Chapter 6
Alyssa’s P.O.V
-1 week later-
Wednesday, 29th April 2015
After a week of non-stop meetings, I’m going home. I haven’t seen my family in ages and it’s my sister’s birthday so I wanted to go and see them all. I put my suitcase in my car and drove to Oxford, where I’m from. It took me an hour and forty minutes to get there, and when I finally pulled into the driveway, a smile spread across my face.
“Sissa!” Freddie ran out as I was getting out of my car.
“Hey little man,” I bent down and hugged him. “Go inside and I’ll be in in a minute okay?” I said, going to the boot of my car and getting my stuff out. I went inside and Mum came over.
“My baby is home,” she smiled, hugging me.
“Hi Mum,” I laughed. She always makes such a big deal about me being home, it’s cute really. I’m 21 and she still cares about me so much, she texts me pretty much every day just to check I’m okay.
“Maisie! Austin! Come down and see your sister!” Mum shouted. Austin is 23 and Maisie is 17 tomorrow. There’s quite an age gap between Maisie and Freddie but Freddie wasn’t really expected, he just kind of happened. He’s adorable though. I love all my siblings. Maisie was the first one to come down.
“Lyssa, while you’re here, because I’ve got my provisional now, can I drive your car?” She asked me.
“Hi to you too. I suppose so but so much as scratch it and you’re dead. You’ll have to go out with Austin though because I haven’t been driving long enough to take you.” I said to her. Austin is insured on my car, as well as Joe and Zoe, because they all love it. The insurance price for it is huge because it has 4 young drivers on it, but my salary covers it.
“Who has to go out with me?” Austin came down.
“Maisie, she wants to drive my car and I haven’t been driving long enough to take her.” I said and he nodded.
“Welcome home sis,” He hugged me, and Maisie did too. Then it was just Dad.
“Come here baby girl,” He held his arms out for me and I walked into them. Dad and I have a connection that he doesn’t have with the others, mainly because he spent a lot more time with me when I was little, and he hates that I don’t live with them. He’s always had a really busy job, and only retired last year, but when they had me, he quit his job for a couple of years so he could spend time with me. It’s cute the relationship I have with my dad. He watches all my videos and texts me his opinions and occasionally he scolds me for vlogging while driving but he likes to see what I do every day, it’s cool to him. He gets to see what I do, and watch over me, but so does everyone else.
“Sissa!” Freddie ran in and hugged my legs. I let go of my dad and turned around to pick up Freddie.
“Hey monkey, hey monkey,” I tickled Freddie and he giggled. I saw Mum using my camera to vlog us, she normally does that because she likes seeing the moments again. She likes being able to watch it all back, it makes her feel like I’m home, even if I’m not.
“Urm, Lyssa, you have some explaining to do.” Maisie showed me a picture of me and Harry in my car. “I know who the mystery blonde is, no one else does and they haven’t worked it out either, but I could spot that car a mile off.”
“I’ve been seeing him for a couple of weeks, it’s cool,” I shrugged. Mum has stopped recording now, because she knows I don’t want people to know about this, but I’d just edit it out anyway.
“You’ve been seeing Harry Styles and you didn’t tell me?”
“Yeah, it’s not a big deal, only a few people know. We’ve only been on a couple of dates, it’s nothing official.” I said to her, still bouncing Freddie in my arms.
“What’s he like?” She asked me and I walked into the living room with her and everyone else came to sit down and listen too.
“He’s really nice. He understands that I’ve got a job to do and that I won’t be able to see him a lot and I understand that he’s got a job to do and he won’t be able to see me a lot, it’s cool. We’re casual.” I told everyone.
“Who knows about this then?” Dad asked.
“Obviously Joe, he was the first person I told, and then Zoe and Caspar too. That’s it really, and obviously you guys now.”
“When are you seeing him again?” Austin questioned. I don’t understand why they’re all so interested in my love life all of a sudden.
“Urm, probably when I get back to London. I didn’t see him last week because I was working a lot and so was he but we went on two dates the week before.” I told them.
“Have you kissed him yet?” Maisie continued to interview me.
“Yeah, only briefly though.” I said, deciding to leave out our very heated make out session at his house.
“I want to meet him, if he’s going to date my daughter,” Dad said and I shook my head.
“He’s busy Dad, and we’re not together, like I said, it’s casual.”
“So are you like friends with benefits then?” Maisie asked like it was no big deal and if I had a drink, I would have spat it out.
“No, we’re seeing each other, why does there have to be a label on it?” I replied.
“What do we call him then? Just casual dude?” She said.
“Call him Harry, because you know, that’s his name?” I laughed.
“Maisie, stop interrogating your sister, you wouldn’t like it if she did it to you,” Mum said, trying to stop this conversation.
“It’s Harry Styles, Mum!” Maisie justified herself.
“Just shut up about it Mais,” Austin said and I thanked him.
“Fine, I’m going back upstairs,” she stomped off.
“There are makeup samples in my bag for you to try,” I called to her and she got them out, thanked me and went up to her room. I got my vlog camera from the kitchen and showed everyone. “As you’ve already seen, I’m back homeeee! I’ve missed my family so much. Maisie’s annoyed though, so she’s in her room. I’m thinking I’ll rope her and Austin into filming a Sibling Tag with me, and then I’ll have about 5 main channel videos to go up.” I laughed. I’ve been super prepared recently and spent my week filming, editing and uploading between meetings.
From: Harry:): Hey gorgeous, have a good week at home and I’ll see you when you get back :) x
I smiled and replied.
To: Harry:): Thank youu, family interrogating me about you already, I’ll FaceTime you or something later?x
Harry and I have only had time to FaceTime this week because we’ve been so busy, but we’ve been getting to know each other better with that too so that’s good. I hung out with my family for a while, vlogging occasional bits and then went upstairs to my old bedroom to edit my vlog for today. I sat on my bed, editing the video and cutting out random bits that would make it too long. Once I’d done that, I added my end slate and set it to go live at 6 tonight.
“Alyssa, can I come in?” Maisie knocked at my door.
“Sure,” I smiled, although she can’t see me. She walked in and sat next to me.
“I’m sorry if I annoyed you, I just got a bit excited. I didn’t mean to piss you off or anything.” She apologised.
“It’s fine; I’d be the same if you were seeing someone famous. I get it, it’s interesting and if I wasn’t the person dating him, I’d want to know too. It’s okay,” I hugged her.
