As I waited for their reply, my mind took me on a journey of its own along with my humane intentions. I haven’t realised it until now, mainly because I didn’t allow my fear to take over my being. This situation is highly dangerous and risky, especially to me. But then again, I don’t think that the percentage of my fear is equivlant to the amount of debt that I owe to Valerie, Harry and finally myself. I want to press that delete key on all of my past life.
I want to be able to walk down the streets, knowing that I am clean handed, and that I could not be accused of anything. I need this chance to be able to prove to myself how I was able to figure out the right path that I must take in life. I just realised how cheap and low I was, but I stopped now. I stopped because I don’t want the easy way out; I don’t want to drown in luxury anymore. To damn with the money, to the social standards and to this society stereotype that is coated with hard layers of shiney plastic.
“Very well, then. There are galosine containers and some other flamable chemicals on the far end. (He throws a lighter, and I catch it easily) Flame it on, once we are gone. Oh, and one more thing. The boy is in his glass cell, upstairs. (He instructs) Make sure to place some chemicals right outside the cell, so they could catch the flames as well.” How could Gerard and those two morons be this brutal? They think taking a life is up to them, and not for the lord? They think it is that easily done?
I would rather witness those flames eating on my flesh bit by bit, than to let a tiny spark be blown towards Harry. As they collect their papers and tubes into their metal briefcases, they begin walking towards the elevator doors. “I’ll call you, once we are out so you could initiate. Make sure to hurry. (He smirks) As much as I hate to admit it, but I don’t think it would be ‘nice’ to see you stuck in the fire. We’ll wait for you at my father’s official labaratory. There is a helicopter there.”
Charlie’s hand slides to swipe over my cheek, but I turn my head away; I don’t want anymore dirty hands touching me no more. As soon as they get into the elevator, and once the doors close; I pick up my phone from my pocket.“Hello?” I say to Valerie, as she replies instantly.
“Georgia, don’t waist anymore time. I’ll call the police and tell them where they could capture them. I heard everything, but you have to give them what they want or else they won’t believe it. I drove my car away from the entrance, because they just came out. Take Harry out, and please don’t get hurt. I’m right outside, waiting.” I didn’t waist time in replying, as I rushed to the metallic staircase and climbed it in speed. I snapped my head on each side, scanning frantically where Harry’s cell is. Suddenly, I heard a little cough of pain, which was my thread that I took as a direction. I followed the cough, and once I reached; my entire body froze.
There, behind the glass cell, laid Harry on the ground. His entire body was bare, and my heart ached once I saw the endless kneedle marks spread over his skin. the brutality of the scene, and the fragility of his being made me feel like complete scum. I saw a metal door right beside the glass display, and I rushed to open it.
As I twisted the knob in frustration, I noticed that there is a thumb-print lock attached above the door knob. How on earth am I going to succeed now? Could this mean that I should give up? No, Georgia, it is now or never to prove to yourself that you are worthy of being called a good doer.
