“Okay okay” Josh pants “Ask away.” he rolls his eyes
“Why did you come get me? Why did you lie about my parents being dead? How did you get my mom’s necklace in the first place? how did you know I existed? Do you know my actual dad? What was the-” i begin to spit out every question on my mind
“Katie!” Josh snaps “slow down.” he says and I take a breathe
“I came to get you because your fake dad threatened to kill Harry. If I had you he couldn’t get Harry.” josh admits and I frown
“WHOA what!?” Harry snaps wide eyed
“We will explain everything just wait!” Josh and I say at the same time
“I lied about your parents because you wouldn’t come if I admitted to using you for leverage. Your mom’s necklace was not even the real deal I got it made from my management. And this is where things get complicated. I know your real dad. And I’ve met you before. THAT is why you faintly remember this place ” He says and my eyes widen drastically
“You now my real dad?” I ask softly placing my gun onto the floor, I suddenly forget all my questions momentarily “What is he like..?” I ask
“He is a great man...You’d like him..But you look more like your mother.” Josh smiles and I give him a real but small smile “You’d like her too.” he says
“Will I ever meet them?” i ask
“Soon. They were contacted right after I took you from your kidnapping asshole mom and dad.” he rolls his eyes. “They have been waiting for the right time to come and take you home” He says
“What? I’m leaving?” i ask my heart hurt at the idea of moving away from the guys
“You can’t leave..” Harry and Zayn say at the same time. I turn at look at them with softly eyes.
“Katie. back on track. We will discuss that later.” josh says and I nod
“I need the whole truth Josh. Who am I?” I ask in a broken and defeated tone
“You are the second child of Donald and Christina Walker. They are very wealthy business people who travel the world and help others. Which made them a big target.” Josh says
“Wait...Second child?” I ask “I have an older sibling?” i ask smiling
“He is 4 years older than you and traveled a lot with his school so I don’t blame you for not remembering him. His name is Mason.” Josh says smiling “Your family misses you and have waited for years to have you back..” Josh says
Tears are now falling out of my eyes this is so much to retain in one sitting.
“ I know this is hard. So We will wait till the morning to discuss this further, all of you will be spending the night. Try and explain this to them Kat “ Josh says dismissing himself before leaving my room.
“You don’t have to explain anything now, Love..That clearly took a huge toll on you.” Zayn says softly
“No. you all need to understand.” i say. I turn and sit up on my bed with all of them. “I love you all like family.” I start off with a small smile and they all return it making my heart swell “But this is all of me. And you either take it or leave it at this point.” I say “I was forced into this entire lifestyle. Before I came here...I was a cold heartless killer. I was ready for anything. i would even end a child’s life if i had too. I was brainwashed.” I say “ but it changed when I met you guys. believe it or not you are the first friends I’ve ever had. You made me go out with you and enjoy life. And you sat with me when I got myself hurt and in trouble with my past. A past I couldn’t tell you about or you could’ve been killed..There were so many times I wished I could’ve told you all. But it was never going to be the right time because it would always end badly in my mind.” I say “You have to understand I had this literally beaten into me as a kid. Tell no one, Stay a secret, Kill those who can compromise your location.” i say “Do you guys have any questions?” i ask
“Can you teach me how to fight like a pro?” louis asks smiling like an idiot and my heart flutters at his understanding. When I look around I see the thoughtful and respectful looks they threw at me and I was officially content.
Then I made eye contact with Zayn and he smiles at me. And an emotion flashes through his eyes that i can’t recognize...I couldn’t tell if it was love or lust...maybe both?
i smile lightly at him and Harry clears his throat
“So...what do you do as a spy?” Louis asks
“Well, you save people who don’t know they are in need of saving. They stay under the radar but always seem to end up dead, one way or another.” I say “It isn’t at all glamorous like in the movies.” I chuckle
“Damn..” Niall says
“I’m going home.” Liam says “I need to go..Talk with my parents…” Liam mutters standing up
“About?” I ask defensively
“I just never really tell them I love them. I could have died tonight. All of us could have...And I would have had that on my hands.” He says looking down and I smile at him “Thanks Katie.” He says walking over to me. He pulls me up and hugs me and I chuckle
“You’re very welcome Liam. Now. I’ll go check if everything is...handled down there..” I say
“Handled?” Harry asks
“Josh called clean up..The government burns all dead bodies and dumps them god knows where..and then cleans the entire house spotless so there is no blood or stuff.” I explain “And If they are burning the bodies I’d rather you not see that after everything..” I say with guilt in my voice
“Don’t blame yourself Katie. We understand now... I’ll wait then. Please hurry.” Liam says seeming happy to go home soon
I walk out of the room and walk down the hall and then down the steps. Fumes filled the kitchen and house and I found it hard to see.
“Katie!” I hear Josh call
“Where are you?” I call back
“Lounge!” He say loudly “I want you to know some information I just got.” He chirps excitedly
I hurry into the room and I see Chloe who give me a big hug before I look up to Josh with a questioning expression
“Your kidnappers are BOTH dead.” He declared and my jaw drops
“H-How? When?” I ask shocked
“Apparently she wanted to let you go a long time ago. But he was obsessed with the idea of..Well owning you.” Chloe starts and my mouth dries up “So he killed her before coming to get you! Isn’t that great!” Chloe chirps and I look at he in a funny way making her calm down
“Katie?” Josh calls but his voice seems distant “KATIE!” He yells
“B-both dead?” I mumble confused suddenly
“Katie are you okay?” Chloe asks
“I feel dizzy.” I mumble
“She is going into shock.” Josh says leading me to the couch to sit. My breath quickens and my hands become clammy at the thought of the people who traumatizing me being dead.
“Katie. Calm down.” Chloe says “What do we do?” She asks Josh
“BOYS!” His voice booms through the house and tears form inside of my eyes.
Soon enough the guys were all down stairs staring at me with concern
“What’s going on?’ Zayn asks me cupping my cheek with a worried face
“They are dead.” I say “It’s just too much.” I pant out
“It’ probably because she can’t handle all this information in one night. She killed three people, found out about your parents Lies. COnfronted her fake dad on his lies..Come On Let's get you to bed.” Zayn says in one breath seeming angryAs we walked away I heard conversations start again behind us
“Are they together?” Josh asks
“Nope.” the guys mumble together
But I ignore them and try to focus on my breathing.
Zayn helps me back up to my room and sits with me on my bed for a while before I calm down.
“Thanks.” I say softly
“I was worried you faint.” he chuckled and I chuckle too
“You should sleep.” he says standing up. But before he can get far I grab his arm pulling him back down
“Stay tonight.” I say softly, I’ve never been this shaken up. Not even after the abuse days long ago.
“I don’t know Katie I-” he pauses and examines my face. He bring his thumb and I flinch at his sudden movements but I when he wipes away the moistness on my cheek I understand.. i was crying. “Okay.” He says softly “Go change for bed okay?” he says and I smile lightly at him doing as I’m told. I change into checkered Pj shorts and a tank top. I throw my hair up and brush my teeth before heading back out. And when I do I freeze and take a breath acting cool.
“Where are your clothes?” i ask staring at Zayn who was currently on my bed in I’m hoping boxers at least
“It was too hot for clothes.” he shrugs and I nod climbing into the bed facing him
We stare at eachother for a few minutes just staring at eachother in a comfortable silence.
He seems to be thinking hard about something and I am curious so I scoot closer.
“What are you thinking about?” i ask softly
“I’m weighing the pros and cons on kissing you. So far I have a lot of pros and only one con.” he mumbles cupping my cheek, his finger trails over my skin and I blush lightly
“What is the con?” I ask
“You’ve been through lot of crap today. I don’t want to making you think about more.” He mumbles and I smile at him
“Kiss me.” I say softly.
“No.” He says “even though i really want to. I don’t want to-” He becomes frustrated and i giggle before pushing my lips up to meet his softly
It took a little for him to finally kiss back and when he did, I felt sparks and knew I wanted to do this a lot more often.
