Beth's POV:

Once we walk in the doors, all eyes are on Addie, new year, same reactions. We make our ways to our lockers which luckily were put only two away from each other.

Addie and I start talking about random things when the hallway goes quiet. We turn to where everyone is staring and I see the girl I've hated ever since I laid eyes on her. Sky Robinson. Behind her is her boyfriend’s gang, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. And the baddest one of them all, holding the hand of the bitch, Harry Styles.

"They're coming over here." Addie whispers to me. Sky and Addie have a huge problem with each other but they act like they love each other. I think it's confusing, definitely a fake girl relationship.

"Hey Addie! How was your summer?" She asked. I look at Harry, he's just staring at the wall, looking bored as ever, waiting for Sky to leave this conversation. Guess we're on the same page then.

"It was fine Sky. How was yours?" Addie asks.

"Great. So listen I'm having a party on Friday night, it's kind of like a homecoming. You should come."

"Only if Beth can come." Addie says and grabs my arm to pull me closer to her.

"What?" Sky and I say together.

"You heard me. Only if Beth can come." Sky rolls her eyes and looks at me.

"Fine. Beth, you can come, but you can't wear something like that." She says referring to my outfit.

"Whatever." I say and cross my arms.

"Well bye." Sky says and walks to her friend group of skanks and then turns to make out with Harry. I have never really liked any of the group of gangsters. Although, Liam has always been nicer than the others.

"Why?" I ask Addie, shaking my head at her.

"You need a boyfriend, Bethy. And you can get one, at this party! We can dress you up really cute and put some makeup on you! Guys will be fawning over you!" She says grabbing my shoulders.

"Addie, you can’t just expect me to go out one night and miraculously find a boyfriend, not sure that’s how it works.”

“Well, you have to start somewhere!” She said looking at me.

“Ugh, fine. One party, and if I want to leave, I'm leaving." I say and she hugs me.

"Yay! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I know you'll have a fantastic time!" She says as the bell rings. The first day back at hell has really started now.

"What do you have first?" She asks me.

"Advanced chem. You?"

"Free. I'll meet you for lunch, kay?" She asks as she walks away.

"Alright." I whisper. Here we go.

I walk into my first class. I've always been good at chemistry. Well I've always been good at a lot of things involving school but I was pretty good at this one.

As everyone arrives to class they sit where they want. I sit towards the back, by myself.

"Nobody get too comfortable, most of you will be moving around according to your lab partner, " Mr. Johnson says as pretty much everyone comes into the room."Your new lab partners are getting assigned right now." He starts telling people where to sit, and I start spacing out.

"Beth Evans," He says and I look up.

"You stay there." He said and continues to read off the lab partners until one catches my attention.

"Harry Styles," He says. I didn't even notice he was in this class.

"Harry, you're with Ben." Harry groans and moves. Ben is kind of a weird guy. And not like the good weird that people tell you to embrace, but like a weird weird. Last year, after class he would always go through the trash and pick out pencil shavings and then put them in his pocket.

"Okay, it's all settled then, wait, oh Beth! You don't have a partner!" He says and starts looking at his list again.

"It's okay, I would rather be on my own." I say praying he doesn't assign me with anyone.

"Wait, Mandy Wilson is supposed to be in this class she can be your lab partner." He says. No. No. No. Mandy is one person I hate almost as much as Sky. She's in Sky's little friend group.

"Mr. Johnson, please, I'd rather be on my own." I say almost begging.

"Oh I see, would anyone else like to be Beth's partner?" He asks the class.

"I'll do it." Everyone turns toward the person who said it. Harry Styles, and I am as surprised as the rest of the class.

"Good then it's settled. When Mandy gets here she'll be with Ben, and Harry you're with Beth." Mr. Johnson says and turns to his desk. Harry sits down next to me.

"Why did you do that?" I ask him once he sits down.

"I don't want to be with Weird Ben, and by the look on your face you would've transferred out of this class if you had to be lab partners with Mandy. And you're smart, and I'm not." He says.

"Oh, thanks." I say and take out my pencil.

"Why don't you want to go to the party?" He asks.

"What?” I say, surprised. Harry Styles asked me a question, not involving school?

"Are you going? To the party?" He asks looking at me.

"Uh, yeah, I think so." I say.

"I’ll see you there." He smiles as the bell rings.

"See you later Beth." He says as he gets up and leaves.

Mandy never showed up.

Maybe Harry won't be that bad as a lab partner as long as Sky doesn't find out he talked to me about something other than chemistry. I am sure she hates me just as much as I hate her.

This will be interesting.
