You Are My Best Friend

When we got to the airport, our flight had been delayed for a couple hours due to bad weather, so Harry and I made ourselves comfortable in the lounge. I went on twitter just to see what people had said about the magazine article.
“Wtf is harry thinking this girl is ugly...Tay is soooo much prettier”

"Erm what is going on like who is he dating. I NEED ANSWERS NOW!!!"

"EW! PDA ALERT! surprised it's not a model"

I shook my head. I wasn’t going to let it get to me. After reading a few more like that, I came across one that I really liked.

“That girl is not pretty as Taylor, but Harry can do whatever he wants *news flash* he is an adult”

I nodded my head, and logged out. Just as soon as I leaned back to take a nap, Harry leaned over and showed me his phone. The caller ID read “Taylor”. I took a deep breath.

“You want me to answer? There’ll be hell to pay”, said Harry.

“You wanna talk first?”, I grimaced. I could only imagine how mad Taylor would be, “I’ll talk to her in a bit.”

So Harry answered. I could only guess at what she was saying, but judging from Harry’s pained expression, it wasn’t good. After a while, he handed the phone to me, mouthing, ‘She wants to speak to you’.

I took yet another deep breath to compose myself. I put the phone to my ear.

“Hi, Taylor”, I greeted her nervously.

“Skyler, I thought we were friends. And then you just go and betray me and fuck my boyfriend. I bet that's why you told me to break up with him". I couldn't even say anything, I was so shocked. Then I got myself together.

"TAYLOR!! What are you talking about? For starters, you were the one who wanted to end it with him BECAUSE YOU CHEATED and you expect me to be sorry? Its not like I planned this, ok. It just happened", I finished, calming down a bit.

" I thought we were friends, Tay. You know I wouldnt do this to you on purpose! Besides, I thought you had moved on from Harry", I pleaded, trying to get her to see reason.

I heard her take a deep breath.

"I guess you're right. But it still hurts that you're with him, ya know? It might take me a while to get over this. Dont expect me to forgive you so easily", she replied.

I smiled to myself, glad she was being at least a little reasonable about it. But, I was still kinda mad at her, what with her implying that I told her to break up with Harry so I could fuck him. As if I would ever do that. To a friend, especially.

" What ya gonna do, write a song about it?", I joked, "Seriously though, Tay, I am glad you arent mad, its just complicated. I really dont know what me and Harry are", I explained.

" Let me know when you find out, otherwe I might just have to write a song. However....I cant forgive Harry. He told me what he did and its just too much. Anyways, I gotta go. See you soon".

"Bye, Tay".

I hung up, glad that we could at least speak to each other. Now comes the hard part, I thought.

I turned to Harry.

" Harry, what are we?", I asked.

He looked at me, opened his mouth, and was cut off by the a voice on the PA system.

“Attention, flight 876 is now boarding passengers. Please make your way to gate 17 if this is your flight”, and I looked up to see we were already outside gate 17, having made our way through security earlier. \

“To be continued, for now, let’s get ya home”, said Harry.

We got on the plane, buckled in, and sat awaiting takeoff.
