Rachel's P.O.V.

Once school had finished I headed round to Calum's. Louis, Emily and Egypt werent coming for about an hour but I had yet to tell Calum they were invited. When I got there it was a panic for him to clean up and make the place look "presentable".

I couldnt help but find his rushed tidying amusing. I had never seen him worry about being tidy before. Then again I had known him since we were kids and so had seen his room in the worst stages it could be.

When eventually we had the place looking nice I ended up just laying on his couch with my feet resting in his lap. He was nervously tapping on my legs as if they were drums and I couldn't help but notice his impeccable rhythm.

"You okay?" I asked softly when a silence fell on us. He sighed, nodding. "Yeah, just a little nervous. I mean like you said this morning it means a lot to you that we all get along and I dont wanna mess it up for you" he murmured, still drumming my legs.

I grinned and sat up to punch his shoulder playfully. "Relax Cal, its not that big of a deal" I reassured him. He shrugged. "Still I-" he cut off quickly when there was a knock on the door.

"I guess this is it, hey?" He squeezed my knee before quickly hopping up to get the door.

An hour later we were all sitting around Calum's living room, while Louis was telling some story from school. Louis and Egypt were on the couch, snuggled together. Emily was also on the couch just a small distance away from them. Calum and I were in the armchair. He was sitting on it while I was on his lap, my legs thrown over one of the arms carelessly.

Things were going really well and I was glad. Louis and Calum seemed to be getting on well though I did notice Calum acting a little too protective with me. However him and Louis were chatting easily and I didn't even feel the need to involve myself. I just glad they seemed to like each other.

It wasnt until Emily asked a question that I was drawn back into the conversation.

"So how long have you two been together?" She asked. I immediately looked at Louis and Egypt for one of them to respond until I felt Calum's body tense underneath me.

"Oh, you mean us?" I asked quickly, frowning in confusion.

She nodded, with a warm grin.

"Cal and I aren't together.. We're just friends" I explained quickly.

She shrugged, a disbelieving look on her face and I suddenly felt a little awkward. Maybe Calum and I were acting a little too couple-y. I was practically on top of him.

However I wasnt given much chance to think into it as just at that moment the door opened. Calum's roommate Luke walked, humming Nirvana's Lithium. He quickly quietened though when he saw us all.

"Hey man" Calum greeted to which Luke simply nodded in response.

"I'll just go hang in my room" he mumbled quickly. At least it wasnt just me he was shy around.

He glanced around at everyone in the room, his eyes pausing on Emily for a few seconds before he bit his lip ring.

Before saying another word he headed off to his room without so much as a glance back. I noticed Emily's eyes followed him.

"You should go talk to him Cal, get him to come hang out with us" I suggested.

Calum bit his lip.

"I'm not so sure he'd go for that" he replied.

"Doesn't he go to our school?" Louis interjected.

I nodded.

"Well look if you dont wanna go talk to him I will" I offered quickly, hopping up off of Calum's lap.

"Rach have you ever even spoken to him?" Calum chuckled slightly.

I shrugged.

"Well not as such.. But you know how persuasive I can be, I'm sure I can get him out here" I replied with a wink to which Calum rolled his eyes and Louis chuckled.

I headed off to Lukes room, determined to get him to come out and talk to us.
