Where Do Broken Hearts Go (Sequel to You and I)

Niall's POV

I stormed out of the hotel room and outside the lobby. I just needed the time to think and as well, probably apologize to Liam later for overreacting to him. It just kills me on the inside that Connie would date Evan. Evan had put her through so much and even though they were able to remain friends after. I don't think he's the right guy for her.

I stood there and realized what I just said. When Connie and I were dating, I had put her through some rough times as well. So am I any different from Evan? Am I even the right guy for her?

Bernice's POV

Harry and I were talking in the living room when we heard a loud bang.

"What was that?" I asked him.

We all got up and went to Niall's room. Niall still had his fist on the door. We all looked at him.

"I'm sorry... I just need some air." He said as he left the room.

We turned back and looked at Liam.

"Liam, what happened to Niall? Did you guys have a fight?" Zayn asked.

"No, he just blew up because he found out that Connie was dating Evan." He said.

Everyone was pretty shocked. They didn't really say anything after that because I think they can predict why Niall would be angry.

I pulled my phone out to text Connie about what had happened.

Connie's POV

Evan had driven me home as I went upstairs to get ready for bed. I was relaxing on my bed with my laptop when all of a sudden, my phone started to vibrated. I got a message from Bernice. I looked at the message:

Niall stormed out of the room after overreacting to Liam. He got extremely upset when he found out you and Evan were dating.

I looked at my phone. I didn't really know how to reply to this. Why was he so upset that Evan and I were dating? Not to be rude, but he was the one who broke up with me... It hurt, but I had no choice but to move on.

I texted back:

Do you think I should meet up with Niall and talk to him?

Bernice texted back:

Now's not a good time. Maybe, when he cools off. Harry invited us back to their second concert in Toronto tomorrow, so you might have time to talk then?

I put my phone away and tried going to bed. Truth be told, I really couldn't.

The next morning I woke up and decided to get some coffee. I went downstairs to fix one up for myself before I went to get ready. When I was done, I did my usual morning routine. Bernice wanted me to be at the Air Canada Centre at around 11 a.m. and it was already nine. I was sort of rushing out the door because I knew traffic would suck, especially since I was going to Downtown, Toronto.

And what do you know, there was a lot of traffic. I got there at around 10:50am. I texted Bernice telling her I was here, so that she could let me in from the back door. When I got in, I wore a backstage pass around my neck and walked to the boys' dressing room.

This might be awkward. When we got there, we saw the boys including Niall. I guess he knew I was coming because he didn't want to make any eye contact with me. Everyone in the room could feel the tension.

Niall's POV

I could feel the tension in the room. I can assume that Connie knows about what had happened yesterday. She didn't even come up to me to have a conversation or look me in the eye.

Connie's POV

Paul came in and said, "Alright, guys. It's time for sound check. Fans are waiting!"

The boys all got up and started heading towards the stage. Bernice wanted to watch the sound check from the audience's point of view. We both took our seats that were fairly far from the fans the boys. Some fans recognized us and waved at us as well. While the boys were performing, Niall had his eyes focused right on me.

I was starting to get uncomfortable, but I could see how sad he looked.

I tried so hard to avoid eye contact.

The way he sang it and looked directly at me made me upset. I couldn't take this anymore. I got up and walked out of the place.

Niall's POV

The boys and I were singing, "Where Do Broken Hearts Go". I just kept on looking at Connie because this song related so much to how I was feeling of letting her go.

She was trying to avoid eye contact with me. At that moment, she got up immediately left the Air Canada Centre. I had this glitch in my body and all of sudden, I was running off stage as well.

Connie had went through one of the exit doors and I had followed her direction. When I opened the door, I saw her standing outside with tears in her eyes.

"Connie..." I said.

She looked at me and raised her voice saying, "What Niall?"

"You ran out, upset." I said.

"Can you blame me? Hearing those lyrics and the way you were singing the song made me feel like you think you were the only one hurting about our break up. And that I should feel some sort of guilt and that we should get back together." She said with tears in her eyes.

"No, Connie. That's not what I meant to do." I said in a soft voice.

"Then what were your intentions from that?" She said.

"Connie..." I said.

I was looking at Connie for a minute.

"No Niall, don't say anymore. I think I'm just going to go home and take a breather from this." She said in a soft voice as she walked away.
