Where Do Broken Hearts Go (Sequel to You and I)

Connie's POV

Bernice was running way too fast to their hotel room for me to catch up. I could already see her at their hotel door as Harry came to hug her. I was really nervous to see Niall. I sort of stood there for a bit. I didn't know if it was a good idea to go and see the boys.

I took a deep breath and kept on walking. I was close to reaching the front of the door. I was walking pretty fast that I didn't know that someone was right in front of my face.

It was Niall. I looked at him and my adrenaline was rushing. I didn't know what to do or say. I could tell he was the same. I haven't seen him in so long and I'm still hurt by the situation.

"Hey Niall..." I said in a soft voice as I tried to smile at him.

"Hey Connie." He said.

We sort of stood there for ten seconds saying nothing, so I sort of just walked away.

Niall's POV

Connie and I were looking at each other without saying anything. It felt like the longest stare down ever. Before you know it, she looked at me and walked away. I sort of looked surprised and stood there for a bit.

I turned to the others and saw Connie hugging the other boys.

"Connie! We missed you!" Zayn said.

Louis came as well and shouted, "YAY WE CAN HANG OUT NOW!"

She started to laugh.

We all went to sit down by the couch and just talked.

Connie's POV

It was so great seeing the boys, whom I haven't seen in a long time. Everyone looked like they were having a good time, except for Niall. He was barely talking and was also looking down at his phone. I wanted to go up to talk to him, but I don't think it was the right time. I just kept talking with the others.

The boys had ordered room service and we all stayed in the hotel eating food. I was pretty happy considering you can never have too much food. I was just about to grab a piece of bread when Niall accidentally almost grabbed my hand. I'm assuming he wanted the bread as well.

I quickly pulled my hand away.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." Niall said.

"It's fine. Take it." I said as I smiled a bit. I walked away because it got too awkward.

Niall's POV

I was just about to grab that piece of bread when I didn't realize Connie was going to as well. We accidentally touched hands and it was so awkward.

"Oh, I'm sorry..." I said as I felt embarrassed.

"It's fine. Take it." She said as smiled and walked away.

She seemed like she really didn't want to talk to me. I could understand. I feel bad for hurting her and now seeing her, made me realized how much I missed her. I made a huge mistake. I still had really strong feelings for her. This year felt so crappy considering she wasn't in my life anymore. But really, what could I do?

We finished eating and we decided to watch a movie. Harry chose the movie this time and he wanted to watch Annabelle.

In the middle of the movie, everyone was fully paying attention to the movie, except for Connie. Occasionally, I would glance at her and see what she was doing.

She was looking at her phone and kept on smiling. She loved horror movies and she would pay full attention to it.

All of a sudden, Connie stood up and she put on her phone by her ear. I guess her mom or someone was calling her. She walked towards another room to answer the phone. This was a good opportunity to sort of talk to her.

I stood up as well and walked to the other room.

When I went in, she looked at me and told the person that called her, "Hey, I'll call you back. Okay, goodbye." She shut off her phone.

"Hey." She said as she smiled.

"Not enjoying the movie? You always loved horror movies." I said.

She smiled at me.

"Yeah, but I kept on getting distracted by my phone." She said.

I didn't want to ask her who because I felt like I was being too noisy.

"Hey Connie, do you want to take a walk outside the hotel?" I asked.

She looked at me, thinking she knew what I wanted to talk to her about.

"Um, sure." She said.

We both grabbed our shoes and headed out the hotel.

When we got outside, we both started walking. None of us said a word. Then again, I asked her to talk, so I needed to start the conversation.

"So, how have you been?" I asked.

"I've been doing well. What about you?" She asked.

"Me too." I said. Really, I wasn't.

"How have things been with your family and the things you were dealing with." I asked.

"It's been better. Thank you for asking." She said.

I smiled and we walked a bit. Still awkward silence.

"So, what did you wanted to talk to me about?" She asked.

"Well...uh..." I said as I stuttered.

I didn't say anything for five minutes.

She kind of looked at me confused.

"Well, I wanted to tell you how much I-" I said as some car honked at us.

We both turned and Evan stepped out of the car. Connie face lit up and ran to him. She gave him a huge hug. Evan kissed her on her forehead.

My whole body went frozen. I didn't know she was dating Evan. And better yet, why would she date someone like him who put her through so much?!

"Hey Evan! What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I was going to pick you and Bernice up to save you guys the trouble of taking the train." He said as he hugged me.

Evan looked at me and gave me the dirtiest look. He definitely knew what happened between Connie and I.

Connie let go of him and brought him towards me.

"You remember Niall, right Evan?" She said.

Evan looked at me and smiled.

"Of course, nice seeing you again Niall." He said.

I was so angry on the inside. But I acted like nothing happened.

"Yeah, nice seeing you too." I said. I gripped my fist tightly and trying so hard not to punch him.

All of a sudden, Connie received a text message.

"Oh, Bernice is staying with Harry tonight. I guess we can leave now." She said to Evan.

"Alright, come on." Evan said as he grabbed her hand.

Connie turned back and said, "It was great seeing you Niall." She smiled.

I smiled.

Evan and Connie hopped into the car and drove away soon after.
