*Mackenzie’s POV (A few hours later)

A few hours have passed and I’m finally back home to LA! I am so excited to start my career. I get off the plane and through the gate when I see a man dressed really nice holding a sign that says my last name. I go to him and he asks me if I’m Mackenzie O’Brien. When I say yes, he says that the record label sent me my very own limo to take me there!

Squealing in excitement, I follow the man to my ride. I don’t know what label Niall’s dad works for, but I guess I’ll find out soon. I just close my eyes and have my chauffer turn on the radio to my favorite station. I jam out on the way and before I know it, we’ve arrived.

The driver comes around to the door and opens it for me holding out his hand. I take it and hop out of the limo to look and see the name of the label. It’s none other than Capitol Records, right across the street from AMDA! Sheesh, Niall. Thanks for conveniently leaving that part out. I go inside and it is so beautiful! I’m greeted by Niall and run to give him a hug. “Happy to be here?” he asks laughing. “Of course I am! I’m getting signed today!” I say jumping. “All right settle down. Let’s go to my dad’s office.”

We get outside the door and Niall is about to open it when I stop him. “Wait…I need a minute.” “C’mon, Mackenzie you’ll do fine with him. He already likes you. Just be yourself.” He says before giving me a peck on the cheek. I blush a little and he opens the door for me. “Hi, Mr. Horan. It’s good to meet you.” I say holding out my hand. “Good to meet you too, Mackenzie. You’re quite talented.” He says smiling. “Thank you so much. It means the world.” He gestures to the seats in front of his desk and Niall and I sit down.

“I’ll tell you it took until just before you arrived to make the decision of who is going to sign you. All of our staff here in A&R were fighting over you. So much so that I had to intervene and make the executive decision that I would choose. It was tough but in the end I picked the best fit for you. I settled on Ashley Stagg. She should be here soon.” he finishes.

People fighting over me? Never in a million years would I think that would happen. “Excuse me, but what does A&R stand for?” I ask feeling dumb. “It means Artist & Repertoire. They are the people who sign talented artists. It sounds fancier.” He laughs and moments later, a woman walks in. Mr. Horan stands to greet her.

“Mackenzie this is Ashley. She will be signing you today.” I shake her hand. “Thank you so much, Ashley.” “It is an honor, Miss O’Brien. Your talent is exceptional.” I say “Thank you! Please, call me Mackenzie.” Next is all the business talk. The four of us go through my contract which takes most of our meeting and I sign and initial in various places.

The whole time Niall is holding my hand. I’m so lucky to have him for support. Mr. Horan also tells me where my recording studio is and that Niall is going to be the lead guitarist in my band. I didn’t even know he played guitar! This boy has some explaining to do. When the meeting is over, Niall leaves with me and once the door closes we start talking about everything.

“I’m so excited you’re gonna be in my band! We’ll get to spend tons of time together.” I say grabbing his hand. “I know it’s gonna be amazing spending the summer with you….My dad neglected to mention this ‘cause I guess he wanted me to tell you, and he’s never done this for anyone before so please feel special. Haha but you’re gonna be living with us until you make enough money to get your own place.” I can’t believe this! “Oh my gosh this is great! I can’t believe we get to live together.”

“I know! And this brings up something I wanna ask you…do you wanna be my girlfriend? I know it’s not the ideal setting and we haven’t gone on a date yet, but I really like you and you’re just so fantastic and—“ I interrupt him by kissing him. “I’ll take that as a yes.” He says blushing major. Awh he is so cute! And he is now my boyfriend! We walk out of the building hand in hand and ride in the limo to his house. We get there and we find that we’re completely alone.

“My parents won’t be home till late tonight. Whatcha wanna do?” Niall asks taking me to the living room and sitting us on the couch. I know what he’s thinking. He wants to make out. After I met him, some of my friends told me about him and said that he has a reputation at AMDA for being…shall we say…a fast mover. He usually has the girl he’s dating in his bed by the first date. Trust me, I want to but we only just started dating and we’ve only kissed once. And I’m in no way a fast mover. “Uh…let’s watch a movie and make some popcorn.”

“Are you sure? I can think of something more fun for us to do.” He says getting closer to me on the couch. Before I know it, he leans in and kisses me. There’s the fast mover I heard about. I can’t help it. I kiss him again and again until he has me on my back. He stops kissing my lips and moves down to my neck. I’ve never been kissed on the neck before, but it feels amazing. We continued making out and all I could think about was how far he was going to try to go. He goes for second base and I’m surprised when I let him.

Just as a moan was escaping my lips, he stops, getting up and saying “I’ll make the popcorn.” He totally did this on purpose. Leaving me wanting more so that I would wanna pick it up after the movie. Man this boy is sneaky. I need to be careful with him.

He puts the popcorn in the microwave and we pick a movie. We watch Grease. Apparently it’s his favorite. I love it too. Throughout the movie, we cuddle and sing along. I think he and I will be fine. I hope we’ll be fine. All I know is that this summer with him is gonna be filled with passion, heat…and of course music.
