The Newbie

Moving sucks. It's bad enough that I'm switching schools my sophomore year but now I have to deal with being in a different country and being the "foreign new kid". If it were up to me I would have moved us to Spain or Belgium but nooo, my dad's company moved us to ENGLAND. I mean talk about cliché. Most of friends think it's AWESOME that I'm moving to England because most of them have never been. My family has moved around a lot throughout the years because of my dad's job but we've never been moved to another country. My brother Riley thinks this is great. I'm pretty sure he's saying that because he thinks he'll be the center of attention at our new school since he's American.
It took 8 hours to fly over here. How is that even enjoyable? Who the hell wants to fly 8 hours to visit a friend? I know I don't. And don't even get me started on the time difference. Thankfully there's iMessage and all that so it doesn't cost to communicate with everyone back home. Traffic is horrible getting to and from the airport and to top it all off they drive on the wrong side of the road. I guess the drive to the new house wasn't too bad.
Right after my dad told us we would be moving, once again, he showed us the new house, as if that was supposed to make this any better. The good thing about my dad's job was that it paid well. While growing up my parents always told my brother and me that we wouldn't have to worry about money, ever. That's always nice to know. The new house is bigger than the ones we have lived in before.

Once we reached the house there were already 4 moving vans waiting for us to unload all our crap. I realized there was no going back. The more I though about it, the more I just wanted to jump on the next plane out to North Carolina and walk the halls of Cary Academy. Only 3 more months until I get to go back and visit. My parents kept telling us that this was an experience of a life time and that we would thank them later for it. I'm not too certain about that one.
