***RRRIIIIINNNGGGGG***
Period 6, History had just ended. Thank God, that was the boringest class. Ms. Manjarrez was extremely boring. Nice, but boring.
"Was it just me, or was it very boring?" Niall asked as we walked out the class, towards the exit of the school. I laughed because it was like he read my mind .
"Yes, it was veeeerryy boring," I agreed.
"Don't get me wrong, she was very nice, and I did understand what she was teaching, but she was just... Boring."
"Hahahah, I agree."
While walking out the school, Niall stopped in his tracks. And turned to face him raising an eyebrow.
"You okay ?"
"Yea, but that was our last class right ? Like, we can go home ?" He clarified . I giggled at how confused he was .
" Yes, we can go home." I smiled as we started to walk again. But my words hit me.
Home.
I don't have one . But me and Niall are going to his for a while to work on the song, so it can't be that awful... For long.
"You're still up to go to my house right ?" He questioned, again. Wow, this kid was curious.
"Yup — if that's okay with you .." I had the thought of me being unwanted and him not wanting me to go over after all. But Niall seemed too nice to do something like that .
"Are you crazy ? Of course I want you to come !" He laughed, a slight blush forming on his cheeks. He really was adorable
Darcy stop .
Ugh
I smiled and we made our way to the exit. I almost even lost Niall in the pool of people that were crowding the exit . Oh, how I hate half the people in this school. Never mind. I think I hate everyone except for like 10 people whose lives I wouldn't mind sparing . Yea, I'm weird like that ...
When we made it out, I was pushed into the read haired girl in front of me causing her to drop her binder on the floor .
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR– , " she stopped her rant when she saw me. It was my old friend Jean with my old friend Sera. My 2 old best friends who I haven't talked to in almost a year were standing right in front of me . "DARCY ?! "
Jean was light skinned with red hair with black roots (her hair was dyed, not natural) that went down to just below her shoulders. Lucy was darker and had brown super curly hair with chubby cheeks like a squirrel . (A/N- omg you know you do)
"Hi." I awkwardly said. Niall stood beside me looking lost as usual .
"OH MY GOD DUDE ." Lucy said jumping like twice . She always did have that hyper personality. I missed it .. " WE HAVEN'T TALKED TO YOU IN LIKE, FOREVER ."
"I KNOOOW . Also, you lost that happy glow in your eyes ... " Jean said looking deeply into my eyes. So deeply, I started getting uncomfortable and looking down again.
"How've you been ? " Lucy smiled, nudging my forearm .
" Good, could've been better but , I'm okay." I fake smiled. Niall awkwardly coughed trying to make his existence noticeable.
"Hi, I've never seen you before ?" Jean looked Niall up and down trying to think if she had ever seen him.
"I'm Niall Horan, I'm new ." He replied to her. "Darcy, these your friends ?" I was scared and didn't know what to reply. I mean, I don't have any friends anymore . What am I supposed to say 'Not anymore' ?
"We used to be like the 3 musketeers !!" Jean smiled. "But Darcy suddenly got sad... And stopped being happy and bubbly. She never told us what happened and slowly started drifting away from us." You could really see the sadness in both of my old friends faces as Jean said the last part. I suddenly felt bad for leaving them. I really thought they were tired of me being boring. But did they honestly miss me ?
"What did ever happen ?" Sera said to me . "Oh yea, by the way I'm Lucy Smith." She smiled to Niall, sticking out her hand for him to shake.
"I'm Jean Anderson." Jean offered her hand as well. Niall shook both of them and gave them each one of his heart warming smiles .
"Uhmm — something came up ... And I got stressed and uh , yeah ... " I said not really knowing what to say .
"More like DE-pressed ? You were really sad and don't even come to school that much often any more ?" Lucy said. I thought of us having science together .
Niall must've noticed is was a conversation I wanted to avoid and broke the ice .
"So sorry to cut you girls off, but we have to get to my place . My mum needs help with , uh, cooking ." He lied . I mentally hugged him for saving me like that . "It was really nice meeting you guys though." He smiled .
"Oh, okay . Well, we'll see you tomorrow ! You too Niall ! Hopefully , maybe, we can start talking again ?" Jean said hopefully. I really didn't want to talk to anyone. But I realized how much I missed them and just smiled.
"Yup, alright see you in science." I smiled waving . I was about to walk away when I felt two arm wrap tightly around my small figure . Jean was wrapping me in one of her adorable hugs . She reminded me of a teddy bear because she was so cuddly .
I hesitated for a second, but the gave in and hugged back. Then Lucy hugged me and we waved goodbye .
We stepped into Nialls car and I quickly remembered to thank him .
"Thanks, for getting me out of that..."
*Nialls p.o.v*
"Anytime." I thought of asking her if it was about home and family because of the earlier situation today where she seemed to have the same reaction when I asked if we could go to her house . But I figured I might as well wait because now is not the time .

We walked onto the door steps of me and my parents flat . I fiddled in my pocket for the keys and quickly found them . I pulled them out and unlocked the door . I stepped inside and noticed Darcy stood looking scared on my front porch .
I opened the door wider and gestured for her to come in . I smiled at her reassuringly . She soon walked in slowly and I closed the door behind her .
"Don't worry, we're not going to cook and eat you for dinner." I laughed . " as much as I eat, I'm not a carnivore."
She laughed a bit becoming a bit more comfortable by the unfamiliar surroundings.
"MUM IM HOME." I screamed for my mum .
"I'm in the kitchen love !" She barely yelled. I was so loud . I gestured yet again for Darcy to follow me as we walked into the kitchen .
"Hey honey how was your first day ?" She smiled hugging me. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and noticed from the corner of my eye Darcy smiled at that .
"Who is this ??" Oh God. She walked towards Darcy and grabbed her hands. "Hi, I'm Nialls mum Maura." She smiled . Bloody Hell mum .
"Ugh , muuuuuummm . " I whined sounding like a 5year old not wanting to take a bath .
"I'm Darcy." She stuttered . I grabbed her forearm and pulled her towards me and out of my mums grip .
"We're going to work on our song for Music class. Don't bug us ." I said as I pulled her out the kitchen .
"Jeez, you don't have to be mean !" My mum joked . I heard Darcy giggle . I turned around as my mum winked at Darcy . Oh God, why is my family so embarrassing ?
"Wait !! I know you're hungry Nialler bear." Oh my God.
"I am . But I think we'll just go grab some fast food if anything ." I really needed to get out of this kitchen . I grabbed Darcy's forearm and ignored my mums protests as I ran out the kitchen . Causing Darcy to stumble and squeal behind me .
"Sorry. " I said helping her become stable as we were in the living area now . "It's just, ugh . My mums so embarrassing !" She slowly smiled .
"Mine was too ." She laughed . Was .
"Was ?"
"Oh , uhm, nothing sorry it's just um, nothing sorry . Off topic." She fake smiled .
I decided to yet again ignore it as I took her down the living room and into the corridor that lead to my bedroom. Little did I know I just got myself into another situation I wanted to avoid .
