Love Is Where They Are
Chapter Two
"I'm Harry. Harry Styles." he said. He shoved his hands in his pockets. "Now, you never answered my question." he said. I frowned. "I'm sorry, what was your question again?" Harry sighed. "Why are you crying?" he asked. I flushed red again, this time in anger. "Why do you want to know?" I snapped. He jerked back as surprised. I immediately felt bad. He was only trying to help. "I'm sorry." I said. "I'm just not used to people trying to help me."
He chuckled. "You don't have to me if you don't want to." he said. I felt his hand graze mine, and the tension in the air was suddenly so thick that you could cut it with a knife. I knew I had to get out of there. Without being rude, I got up as smoothly as I could, considering I was still in alot of pain, tried not to limp as I made my way over to the porch swing.
It creaked when I sat down, and I saw a puff of rust come out of the chains because they hadn't been oiled in so long. I rocked it lightly and it creaked as it swung back and forth. Without saying a word, Harry got up, stepped onto the veranda, and walked over to the swing. He sat down and began rock it with me. We were silent for a few moments, and I became lost in my own thoughts. Which is why I was so surprised when he spoke. "You don't have to tell em if you don't want to." he said. I looked at him. He looked so kind and so caring. I couldn't help myself. I burst into tears. I covered my face with my hands as I sobbed. I felt a pair of arms encircle me and I leaned into his chest. Mmmm, it felt so nice to be held after such a long time. I hadn't been held like this since Cartis....NO! Do NOT go there.
I cried and I cried and I cried. When I finally looked up, I saw his eyes. He was crying too. I reached up with my index finger and wiped away one of the tears that had traced its way across his cheek. "Why -why are you crying?" I sniffed. Harry smiled sadly. "Because, it hurts to see someone like you so heart-broken, and I can't help but want to fix it." Harry hugged me even tighter. "I don't know what's going on, but, if you ever want to talk," he said, slipping a phone number into my hand. "I'm here." I smiled. "Are you in high school?" he asked. "Yeah," I said. "I go to Westside Prep." I told him. "That's where I go!" he said. I smiled. "So, I guess I'll see you around, then?" I asked. "Yeah." he said, standing. "Well, I'd better get a move on. Mum will be wanting me back." I giggled. "Ok, bye." I said, waving. He waved back and started down the drive. "Hey!" I called. He turned. "Yes, love?" I smiled. "Thanks." I said. He waved and left. I smiled, but then I felt my face morph into a frown. Did I seriously just GIGGLE? At a BOY? What is happening to me?! I rubbed the piece of paper with his number on it in between my fingers, and felt a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I couldn't help but smile again as I walked inside. Maybe God really does care.
