That Night..

Niall’s POV
‘’Daddy, I’m starving!’’ Tori whines as she holds onto my leg as I slave over the grill outside.

I was glad we had an awning that was adjustable so we could cover the back porch where the tables, chairs, and the grill was at, so I wouldn’t get soaked when it rained.

‘’Its almost done, baby,’’ I tell her as she continues to groan and moan about her starvation.

Tonight, or dinner, I was cooking stakes and we were also having salad, well Tori isn’t because she doesn’t like it, but me and Jana are. And I picked up an ice-cream pie earlier today for dessert.

For later on, I had planned to maybe watch a movie together, like old times. But you never know, though. Jana could be the fun, amazing, person she usually is. Or she’ll be the devil in disguise, and not want to socialize with any one. Either way, I’ll always love her.

After a while of staying outside in the pouring rain, I was finished cooking and I was taking everything into the kitchen, Tori at my side.

‘’Daddy.. hurry up!’’ She groans as she sits on the floor, her back against the stove, thank God it wasn’t on.

‘’Go get Mommy. She’s upstairs.’’ I tell her and she’s quick to get up and make her way up there, since she was starving.

Dinner was silent.

No talking. I glanced up at Jana a lot, she just either kept to herself, or was looking at Tori. Taylor was in the highchair beside me. I had pulled it up to the table so he can take part in the dinner too. He was eating those puff snacks things, whatever they are.

I was going up the stairs, towards Tori’s room to ask her a question. My plans of the movie, was off. Jana went straight to the guest room right after dinner.

But for some reason, I find myself passing Tori’s room to go on down the hall. I stop as I reach the last door on the left, all of our rooms on the right, except the guest rooms.

I knock on the door, opening it slightly as I peek. Jana looks up from her phone, but soon looks back down.

‘’Jana.. can we talk?’’ I ask as I open the door a little more.

She shrugs to me, sitting her phone down and crossing her legs. She was wearing a lose tank top, it was short so it revealed her current belly button ring, a silver heart covered in rhinestones. Her long, beautiful, blonde hair was braided so it was lying over her shoulder.

I heard the thunder and could see the lightening through the open curtains on one of the windows. It was dark, the rain masking whatever light was available at the moment.

‘’Um.. did you.. like.. the dinner?’’ I ask, sitting on the foot of the bed, as far away from her as I wanted to get at the moment.

She nods, glancing at me from her lap, where she picks at her pink nail polish.

‘’So.. the rain should be gone by tomorrow. But you know.. you’re welcome to stay.. as long as you want to,’’ I remind her.

‘’I know,’’ She mumbles, I could hardly have heard her if I wasn’t listening, but I was. So, I did hear her.

‘’Is.. Taylor asleep?’’ I ask, curiously.

‘’Yeah. Tori’s on her way. She was tired,’’ Jana tells me.

‘’I hate.. having to keep.. Tori away from you,’’ I sigh out.

‘’Same here.’’ She says, referring to Taylor.

‘’Maybe.. we could.. work something out, like.. so we can both see them equally,’’ I suggest my thoughts.

‘’Yeah.. that sounds.. nice.’’ She smiles gently, not showing any of her white teeth though.

“Or maybe.. me and you.. could-‘’

‘’Niall.. please, don’t do this tonight.. I’m not in the mood to talk about it,’’ She says.

‘’Okay.’’ I mumble, biting my bottom lip as I stare at her, trying to hold myself back, even though its so damn hard.

I continue my gaze on her, noticing that she continues to glance up at me. But something tells me go a little further. So I do.

I stand up from the bed and go to her side. I reach over her and pick up her phone and sit it on the nightstand.

‘’What are you doing?’’ She asks, looking up at me.

‘’You’ll see,’’ I mumble as I turn on the lamp.

I close the open curtains, shut the bathroom door, and shut and lock the bedroom door.

Jana’s eyes are on me at all times as I walk back over to her, a light smile on my face as I reach her again.

But I stop and I reach into my pocket. I take out my phone and unlock it. I can sense Jana’s eyes on me again as I look for a song that I know she loves. I put it on replay and hit play, turning the volume down so that it was like background music and sitting it down on the table.

‘’Niall..’’ Jana mumbles, not saying anything else.

I push her back, so that she’s lying on her back, her head on the soft pillows. I climb on top of her, her hands protesting me off of her, but she stops once I’ve made contact with her eyes.

‘’I.. love.. you.’’ I whisper.

‘’I love.. you too.’’ She whispers back, a smile forming on her beautiful face, ‘’but this.. is wrong.’’

‘’Then lets make it right.’’ I insist as I lean to her lips.

I felt like some one just set off a billion fireworks in my body. The way she tasted, I missed it so much. The way her lips felt against mine, I missed it all. Her body, her everything. I missed it.

And tonight, I’m gonna get it back.
