*Lady Veronica's POV*
I heard arguing and loud whispering in the hallways. I slid out of bed and stepped into my house slippers, being careful not to make too much noise as I walked across the hardwood floors.
"She just went to sleep you can't go in!" I heard Crissa whine.
"Oh please! I'm her best friend since birth! I think that gives me the right to enter!!"
"M'lady pleas-"
The doors flew open and Toni ran in in her nightgowns.
"Eeeeehhhhhhhaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!" She screamed, tackling me onto the floor.
"What in the bloody hell is up with you?!?" I laughed, pushing her off. She stood up and started to drag me to the bathroom.
"Are we alone in here?" She questioned, peeking behind the thin, curtain.
"Yes! It's the toilets. I don't have a royal flusher!"
"Good, because I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU KISSED HIM!!!"
I grabbed a towel and smothered her face with it.
"Shut up Toni!! Just because this room is empty doesn't mean it's soundproof!"
"Mff hmfr mmdrffff!!!"
I uncovered her mouth and she rolled her eyes at me.
"God in heaven! You are so rough with me! Can I not celebrate with a friend?"
"Geesh! It only happened but early this afternoon. Do you have spies following me 24/7?!" I laughed.
She clapped her hands like a giddy child.
"Oi! I can't believe it! Zayn owes me 30 copper coins! I knew something would go down by the end of this week!"
I tilted my head and looked at her curiously.
"Zayn?"
She blushed and hid her face behind the fan she always seemed to have with her lately.
"Ai!" "Who is this Zayn? Is he important to you?"
"Oh no not at all! He's only my secret lover and the man that took my virginity!"
My jaw went slack and I stared at her.
"You aren't a VIRGIN?!" I screeched.
"Heavens no! I lost that title months ago! But I didn't just leave being with him and run all of the way over here to talk about Zayn and myself's relationship! Spill bitch!"
I laughed at her eager antics.
"Can't I tomorrow? You shouldn't be out this late anyways. Musn't you be returning home?"
"Nay! I brought my travel bag, I'm sleeping here!"
I followed her back to the bedchamber where she gleefully pointed to her duffle in the corner.
"Oh the joy!" I muttered sarcastically.
She plopped on my bed and stripped out of her gown. Antoinette had a bad habit of lounging in the nude. Ever since we were babes.
"Don't think I've forgotten! As your best friend and closest confident, I need closure! What the fucking hell is going on in the world?!"
I plopped down next to her and groaned.
"Ugh! It was stupid! I was walking with Jeffery-mind you I'm still engaged- through the gardens when HE appeared. Oi! He embodied sex appeal! With his gorgeous green eyes and perfect dimples and-"
"Okay I get it! Body of a god! Get to the kiss!"
"Alright! Calm yourself! Well, we ran into him and I pulled him aside, and I was jesting that he was jealous. But then he actually WAS jealous and so I kissed him! Are you pleased now?"
Toni whistled and shook her head.
"Damn Roni! You're growing up so fast!"
I punched her arm and she socked me back.
"What did he say after you kissed him?"
"I don't know! I freaked like a bitch and ran away!" I cried.
"Did Jefferson know?"
"Nay! That man can be naive as a babe sometimes! And oi! Poor Jeffery! He says he loves me. And I'm growing attached too! This is naught but a fool's game I'm playing!"
Toni clucked her tongue.
"Say something Toni!" I begged.
"Well I'll be damned! Looks like you've gotten yourself tangled in a crazy love circle!"
I nodded solemnly.
"Ai! And I'm afraid I'm too dumb to figure out how to untangle!"
