The Queen's Court Ch. 5
*Sir Harry's POV*
"Try to keep up Sir Harry!" She laughed, racing ahead of me on the golden mare, Bayflower.

"Yah, Starlet!" I shouted, urging my own horse to go faster. I easily caught up to her panting figure and sent her a smirk.

"You wouldn't be able to keep up with me love! You might break a nail or something, m' lady!" I taunted.

She brought her horse to a trot long enough to flip me off. And then, she was gone.

"Fuccccckkkkkkkkk you!!" She laughed, becoming a brunette blur among the forestry.

"Yah! Yah!" I put my poor Starlet into overdrive, doing my hardest to keep up with the Lady Veronica's flying dresses.

I could just make out her figure ahead. I was one league away from her when her horse startled, sending her flying towards the mossy grounds.

"Whoa, Starlet!! Lady Veronica!" I shouted, dismounting and running over to the mountain of frilly skirts and petticoats.

She had a confused look on her face for a moment before she began laughing. Quietly at first, and then in great bursts.

The sight was so funny, that soon, i was laughing along with her. Clutching my sides and wiping at tears.

"Let's do that again!" She exclaimed, jumping up and grabbing my arm. "You're crazy!" I said, shaking my head.
But I liked crazy.
********************************************************** *Prince Jefferson's POV*

"Did of the ladies you viewed please you?" My mother asked, taking a sip of her tea. I choked on my soup and began to cough. I should have known she wouldn't have waited to bring up this matter.
"Well, there was one..." I trailed off, thinking back to yesterday afternoon.

*begin flashback*

The page recited my customary court introduction, before the doors opened to reveal a small girl with a sharp face.

"Your majesty." She mumbled, curtsying and kissing my royal ring. She slipped on the hem of her gown a little and I grasped her arms to keep her up.

"Shall we have a seat m'lady?" I asked, gesturing towards the huge chairs to the side of the room. She nodded, and trudged slowly behind me.

"So. May I ask your name?"

"No. You may not." She snapped. The shock must have been apparent on my face because she laughed.

"I'm just pulling your leg. I'm Lady Veronica Jewel."

"Lady Veronica Jewel." I repeated.

"That would be me! You have some great stair banisters around here."

I nodded, confused as to why she had brought up our stair banisters.

"Er..it would appear as if we do."

She rolled her eyes.

"Do you ever slide on them Prince Jefferson?" She inquired. Her question took me by surprise and I shook my head.

"Slide on them? Why would I do such a thing?"

She studied me and clucked her tongue.

"Do you repeat everything?"

"Do I?"

She put her head in her hands and looked up at me.

"This is gonna be a long 10 minutes."

*end flashback*

"I'm so stupid Mother! She was just so beautiful, I didn't know what to say."

Mother shook her head and kissed my cheek.

"That's okay love. I'm sure you'll grow more accustomed to her when you're courting her."

I nodded.... wait COURTING her?

"Courting her?!"

"That is why you brought her up correct? You wish to court her for marriage?"

"I guess it is." I said, shrugging.

Looks like I was gonna marry the Lady Veronica.
