that I walk away not wanting to talk to Harry at this moment.
Theo and I are sitting in the cafeteria and I bought him some Mc Donald’s I watch him eat or should I say devour his nuggets, my god this kid is like his uncle when he eats. I move my chair closer to him and rub his back as he continues to eat. “Is Uncle Ni going to be ok?” he asks me so sweet and innocently. “I hope so buddy.”
“I knew something was wrong Uncle Ni never misses our play dates”. Theo says as he is now crying. Niall has to survive this if not for me, the lads then for this little guy right here. I put my head down and give little Theo a kiss. After another ten minutes Theo has been telling me all the things that he and Niall do together. They really love each other it’s always them against the world. We slowly make our way back to Niall’s room, Greg is on the chair with red puffy eyes and Denise has her hands placed on his shoulders.
“Hey love can you please watch Theo tomorrow, we will bring Maura and Bobby here to sit with him, let yourself have a break.” Denise asks me.
“Yea of course.” I smile and look down at Theo.
The nurses have allowed me to stay the night with Niall, which I am glad about. I haven’t left his side since Greg, Denise and Theo left a few hours ago; I have messaged Maura saying nothing has changed. I am reading a magazine on the couch where I am planning to sleep tonight, and my phone goes off I see I have a message from Harry.
From Harry S:
I’m sorry I didn’t mean for anything I said before X H
I head into the bathroom and decide to call him.
“Hey I’m really sorry.” Harry answers the phone.
“It’s fine Harry, it’s not about us right now it’s about Niall and hopefully he can come out of this with everyone’s support.”
“Of course it is, hey umm I know I was never there for you but if this had happened to me would you have had come?” Harry asks me
I pause for about thirty seconds and thinks about it.
“Of course Harry I would of come.” I say in tears I can’t bear it anymore so I just hang up the phone.
I am so tired, sad, angry this should not be happening to Niall. I walk over to his bed and grab his hand, all the tubes and wired and machines are covering him but he still looks as beautiful as ever I want him to wake up so I cant tell him.
