Instincts. (53rd Chapter)

Valerie’s POV:

I went against my instincts, and stood right in front of the entrance of the laboratory. I wanted for five minutes, praying that the elevator doors would open sooner. I contacted the police before that, and informed them in order to capture those mortal demons before they escape. Minutes felt like years of impatiant waiting, why aren’t Georgia and Harry out yet. Suddenly, the door of the elevator dings, and that was when the oxygen in my lungs returned.
Without thinking for a second, I ran. I ran towards my fragile owner of my heart. His face was extremely tired, and I noticed how weak his movement was. I leaped him in my arms and hugged him close, wanting his skin to be glued to mine. We have been seperated more than enough, and now I just wanted him to become a part of my own body, so that we could never be without one another. I began crying and kissing him allover his precious face, needing him and portraying how much I missed him.
His weak hands hugged me as strong as they could, but as he racked us back and forth. I looked at him, and blushed for a second, noticing that he wasn’t fully dressed. “(He speaks like I am a dream) Valerie…” I squeeze him in my arms tighter and warmer, as I cry deeper at the return of my green eyed prince. Suddenly, realisation stops me as I depart the hug a little. “(I sniffle my nose) Where’s Georgia?”
He points upwards, which made my fear return again. She hasn’t come back, but why? Without further notice, a huge bang sound rumbled the entire building, making Harry and I jolt in frighten. “(I scream from my panic) Harry, run! Run to my car its right outside, you know it. I’ll be right there, GO!” He shakes his head, as he looks at me; knowing what I am going to do. “I’m not leaving you alone!”
I slither out of his arms in speed, as an adrenaline rush strikes me. I summon the elevator and thankfully the doors open in a second. “VALERIE!” Harry yells in pleads, and reply:“GO HARRY! NOW!” The doors close before he could fight back to come with me. I know he doesn’t want my life to be risked, but I have to do this. She may have been my nemisis since childhood, but what she has just done for me can't be repaid no matter how much I do for her.
She has given me my love back, on the price of her personal risk; I won’t let her die. Not for me and not for anyone else. She deserves to live, and she deserves to be thanked endlessly. The doors slide open, and I push my way out of the elevator. Red, yellow, and orange were never scary colours, but from what I see right in front of me; I feel terrified. The flames are stuffing their hunger over the entire level, as they burn down each bit of the laboratory.
The animals in the cage are as scared as I am, but I can’t rescue them. God, forgive me for not having enough time for your humble creatures. My heart tightens once I notice a body on the ground, laying unconcious. No, I won’t let you die. Risking my life was never an option, but I owe it up to Georgia right now. I run as fast as I can, caring less about the flames. She has nothing to do with deciding on ending her life, and I won’t let her die without even trying.
