Chapter 22

Chapter 22 (Tracey’s P.O.V.)

I was so glad that Sabrina was on vacation. Life had been so odd without her or Hannah around. Now we just had to wait for Hannah to get off and then we could all have some time together before they had to go back.

Like now, Sabrina and I were heading back from a day out on the town. We just spend the entire day walking around LA and catching up. It felt so good. One thing that we talked about was how Eleanor and Perrie were in town. Sabrina told me about how rude Perrie was to her. I hoped that Eleanor wouldn’t be that way with me or get mad at Louis. I would hate it if he got on her bad side because of me.

“So what are you up for next?” Sabrina asked. We were walking down the street, our arms looped together.

“I’m feel a movie at home.” My legs and feet were killing me, and I had work tomorrow. I had learned my lesson before about over walking the day before I had to work. It was a really bad idea when you were a waitress at a famous spot.

“Okay, so what movie?”

I thought for a moment, “Something of Hannah’s.”

Sabrina and I had movies, but nowhere need how many Hannah had. And we had seen all of ours a million times. I really didn’t want to watch them again.

“Then let’s head over there and grab a few.” She smiled. I smiled back as we continued down the street. We weren’t that far from Hannah’s place.

“Where are we going to hang? Mine place or yours?”

I thought for a moment, remembering how bad my place needed to be cleaned. “How about yours?”

“Okay,” she chirped. I could tell just how happy Bri was to be back home. I knew she missed the opportunity to just cut free and go for a walk, even if it was in the crowded streets of LA.

“Let’s go!” she pointed to the building like an idiot before she ran inside.

I ran in after her, “Wait up!”

She didn’t slow down until she reached the door to Hannah’s apartment. She wouldn’t have stopped if didn’t have to wait for me, because I had the key. I grinned as I pulled my keys out. I just loved how I had the spare key to Hannah’s apartment. I opened the door and walked in. I stopped when I noticed that the living room was messy. There was a pizza box open on the couch and soda cans everywhere. This was so not like Hannah to leave her house in a mess. Not to mention, it hadn’t looked like this when she left.

I walked over to the couch and looked at the pizza. It wasn’t that old, from today or yesterday. I decided that I needed to investigate. I left the living room and entered the kitchen. It seemed to be in the same state as when she had left. What was going on here?

“What is it?”

I turned to see Sabrina in the doorway to the kitchen.

“Something’s up.” I said as I walked back into the living room and headed for the bedroom. I put my ear up to the door. I couldn’t hear anything from inside. I decided to just go in. I pushed the door open and looked around. There was a person in the bed, buried under the covers.

“Hannah?” I asked. The person didn’t move. I was a little worried. My friend was acting really out of character.

“Hannah?” I asked again as I walked into the room. The person showed no sign of movement as I walked around the bed. I leaned down and looked at her. It was Hannah. I stood frozen, until she blinked. Okay, she was alive.

“Hannah?” I asked again, being answered by silence. I squatted down, making our faces level. I could see the tear tracks on her face.

“Hannah, what’s the matter?” I asked. I had never seen Hannah in this state. She had gotten upset, but never had she ever been like this.

“What’s wrong with her?” I looked over to see Sabrina still in the doorway. I think she was afraid to come in. I couldn’t blame her. I wouldn’t want to see Hannah like this either.

I nodded my head to her before turning back to Hannah. She was staring off at nothing before, but now she had turned to look at me.

“Tracey…” her voice slightly hoarse, “I don’t know what to do.”

I crinkled my eyebrows, “To do about what?”

“I’m so confused.” Her voice broke as she buried her face in her pillow.

I moved up to sit on the side of her bed, resting a hand on her shoulder, “What are you confused about?”

She shook her head, not taking her face from the pillow. I could tell that she just wanted to forget whatever was bothering her, but I knew that wouldn’t help her at all.

“Tell me.” I said, leaning closer to her.

She didn’t move. She was debating whether to say it or not.

“Hannah…” I begged. She turned to face from the pillow. She looked up at me, fresh tears on her cheeks. I could see the little wet stains in her pillow case.

“Hannah,” I spoke softly, “Why are you crying?”

She tried to stop the tears from sliding from her eyes. “I’m just so confused.”

I pulled her up and hugged her, “What are you confused about?” I shushed her as I rubbed her back. She hugged me back. I watched as Sabrina came over and sat down on the other side of Hannah, resting a hand on her back.

“I didn’t want to believe it.”

I looked down at Hannah, “You didn’t want to believe what?”

“That I like him!” she exclaimed as she began to cry into my shoulder.

Sabrina and I made eye contact. She was having trouble admitting to herself that she liked him. She couldn’t admit to herself that she liked Liam.
