“Okay, she’s here! Valerie, go get her.” I nod in speed at Josh, as I go up the stairs of the den. The preparations for this party was exhausting, but every detail was worth it. the outcome was spectacular, since the den was redecorated for this evening. Josh took care of the DJ, Lora handled the décor and the light effects, and Harry and I were figuring out the food and beverages that turned out to be quite presentable.
We invited Georgia’s close friends, and we made them promise us that they wont rattle to her about this surprise party. Previously, I contacted Georgia and asked her if we could go to a club to have our girls’ night out. Surely, she agreed and promised me that she would meet me at my place. Right now, I was extremely nervous and anxious towards what her reaction would be like when she finds out.
I spot her standing in the lobby, fixing her hair with her fingers. She looks stunning in her dress, which made me glad that she has put the effort needed in her presentation. (She jokes) You finally decided to flash some skin tonight.” I roll my eyes at her, knowing what she exactly meant. My golden shirt has a vertical opening, which exposes my skin. I usually don’t wear such items, but in some reason I figured that I should give it a try this evening.
Harry’s eyes were more than interested in the shirt’s opening, making me feel confident that I have such effect on my boyfriend. “(She whines) Can we go now? I really need a drink.” I shake my head at her, and take her hand in mine. “I need to show you something I bought, yesterday. Its down in the den.” I begin to walk with her, but then she stops. I turn to look at her face, knowing that she’s analysing my fake reason.
“(I assure her) Come on, it will only be for a second. I just need your opinion and then we can go, alright?” She hesitates with her nod, but then when I begin walking again she follows me. Once we begin going down the stairs, she asks: “Why is it so dim in here? Val, please turn on the lights?” I ignore her words and keep walking her with my hand in guidance. Once we reach the middle down, I yell: “Now!” They lights pop out, and everyone shouts a happy ‘SURPRISE!’. I look at her, noticing the amount of shock on her face. I stand beside her, and tell her: “This is for you, from us. I know and you know that you started a new life, so what better way to begin it with if not with a celebration?”
She doesn’t reply verbally, instead she surprises me on her own. She throws her arms over me, and embraces me warmly. I begin to chuckle as I hug her back. The DJ begins his playlist for the evening, as the music bursts through the amplifiers.
“(She whispers in my ear) Thank you so much… I don’t know what else to say!”
I pat her back smoothly, as I depart the hug. We begin walking towards the dance area, as her friends begin to give her the greetings of welcome. I look to my right, noticing my prince having a goofy dance off with Josh. I shake my head to myself, laughing at this moment to remember.
