This Is Us

Jana’s POV
‘’We are gathered here.. tonight.. to witness the renewal marriage of Niall James Horan and Jana Bennett Horan. As you have come to celebrate ten years with them, they appreciate your arrival.’’ The preacher, Pastor Mark, says.

‘’On this day, ten years ago, a man and woman bonded their lives together and formed a love story that will continue to shock the generations to come. We all probably figured that Niall could not over succeed from the first, but you were wrong.’’ He smiles at the crowd as Niall and I face each other, he keeps winking and making me blush.

‘’Niall and a few fellow friends of his kept this secret for an entire month. Despite Jana’s constant thinking that he was cheating or lying about something, he kept it up. Niall is the true meaning of love, because he would do anything to make his woman happy. God said that the man should provide for the family, and Niall does more than just provide.’’ He pauses again.


‘’Without further a due, even though the night hours are creeping in, we are going to witness the vow renewal of Niall and Jana Horan,’’ Mark sighs with a smile before looking back down at his podium to continue reading the written up stuff, I assume.

‘’Due to the situation, they had not prepared any written vows, but have decided to speak from the true heart.’’ Mark smiles as he nods towards Niall, who looked over at him for a short few seconds.

‘’And at this moment in time, Niall would like to reassure Jana of his promises,’’ Mark adds before Niall takes a deep breath. Niall turns his full attention to me as I stare into his eyes, he stares back into mine, the sparkle still there from thirteen years ago.

‘’Jana, I’ve been in love with you for a very long time. And it’s been the best thirteen years of my life. Ten years ago, I swore to you that I’d love you forever. And that I’d never give up on us. And I still swear that to this day and further on forever. Since we first done this, we’ve extended our family very much. But our children make me happy, and so do you. I would never change anything. I’m so blessed to have you in my life, and to have our kids, and our friends who are truly family. I promise that in ten years, this will not change. In twenty, thirty, sixty years.. this won’t change. On the day I die, it still won’t change baby. I love you with all my heart, and my soul. You are my life, my light, my world, and my universe. And I love you, so much. God only knows.. truly how much. I know we fight, we argue, we yell, we hit.. but in the end.. we both know.. that we’ll be in the same bed at night.. and we’ll always have that love. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. You fixed my broken heart, and I fixed yours. A lot of people have come and gone out of our lives.. but they had no effect on us because we know.. we know what love is. I love you Jana, I always have, I always will. You’re my other half, you’re my best friend, and you’ll always been my girl.’’

As I saw the tears rolling down his cheeks as he held my hands tight, I realized that I was crying too. And I wasn’t the only one I’m sure. ‘’That was beautiful.’’ I whisper very softly to him. He just smiles and nods lightly, winking at me.

‘’Now, Jana will show her love also.’’ Mark says and nods towards me as I glance at him, nodding back to tell him I’m ready. I squeeze Niall’s hand tight, gulping before exhaling a long, deep breath. I was nervous, but I knew I wouldn’t have to think too hard. I know what to say, I just need to be calm about it.

‘’Niall.. this is all so amazing, and I, I never expected you to go this far. But I love it, almost as much as I love you. Sometimes I feel so horrible.. and I see things people say about you, me, or our kids.. and I just.. I feel useless.. and I want to take myself away.. but then I look into your beautiful eyes.. and I see the very first day I looked at you, and I realize that I have everything I ever wanted. I could never thank God enough for you. You’re the best thing that happened to me. You helped me up when I was at the lowest fall of my life. You.. you stepped in and became the father to my daughter and gave us love even when no one else would. And I love you so very much for that. Every waking moment I think of you, and me. and I just smile because it’s so beautiful. We’re so beautiful, our love is. I look at you and wonder why on earth you would want to be with a girl like me.. but then I think God that you are because I’ve never been so happy in my life. You complete me, and I love you. I love you so much. You are the best father in the entire world, you are the best husband in the entire world, and you are the best best friend in the entire world. God knows I love you, and he knows what I’d be without you. I’ll never leave you, I’ll be with you forever.. I love you.’’ I smile gently at him.

He mouths ‘I love you too’ to me, and I just smile, holding in my happy and joy filled tears. ‘’If any one has anything against his renewal, please speak now or forever hold your peace.’’ Mark says as the ‘awes’ come to a stop.

It was dead silent, thank God. ‘’Niall, repeat after me. Jana, I take you once again to me my wife.’’ Mark says first. ‘’Jana.. I take you.. once again.. to be.. my wife.’’ Niall slowly says, but it was sweetly said and that’s all that mattered to me. He meant it, and that was everything.

‘’I will cherish you until death due us part, and even after that in to eternity.’’ Mark states. ‘’I will cherish you.. until death.. due us part, and.. even after that.. in.. to eternity.’’ Niall smiles lightly at me as he rolls in his lips for a moment, a way to show he was nervous.

‘’I will love you, take care of you, provide for you, protect you, and be with you no matter what.’’ Mark says. ‘’I will love… you, take care.. of you.. provide for you.. protect you, and be with you.. no matter what.’’ Niall says to me, staring into my eyes with love filled tears dripping from both of our eyes.

‘’I will be loyal. I will be here for you. In sickness, or in health, in riches or in poverty.’’ ‘’I will be.. loyal. I will.. be here for.. you.. in sickness, or in health.. in riches.. or.. in poverty.’’ Niall bites his lip lightly once he’s finished and waiting on the next thing to repeat.

‘’And I love you, forever, always, infinity, eternity.’’ Mark finishes. ‘’And I, Jana, I will love you forever.. and for always.. to infinity.. for eternity.’’ Niall smiles at me as he adds in his own words, creating his version, which was way better than the first.

‘’Now, Jana, repeat after me,’’ Mark starts as I continue to stare into Niall’s eyes, ‘’Niall, I take you once again to be my husband.’’ ‘’Niall.. I take you once again to be.. my husband.’’ I smile gently as he focuses on me and only me, his eyes steady on mine.

‘’I will cherish you until death due us part, and even after that in to eternity,’’ Mark states. ‘’I will cherish you until death due us part, and.. even after.. that into eternity.’’ I say.

‘’I will love you, take care of you, provide for you, protect you, and be with you no matter what.’’ Mark continues on. ‘’I will love you, take care of you, provide.. for you. Protect you.. and be with.. you no matter.. what.’’ I sniff lightly, the tears having an effect on me.

‘’I will be loyal. I will be here for you. In sickness, or in health, in riches or in poverty.’’ ‘’I will be loyal.. I will be here for you.. in sickness or in.. health. In riches, or in.. poverty.’’ I reply.

‘’And I love you, forever, always, infinity, eternity.’’ As Mark says this, I decide to switch it up a little myself, just as Niall did. ‘’Niall, I will love forever, always, infinity, and eternity.’’ I smile at Niall as he nods lightly, assuring me this will all stay true, we both know it will.
